  • I am Japanese and I wanna say that this dog can't be Akita-ken!! I never seen this kind of Akita on my life in Japan!! If this dog is inJapan, nobody recognized this dog as Akita.

And one more thing, yes, in Janaese, inu means dog. But when it comes with Akita or shiba, we say Akita-ken or Shiba-ken not Akita-inu nor Shiba-inu.

  • should read 2 dogs playing

  • the akita looks like my old one but she passed i have a new one though:)

  • I own an akita and its strenth is unbeatable and can pull me to wherever it wants to go but once it gets to know you you have a m8 for life !

  • He is an American Akita not the Japanese

  • This Akita is NOT ATTACKING. Stop sensationalizing clips with misleading headlines.

  • -attacks

    +plays with

  • wow are otherhounds dat big ? wats der tempermant like ? anyone

  • @Ruairi666 Maybe you have an answer already, but answering your question - Otterhounds are very friendly dogs and have a very distinctive bark/howl. If you like the sound of a great hound voice then you will love the Otterhound. There are plenty of vidios on YouTube showing their sound.

  • @JDSFLA thank you, i did some research ,they are pretty hard to get over here in ireland

  • I have an akita. She is almost 7 years old and she is the most obediant dog I have ever owned in my life. They are wonderful dogs. Yours is so beautiful

  • It's an American Akita. A beautiful dog of course!

  • thats looks like a great japanese dog---and not an akita--from the patterned face and size.

  • i read akita is very aggressive dogs and need attention with kids is it wright?? (sorry for my bad english)

  • NO THEY ARE VERY GOOD WITH KIDS

  • @ exnan0 umm.. what are you talking about the japanese akita was breed to both hunt bears AND watch the CHILDREN while both parents or just the single parent was away I should know because I have been studying dogs for many years have an akita of my own (an american akita wich I rescued from a shelter) and I am a vet yeah they can get along great with kids but it would be wise just to socialize them just incase!

  • @exnan0 I agree with others... upload the video again, or change the title to 'play fighting/attacking' or 'friendly'. You may have near 50k in hits.. Not bad for 11 seconds! but 7 dislikes as well, and more than positive. Of course, the video is 3 yrs old too.. so u may want to keep it versus re-uploading or deleting it

  • @MrKasnas I had one when I was a kid. They are very protective, but they love kids.

  • @MrKasnas i have a video of mine and my 6 month old baby great dogs

  • It's an American Akita god damn.

  • Change the title of your Video!

You are putting akita dogs down

  • this is not a japanese akita its a american akita

called a great japanes dog som years ago.

today the japanese akita is called only akita

and the other breed is called american akita.

this is a fact at least in europe.

a have two akitas my self here on you tube

    (akita x2 leker)

  • That is an American Akita. You should be proud! change the title of your video. Beautiful dog.

  • Before they became two different breeds the akita was called Akita Inu. Now you have two breeds called:

    Akita

    American Akita

The one we can see playing on the video is an American Akita, nothing else.

  • how can u tell the difference from american and japanese akita?

  • you can't there the same dog American and inu are the same

  • @TheFlyingSnake Late response I know, but the JPN Akita has a smaller bone density and structure, while the US Akita looks like a combination of the Spitz breed and the mastiff breed. Also JPN Akitas tend to have round faces with ears the push forward and the black mask on the face is not allowed in the JPN Akita. I believe only 4 "legal" colours are allowed.

  • there is only 1 akita breed not 2

  • NO YOU IDIOT.

Inu means DOG in japanese, Just like the Tosa inu, Just means dog...

and all that bullshit about american/japanese akita is just ignorant, they are the same breed, just the japanese are trying to GET rid of the good akita traits. ( Like the mask, making it a solid color. ) Akita's are known for there incredible markings, why would you want to do that.

  • Mate...it's over, there are two breeds, if you have a problem take it up with the FCI, JKC and the rest of the dog world.

You also made yourself sound like an idiot with your "Japanese must be better guard dogs" comment on my video so I have to question just how much YOU know (or how little).

I know your type mate I've heard it all, you have an American and have NO idea what todays Japanese types are like.

Forget history, the future is TWO Akita.s and you need to get over it.

  • Hence the " Todays. " I have a pure black Akita, tops out at 180 pounds, 4 blonde legs, Raccoon Mask, with blonde markings.. Very furry, and she has a big mayne that pushes up and around her face... I know for a fact she is a japanese Akita...

As my family has been breeding these animals for Decades. They both look very different, but overall they are the same dog.

Remember we don't even know the GENETICS, of a Akita because they go back so far.

  • you are a tool

  • why are the videos saying japanese akita ATTACKS for christ sake they are playing!!!

  • You people are ignorant. Japanese Akitas can have white masks, but only American Akitas can have black masks.

  • wrong omg there the same dog there is no different between them

  • otterhounds are cute

  • akitas do have the mask!! and american akitas dont have a mask

  • that is an AMERICAN AKITA U DWEEB

JAP AKITAS ARNT THAT BUILD N DNT HAVE A MASK U WALLY, LOVELY DOG !!!!!!!!! (AKITA)

  • The FCI call the Akita the 'American Akita'. Either way, the only 'Japanese' Akita is the Akita Inu (known as the Japanese Akita Inu by the KC).

  • Its a lovely akita they are a wonderful playful breed

  • true but lmfao

  • amerikan akita !!!

  • japanese!

They all originated from japanese bloodlines!

  • All dogs originated from wolves but we don't call them all wolves anymore! This is an American Akita :)

  • no its a short hair and they are not two different breeds as ur vid suggests

  • According to the FCI, the JKC and every country in the world besides the USA and Canada they are in fact two breeds. It's not suggestion, it's fact.

  • They are not recognised as two different breeds in England either. There are many different bloodlines in breeds of dogs i.e some bull mastiffs look totally different to others same as some pit bulls, but they are not seperated into different breeds. It is just differing bloodlines.

  • Actually they are recognised as 2 different breeds in the United Kingdom . I would send you the link to the site (Kennel Club) that states this as fact, but i'm sure you're more than capable of finding it for yourself.

  • k well my mom got her Akita from a person that got hers in japan and she was one of the first people to have a Akita here in Canada so you are wrong in every way

  • Okay if you say so.

So I'm guessing the Japanese Kennel Club, the FCI and every other Kennel Club in the world besides the AKC and CKC are also wrong then? It's your opinion against the rest of the dog world I'm afriad mate!

Take a look at my videos...you can't seriously say your dog looks exactly like the Japanese type?!

  • You are a idiot, and you are confusing people who want to learn about Akita's, I would appreciate it if you stopped spreading bullshit.

  • I would appreciate it if you got with the program, you have obviously never met a REAL Japanese Akita or you would know there are two breeds, it's that simple. Believe me, see them next to each other and you would feel like an idiot for calling them one breed!

  • Dude why do care so much? If the ACL and CCL don't want to make the switch then in America and Canada its one Akita no matter what you think.

  • The way I see it, the only kennel clubs not to make the switch are the AKC and CKC, the rest of the dog world have on Japans instructions, so it's two breeds no matter what they think...

And I'll tell you why I care, I get loads of people asking me for help with their "Japanese Akita" (which is acutally American) who were totally unprepared for the American Akita's temperament and found the dog too much. If it hadn't been so confusing, they'd have known which they were getting.

  • you are right exnan0

  • @exnan0 Hmm sorry but this guy is american akita.. black mask is usually the mark of american akita.. type to google or youtube Akita Inu and you will find the orginal akita

  • Ash! Ash! Ash! Ash!
