I'm a huge DBT fan and huge Jason fan. TO say he's a has been is B.S., hell "Here We Rest" is one of the best albums of 2011, way better than Go-Go Boots.

But to say he's better than Patterson could ever dream of being is B.S. too. They're both just different writers. That's why I loved when he was in DBT, because you got 3 different writing styles.

They're just different, and honestly if even if you wanted to compare, you couldn't...Patterson has a much larger library of great songs.

Calling Isbell a 'has-been' is a joke; his career is on the up and up. He can out-play anyone in DBT, is a far better lyricist than Patterson Hood could even dream of being, and his music gets better and better with each album he puts out.

I still love Cooley, but I'm glad Isbell is doing his own thing, his career is doing really well.

Isbell will go down in history as one of the best singer/song writers of all time!
