  • That's not the original shrink-wrap. Those are modern dice, not the original ones. And the box does not have any of the TSR advert sheets for other products or the post-card subscription forms for Dragon magazine or the RPGA. So it's not a big deal that you opened it. It's in really good shape, but it's not as "original" as you think. Hope you didn't pay too much.

  • I remember those days,,, 1980's when the product was best!!! The basic boxed set,,, expert rules,,, and them orange spined hardbound A D&D rules,,,

  • i still have all of my orignal D&D game books all the way up to the ones where you took your character to god levels . its a great game . i remember when you could go throu many encounters and combat was simple to run . the D&D of today takes a long time just to get throu one encounter . 3.5 was not to bad with a little bit of workbut D&D 4.0 i just dont like it . great video guys have fun playing .

  • This was the first D&D set I ever got :). Amazing you were able to find one in mint condition. Mine also came with the crappy dice with the crayon to fill in th enumbers :). Currently my books are beat up, and the box thrown out long ago :(.

  • @bludeborne i agree!! you gotta have the book, and the smell of the old books! BUT i do like to get the modules online pdf...because if you went back and bought EVERY module you would go broke!

  • That was the first D&D product I ever owned. I don't have the box anymore, but I still have the rulebooks :)
