  • I'm amazed you picked it up by ear just one day before. That's a great ear! I'm sure you can find the manuscript somewhere on the web. Try searching for pdfs. Usually works.

  • i love it!! and nice way of holding the guitar...its like ur caressing a woman..

  • playing the guitar is like making love.

  • i dont think that those 5th are correct. but i think u just did that because its to difficult to play the minor3rds. perhaps different tuning? either way. better than i could do.

  • Muy bonito, con mucho sentimiento y mucha forma. Felicidades

  • semplicemente

    Fantastico

do you play other instruments as well?

  • Very nice!

  • fucking amazing i love this

  • very beautiful!

  • Nicely played, but I really feel I ought to point you towards Antonio López who really plays this piece divinely.

Please understand that I do this, because you have potential and I think he will inspire you.

  • Very very nice, can't believe you managed to learn it by ear and then reproduce it so beautifully... it is O.K. to smile at the end though :) We don't bite.

  • learned by ear the day before recording it? THats impressive by ANY standard

  • Absolutely wonderful.

  • Really Nice!

  • Beautiful.

  • i can't wait to learn this on guitar. you do such a beautiful job, especially having learned it by ear the day before. its inspiring! nice job :)

  • I also tend to play this one a little slower than usual and a bit "behind" the beat. Nice playing :)

  • super bel interpret et j'adore la moto à la fin ,)

  • I love it. I'm kind of new at the guitar, what do you keep strumming as you play the melody I can't quite figure it out? Do you have tab for it anywhere?

  • loved your gymnopedie 1 but I would (actually do play) the gnossienne 1 a little bit faster...

anyway it is no doubt one of the best interpretation on youtube... keep up the good work...

  • Just noticed the spooky, eerie sound of the wind blowing outside your window blowing at the very end :)

  • Yeah, I think it was being considerate and waiting till I finish playing before blowing :)

  • Haunting tune, sympathetic playing - nice one!

  • Too many people play this piece too fast. This is just right.

  • so true-- really lovely playing!

  • Wonderful ! Please check my video... I've learned it same as you yesterday only from video records ...

  • rediculous awesome!

  • The Guitarist Tunes Up With what attentive courtesy he bent

    Over his instrument;

Not as a lordly conquerer who could

    Command both wire and wood,

But as a man with a loved woman might,

    Inquiring with delight

What slight essential things she had to say

Before they started, he and she, to play.

    Frances Darwin Cornford

  • Awsome! How did you tune your 2nd and 3rd strings? I couldn't get 2:41-3:00.

  • Thank you. It's completely standard tuning. I play notes of A-minor in 2:41-3:00

  • beautiful , i ll show it to my kid !

  • Mükemmelsin. Bana bir şey oluyor bu eseri dinlerken. Gitarda bu kadar güzel çalınabileceğini tahmin etmemiştim. Keşke tabını bulabilsem bir yerlerden. Kulağım yetmiyor ne yazik ki çıkartmak için. :(

  • beautifull, thank you, should be put on a cd

  • erik...

  • I had always heard that Satie's Gnossiene were inspired by traditional Greek music, but I could never establish that relationship until I heard your adaptation on the guitar...Very well done!

  • great again! :) thanks

  • Very wel done. Awesome interpretation. You nailed it. . very clean.

You should be proud of it.

  • ahh .. now i can comment again

    this is just exquisite.

    faved with respect!

  • Only a day preparation? By ear? Remarkable. I think you've nicely captured the spirit of Satie's piece.

  • It's an amazing performance!! I know that it's a shame on me but after the movie 'The Painted Veil'(I discovered later that it is also one of the soundtracks of 'Chocolatte', Gnossienne No. 1 became my favorite ones. You' re very talented guy. I'd rather listen to your live performance....Bol sans!!!

  • awsome interpretation, gratz!

  • good quality music ,thanks

  • Bis!

  • Perfect. Absolutely uneartly.

  • Thank you

  • at the climax yo play the acchord Am (A minor) like E5 and C6... i play the complete achord (E5, A5 and C6).. but it's ok..

  • hem gnossienne hem koyunbaba.

böyle bir mutluluk geldi bana biliyo musun.

    eline sağlık, zevkine bereket.

  • Tesekkurler

  • A-ok!

  • demaciado talente !@

  • Muito bonito. Agora, falta só interpretar.

  • i feel like i could cry

  • Sounds like Satie wrote it for the guitar... Just love it.

  • Really beauty. It´s a shame that you won´t record anymore, because you are really talented. Satie´s music is always something else.

  • you did it.. :D very very good.. my favorite of

    Satie's

  • Thank you. :) This is also my favorite of Satie's among the one's I've listened to.

  • beautiful you are amezing guitarist!

  • Beautiful. Thankyou ;)

  • yine harikasın.tebrikler.

  • Hi Can,

Thanks for sharing! WOW! I almost got in a trance... you had me there for 4 minutes! Very well done! And I actually love Erik Satie. So strange, so simple, so beautyful.

  • Thank you. This piece is kind of simple to play but I think the theory behind the music is quite complex.

  • It seems like the wind was considerate enough to wait till I finish playing before blowing :)

  • sounds great, nice transcription :)
