  • Hi everybody ! is there somebody who could tell me what's the name of the song at 1:22 , in the new trailer ? ( this one : Superman (1978) New Trailer HQ , on youtube )

    thxx

  • Superman = Jesus Christ sent to earth

Jor El = God the Father, sending his only son....

  • the music sounds like plantet of the apes, those trumpets very scary

  • The first two movies were the best ... the Superman Returns movie BLOWS --- no one has so far replaced the great Christopher Reeves as the "Man of Steel" so hopefully in this new movie ( suprisingly named Man Of Steel ) will be good when it comes out in 2013...

  • Thank you Andy

  • How is song?

  • You can never beat this movie!! EVER!!!

  • they are rebooting the Superman films now.

  • This movie NEVER gets old!

  • One of the greatest movies ever made.

  • Amazing

  • I did not know Marlon Brando was Jor El..:o

  • that was just beautiful...

  • Whoever knew that a disco ball contained a superhero child from outer space will come to Earth and become its savior?

  • PLEASE type in GREEN LANTERN THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY it is the true story of how GEORGE LUCAS sent off duty CIA agents to threaten my Mother with guns PLEASE check it out thanks

  • 91 ppl u guys are faggots go watch ur fuckin batman dark night an twilight movies

    this movies my shit

  • My fellow Americans, does this hero, does this film, does this All-American masterpiece not want you to rise up and have pride in your own Nation? Does this not strike a strong sense of Nationalism into your heart? Does this not capture the essence of American Super-Heroes? A reflection of pure, American culture? A relic of the times before people lost pride in their own Nation. Super-Man is an American-Icon. This is the way a super-hero film is supposed to be, not the Dark Knight, but Super-Man

  • THIS was THE superman Movie, Returns sucked...hopefully Man of Steel will be great!!

  • @austinu812 you have to understand where the director was trying to go with returns, he was trying to start from scratch i suppose and develop the relation between lois and superman, I think the movie needed a shot in the arm as far as action and a decent villian but most of all it needed a decent Lois Lane. I thought the movie was good .

  • @austinu812 It will be great, Zack Snyder's directing it.

  • Something I've always wondered, if Kryptonians can fly why don't they just flee the planet and look for a new home?

  • @MrCure4 it was because of the red sun

  • @MrCure4 they cant fly until they get to earth and they didnt even know they could until they got there......

  • Thank god for Superman - Man of Steel!!! *sighs in relief*

  • 88 people need to be sent to The Phantom Zone! I remember seeing this film in theaters when it came out and was amazed that it actually looked like he could fly.

  • Overblown.

  • Anybody notice that they didn't censor Kalel's weiner when he was a kid? Doesn't that count as child pornography? Seriously, what happened to the censors at the time? Somebody explain!

  • @etiscool1...Because there wasnt an influx of paedophile and whatnot back then, things such as paedophilia wasnt as high as it is now. Unlike today, people would view that sort of clip innocently without thinking about " Oh god! A dirty of man or woman is going to view this in a sexual nature!"

  • 88 pieces of Kryptonite disliked this classic.

I do not care if anyone says this movie sucks, This is one of the best, if not the greatest, comic book movies of all time. Christopher Reeve will always be "Superman" in my heart. I bet Henry Cavill will be good.

  • 88 morons were here!!!!!!!

  • Lil kid penis in a trailer!!?? SMH

  • Classic. Thanks! Brought back a lot of memories! :)

  • whats its name just superman? i mean the movies name

  • @ComedyGoldKedon Superman The movie is the title of this movie.

  • @ComedyGoldKedon Superman, because at that time, IIlya Salkind revered him as an icon of American pride.

  • his only son hehe like jesus...!

  • hope i can see it in the theater one day.

  • I LOVE SUPERMAN ICE CREAM!

  • @yetifarmer09 My cousin thought of Edward Scissorhands as Christ-like.

  • Thumbs up If you think that Clark Kent from Smallville have to play in this movie:D

  • The start of something big!

  • Great memories

  • OMG I THINK I CAME! FUCKING LOOOOOVE superman!!!!

  • Tom fucking welling came close to CR dumbshit... Btw when they find him there is totally CP

  • a piss take out of christianity methinks,

    "sending his only son?"

  • @MrDontwork So what?

  • nobody can come close to christopher reeve r.i.p Kalel son of Jorel

  • @imthechamp100 Agreed - no-one else is Superman for me. Not before nor since.

  • Hi name is Kal-El... He will call himself Clark Kent... But the world will know him as SUPERMAN.

  • Why is Marlon Brando and a lot of others the first in the credits. Christopher Reeve is always number four and he's the main character

  • @adamtheboyfromdenmar because they were bigger stars at the time and were paid more money. Brando had been made ultra famous in The Godfather years before this movie so he was huge as was Hackman. Reeve was barely known as an actor before Superman. Same thing happened with Batman 1989. Nicholson got higher billing over Michael Keaton for the same reason

  • @Beltzer0072: Actually, Nicholson wanted higher billing on Batman 1989. Michael Keaton was already a household name by the time that movie came out

  • @luisrox94 True but he was mostly known for romantic comedies, in fact Batman fans petitioned against him being cast as Batman. Thankfully if you saw Beetlejuice a year before, you saw that Keaton could do a dark and crazy film and you went in knowing hey it could work and then find out it was great. Nicholson yes did want higher billing, so did Brando in Superman though.

  • they wanted steven spielberg to direct this. It's a good thing he didn't or else he would have probably fell to the curse

  • Movie still holds up today. 33 yrs later people!!!!!!!!!!!

put this next to the best comic book movies ever and it still holds up.

    The effects, story, costume EVERYTHING

  • Superman's flying at 2:06 looks so real and flawless...

Amazing special effects, without any CGI they made us truly believe a man can fly.

  • This movie is reason I became a comic book artist. Thanks for the memories Chris you won't be forgotten

  • Superman > The Dark Knight

  • @e35554r One of those haters. Haters gonna hate.

  • @e35554r Like your Father...

  • 1:59 tell me thats not Kal-El being NAKED and has no UNDERWEAR!!!!!!!!! I SEE THE LIGHT!!!!!

  • 85 people are an army of Lex Luthors!!

  • Christoper Reeve IS superman

  • 84 people don't like kryptonite!

  • After ALL these years it's still the BEST superhero movie.

  • @lovecats2 did you like Batman 1989?

  • In one tragic moment, that world was destroyed. Then a legend became a saga!! The best movie on the face of this planet excluding Krypton :D

  • super 1 till 4 are the best!!! the other supermans are shit!

  • They should re-cut Supe 1 to coincide with the new SII Donner Cut & sell it as a 2 disc set.

  • After I saw Superman Returns, as the credits rolled I turned to my friend and said, "This thing does not DESERVE to use this music, it hasn't earned the right! It's like bad karaoke!"

  • Christoper Reeve WAS superman.

  • Everytime I see this movie I feel like a kid again!! It has a special place in my heart!!

  • Superman the movie!

  • His name is Kal-El! He will call himself Clark Kent, but the world will know him as Superman!

  • Doesn't that beat all get out?

  • I hope 2012 Man Of Steel will be so epic like this!

  • R.I.P. Jackie Cooper (Perry White) 1922-2011

  • This year Superman brings you the gift of flight!

  • cool brings cool magic moment morpry time machine capsul

  • David Icke and Micheal Tsarion, Jay Weidner talks about an extraterrestrial race that evacuated from a dying world came to and settled on Mars and Earth. What he says about the a Blond haired, blue eyed gods called the Aryans. This is what David Icke writes in his book the biggest secret p246

  • Part (2)

"solar system called Aldebaran, 68 light years away in the constellation of Taurus where two inhabited planets formed the Sumeran empire.

The population of Aldebaran is divided into a master race of blond-haired, blueeyed,

Aryans, known as Light God People and several other human-like races which

had mutated to a lower genetic form due to climatic changes,

  • Part (3)

    In

excess of 500 million years ago the Aldebaran sun began to expand so creating a

    tremendous increase in heat.

The ‘lower’ races were evacuated and taken to other

inhabitable planets. Then the Aryan Light God People began to colonise Earth-like

    planets after theirs became uninhabitable."

  • The best trailer of all my life!!!!!!....Thanks chris....R.I.P.

  • Last night, I was reading the Wikipedia entry for this movie. So many different actors were intended to play Superman in this film, but for me, only Christopher Reeve could be Superman.

  • Can someone help me find something?

On that "I Love the 80s" show on VH1, they were talking about Superman: The Movie (maybe it was Superman 2). It was either an alternate version, like a director's cut type, or just some scenes they decided to cut. The scenes were a bunch of corny references to the comic book that made it seem like a totally different kind of movie.

Does anyone know what I am talking about or where I can find more information about this?

  • @jimbrown257 I think you are talking about the richard donner cut for superman 2. the back story is richard donner the director for superman 1 was to direct superman 2 but got fired and replaced halfway through making part 2 . some years ago WB gave him the right to re edit the movie to his original vision . I have heard his version does make a signifigant changes to the over all film. superman 2 the richard donner cut is what i belive it's called

  • @mjnoir1

"the richard donner cut for superman 2"

...That's exactly what it was. In fact, it was on TV a few weeks ago (I think TBS) and they had some interviews with Donner and the others who restored it to Donner's original vision. It was pretty interesting, there was quite a bit of conflict between the execs and Donner. You can find the interviews on Youtube. The most interesting thing was that Superman 1 and 2 were made, not back to back, but at the save time and money with the sets.

  • remember being a child and believing people like superman, batman and spider man were real !

  • YES! im not kidding when i tell you guys this but they are making a new super man movie :DD

it's called "superman: Man of steel"

and this isnt a spam or anything im just expressing my feeling to you guys about this hahaha.

  • waw. I'm so not watching this movie

  • Superman. NEver heard of him

  • Simplemente..la mejor pelicula de Superheroes...y Christopher Reeve fue y será el mejor Superman...

  • a true great film

  • Christopher Reeve was the best Superman

  • Comment removed

  • Im glade avatar is here :D

  • The OSCARS did not even nominate this for best picture...OSCARS REALLY?!

  • Man the trailer gives me goosebumps. Christopher Reeve truly brought Supes to life.

  • I see a face in the clouds at 1:53.

  • I'm probably gonna get thumbs down for this.

I love this movie, I love it a lot, but doesn't anyone think that Lex Luthor's plan in this movie was a little lame? I mean, destroy the west coast so he can sell land? I mean doesn't that sound a little lame to you?

  • 80 people are trapped in the Phantom Zone

  • I think that "Superman: The Movie" is the best super-hero movie ever. I liked "The Dark Knight" a lot, but when I watched again, it wasn't as good and it gets less interesting every time I watch it. Superman on the other hand I still love it to this day.

  • @canuck21 Sorry, I like Dark Knight a WHOLE lot better.

I mean this movie is good and all, but Luthor's plan to destroy the west coast to sell land and Superman reversing the rotation of the Earth to reverse time, it sounds a little lame? No offense.

Also, LEX LUTHOR DIDN'T WEAR A RUG!!! He was proud of his baldness!

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 You have to remember that the world of Superman and the world of Batman are very different. Superman comes from another planet and has super powers; he's an out-of-this-world character and so is his universe and stories. Batman on the other hand is more realistic. He's human like anyone else, it's just that he's extremely rich and has a purpose. Therefore Batman has to be set on a more realistic scale in both tone and story. So to me it's not lame, just different.

  • @canuck21 What difference does that make? I didn't say Batman and Superman were in the same universe, I'm just saying that destroying the west coast to sell land doesn't sound like a master plan, it sounds ridiculous.

And even if you were Superman and even if you could reverse rotation of the Earth it wouldn't reverse time.

And again, Luthor didn't wear a rug, I would've rather get a different actor then see Luthor wearing a rug, what made Luthor so cool was his brilliance and his baldness.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 It's ridiculous in a realistic world, but not in the Superman universe and also not ridiculous in the Superman: the Movie's campy tone. Anyway, no matter what you say or what I say, We each have our own taste. I much prefer Superman: The Movie and I also like Ironman and Spiderman more than The Dark Knight.

  • @canuck21 It has nothing to do with realism it has to do with wether it's a good plan or not, and it's not. Destroying the west coast to sell land? It's not Lex Luthor, Luthor is attracted to power that's why he is currently president.

The Dark Knight is the greatest superhero movie ever made, Superman, Iron Man, and Spider-Man are all good, but TDK tops them all, they don't compare.

    End of Kryptoian memory bank.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 I don't read comic books so I don't know that version of Lex Luthor and I frankly don't care. All I know is that Superman: The Movie is my favourite superhero movie ever. Get over it, not everyone has the same taste as yours.

  • @canuck21 HELLO! ANYBODY HOME?! Superman is based on a comic book you ding dong! It makes sense that the movie would be faithful to the, I don't know, THE COMIC BOOKS, and in the comic books Lex Luthor didn't wear a rug and he didn't pull off real-estate scams.

And again, think about it, Superman vs. Lex Luthor in a robot suit, Superman vs. Doomsday a villain who could kill him without krytonite, in this it's Superman vs. Lex Luthor and his real-estate scam. LAME!

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 Hello super geek. I DON'T CARE if the superhero movies follow the comic book or not. I judge the movies on their own merit. If I was a comic book reader, yes I would care, but since I don't, I DON'T FUCKING CARE. Why are you trying so hard to convince me? Don't you have anything else to do, like, I don't know... read comic books and play video games? Listen, I've never been into this comic book thing so Doomsday and robot suit sounds as silly to me. I don't dig that, sorry.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 I am not a comic book reader, but for goodness sake, this was 1978.

  • where the fuck cannu watch/download this movie

  • @darkcrow1985 Damn, if you can not say anything good, stfu!!!!

  • @darkcrow1985 How dare you!!!!

  • Superman The Movie Trailer.

    E5P1N

  • check out ''superman wong'' ...

  • @darkcrow1985 hater ass he's the number #1 superhero other than batman

  • Brilliant movie, i am an 80's kid and these 2 Superman movies rule. I can't wait for the new Batman Begins style reboot helmed by producer Christopher Nolan who rules the comic book movie industry now in great range.

  • R.I.P.

    1952-2004

....I believe a man can fly.

  • ...Christopher Nolan depicts his characters REALLY well and develops their story NON-STOP throughout his movies, "Inception" and "The Dark Knight" are pure examples of this. So, I rest easy at night knowing he WROTEthe currently untitled reboot for "SUPERMAN" That would be a good title, in it's self.

    "SUPERMAN"

    or

    "THE MAN OF STEEL"

  • Henry Cavill in the new Superman

  • OK, EVERYBODY LISTEN. WHY DO THEY ALWYAS MAKE SUPERMAN SO DAMN WEAK. HE ACTS LIKE A BITCH IN THE MOVIES AND ON SMALLVILLE. THEY NEED TO MAKE HIM UNTOUCHABLE AND EXTREMELY POWERFUL. IF THEY MAKE THE NEXT MOVIE AND HE IS WEAK IT WILL BOMB LIKE THE LAST ONE. AND IT BETTER NOT BE ABOUT LANA OR LOIS EITHER!!!!!!!!! THEY NEED TO MAKE HIM INVULNERABLE AND STOP PULLING THE KRYPTONITE BULLSHIT!!!!! IF THEY MAKE HIM POWERFUL THEY MOVIE WILL MAKE A LOT OF MONEY!!!! MAKE HIM LEGENDARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ashyabuel Too true my friend....Im surprised they havent worked that one out...I have an idea they have cottoned onto it though, for the very reasons you gave. They also need to piss Lex Luthor off and give him some decent foes. eg the russian mafia. SNM crime gang in new mexico, ....some real true to life villians...who kill without blinking an eye....they need to make Superman not afraid to amass a body count....

  • @stephandnatali ...That would make Superman without... Pride, Honor & Values.... Which would make him no longer relatable. His Human reactions, is the only thing that makes him relatable. Taking that away by making him unafraid to amass a body count, would make him... what he originally was. A villian.

  • @HMGen14 Good call my friend, I totally agree with you, and i did like Superman returns because of the factors you stated, which was a core of what that movie was about. However I believe its time to "up the Ante" and give Superman a more pissed off attitude, however still keeping the factors you described.....take care

  • @ashyabuel you watch too much smallville

smallville is shit and kryptonite is supposed to be very rare

  • @ashyabuel ...Superman was "weak"...in your sense.... in the Christopher Reeve movies. In MY opinion, he was REALLY strong and relatable in those movies... "Superman: The Movie" and "Superman II" were BLOCKBUSTERS. So, I don't know where you're getting this "It will bomb" shit.

  • @ashyabuel ...You don't know SHIT about Superman.. His values, responsibilities, pride, honor, love-life all made him LEGENDARY. Most people think, "Kryptonite" and magic is his only weakness. It's not, he is "Human" and feels emotion for everyone and everything. THAT MADE HIM LEGENDARY, not some hard, cold, badass. Sure, they can bring in a villian that would bring that SIDE out of him, which knowing Christopher Nolan... I don't think that will be a problem. DOOMSDAY!

  • @HMGen14 Hard to say. In 1938, with Depression infecting everyone's lives and war imminent in Europe, I think people wanted an unstoppable hero who represented the forces of "good." And I think that, at least for a while, that much was enough. He wasn't supposed to have much emotional weakness - in fact, I think the only one initially was love. Kryptonite didn't even show up for a few years, I think (?). Correct if I'm wrong, though - I haven't read it in a while.

  • @BenMcCormack91 Superman was written in 1932, but it was published in DC in 1938.

  • @ashyabuel Dude. An invulnerable main character isn't legendary; he's bloody boring. Every famous "hero," legendary or not, has some weakness.

  • @BenMcCormack91 Yeah if Superman isn't legendary then why are we still talking about him and that includes you. The problem with Superman movies is the villians, they keep throwing Lex Luthor at him all the time, people are bored of Lex Luthor not Superman. I hear that the new Superman will again have Lex Luthor in it again, for the love of god stop it already.

  • @scorp982 I said "an invulnerable main character isn't legendary." My point isn't that Superman isn't legendary; it's that Superman isn't invulnerable. He's got Lois and Kryptonite - we've got the physical weakness and the emotional weakness covered. He's also got his duality between Kent and Superman that forces him to play an elaborate balancing act.

  • Great video...This one's for...

"The House Of El" ("El" is the name for "Elohim" or "God" in Hebrew)...

Click on my screenname if you would like to learn more..."Truth is stranger than fiction" - OwlMan

  • Such a beautiful movie.

  • RIP Susannah York

  • Anyone else feel that Dragon Ball copied this story's beginning?

  • @Spittpuppy dragon ball copied alot of different stories from other influences.

  • I can picture baby Goku being sent off from planet vegeta in his space pod with the music in the backround beginning at 00:53 and ending 1:21 showing the destruction of planet vegeta, I have to make a trailer edit of this

  • pretty much almost everything is inspired from something, for example, George Lucas claims Flash Gordon influenced Star Wars a lot

  • It's like Dragon Ball.

  • I figured one out because Zod said "You Will Bow Down Before Me Jor-El- Both You And Then One Day Your Heirs!"

  • They should have evacuated if only because Krypton looks such a crap place to live.

  • a great video

  • fuck superman. banana man rules

  • I have always hated this movie. Reeve was awesome, but the comedy villain Luthor was poor, and what's with inventing the time travel power? What shit! If Supes can travel that fast, why did it take him so long to cut across state and miss out on saving Lois?

    Rubbish.

  • @MulletPuppet There was a recent airing of Superman II with re-hashed scenes of Superman using the time travel method to stop the arrival of Gen.Zod, Ursula, and Non. This version was shown in Athens,Ga-Clarke County area on Direct TV. I hope it will never air again!

  • @Heterogenius1 That must have been the Richard Donner cut...which I have on DVD. It came out a few years ago. Basically this is the version of the movie as it was originally intended to be, before Dick Donner was fired from the movie. (He was making Super 1 and 2 at the same time). The 1st movie was not going to have the time travel method..just the 2nd one.

  • "once there was a civilization much like ours but with a greater intelligence" . LOL.

  • this is still the greatest Superhero movie ever made..

  • @SuperstarRichardG the dark kngiht is too

  • 77 people don't know what they're missing. They probably think Twilight is the best movie ever. This is a classic.

  • "I'm back, Mr. Luthor!"

"Yes, I was just talking about you. You were followed again."

*Otis spins around and knocks a lamp over*

"... In spite of those cat-like reflexes."

  • this trailer gives me goosebumps

  • i wonder how much of lex luthor footage was lost with all this

lois superman clark is there any lost footage of lex luthor

played by gene hackman if so i'd like to see it

  • i salute you son of jor-el . . . i salute you, son of krypton

  • This is my favorite movie in the whole world, lol. I am a nerd. I am 35 yrs old and 3 years ago my wife and I had a baby boy whom I call Christopher Kal-El. Yes folks my son has the coolest name in the world.

  • Thank God for Jor-El's wisdom and compassion!

  • @jordanforever21 Your right thank God for his wisdom and compassion to send his son Jesus Christ to this earth to save man kind. Thats why i like the superman movies so much cause it comes straight from the bible.

  • I heard Marlon Brando would show up to the set drunk as fucking skunk and have cum stains on his shirt. from partying with Jimmy Olsen.
