I was playing open mics once in awhile, but covers don't 'go over' too well around here (Nashville), so I don't do them very often. Maybe one day I'll write a song that I like enough to play in public. : )

Well, what can I say..I was young, and (VERY) naive when I decided to use that quote. I am happy to know it inspires others who visit my channel, so it remains there..However, I no longer feel that it applies to me. I'm not being cynical, just realistic. ;)

How Come? Well, I set aside playing/singing for many years (while I raised my boys), and only last year decided to pick it up again. I hate the idea of 'marketing' myself, altho I might feel differntly if I felt I was 'marketable": Thousands of much younger/prettier "me"s come here in droves, hoping to break into the 'biz'. Come to think of it, the only women I know of who are making records (and are around my age) began their music careers in their teens or 20's.

I also set aside my guitar for many years while I was married and raising my kids. After our divorce my girlfriend really pushed me to start playing again. So anyhow, you're still a kid! I'm 56 and still pursuing the dream.

It doesn't matter how young or old you are. You just have to believe in yourself. Trust me, you should be believing in yourself, you are that talented!

It's funny you say that, for years people have been telling me to put it aside. In fact if it wasn't for all the encouragement I received to stop I don't think I could have carried on lol. Anyway Tom is quite right you have a disgusting amount of talent, it's simply unfair and as for the "far prettier" remark (which is completely inaccurate anyway), I'm sure I'm not the only one who buys a cd for what's on the cd as opposed to what's on the cover. So there!

You are only partially right! Yes there are thousands of wannabes every year pouring into Nashville(LA&Chicago)-most WILL be younger, but very few will be better:singers, songwriters, pickers, or prettier than you. Listen to Lacy J Daltons "16th Avenue" for daily inspiration(it may be the best country song ever written). And remember in the entire world there is only one "Molly" and you were chosen to be her.
