Doms reunion with Maria might be the saddest scene I've ever watched from a movie, video game or otherwise. The utter helplessness and despair this scene portrays and the ultimate conclusion that plays out undeniably touches upon the 'what if's' and 'what could have's' in any situation such as this. There is no happy ending, only acceptance.

Ben was the best character in the series. He may have been a rookie, but he was a rookie who stayed calm during the fights, even when he had Brumaks coming at him. I only wish Clay was in Gears 3 more than he was, and that they had at least one conversation about Ben and Anthony.
