  • Nice Jeeps guys...I drive a 2004 Rubicon and my dad has a completely stock '51 Willys M38. I really wish he would do some rebuild/ upgrades to it sometime...have fun !

  • @scottsyellowrubicon1 thanks for the compliment. My dad has a 53 highhood that is all stock

  • Wow I thought I was the only jeeper that was a fan of coe

  • @schizm99 Haha, If you listen close you can hear my 7 yr old singing a long to it!!

  • haha looks like a blast

  • @guntic1122 It was a blast...just wish we had some snow this year!!

  • are you loafed out at all?

  • @guitarsfl Loafed? Did you mean locked? If so, yes, arb's front and rear.

  • @rcjeepers meant aired down

  • @rcjeepers meant aired down

  • @rcjeepers meant aired down

  • "OH WHAT THE FUCK!" haha

  • jeep should bring back the cj5.

  • what type of tires are you guys running in the snow?

  • @Ready2Run1 The orange high hood (mine) is running toyo mts and the red 2a is running iroks. the cj5 is running bfgs and the mb in our other video is running bfg crawlers

  • low air in tires=more grip and more fun

  • Northern California and that is one hell of a COMPLIMENT!!!!! Thanks and hope you enjoy our videos

  • @rcjeepers - where in norcal? we'd like to take the scout out there.

  • @kellybikeco This is up highway 50 just outside Pollock Pines. This video is taken on Mormon Immigrant Trail. We are planning another day trip in two to three weeks. If you think you might make it send me a message and I'll let you know when we are going.

  • @rcjeepers - nice! yeah from the looks of it, you were experienced the classic "sierra cement" that day. it looked heavy, wet and slippery....

ive gotta finish up on the D44 front axle that im building for heather's scout before i have a proper 4WD with matching gears... dont think ill have it ready in 3 weeks.... but thanks for the invite. when i do have it ready ill drop you a line to see what's up.

  • @kellybikeco ya, it was pretty hard and icy.

  • Damn, i'm not sure where you goes are from, but you would make some real fine southern rednecks.

  • I'm really loving that wagon at the beginning. looks like a lot of fun. Makes me sad there hasn't been any good snow here for my cj to play in.

  • My friend has a 1953 willys race jeep lifted on 44s. thing goes literally anywhere.

  • Beautiful Jeeps...but you guys are arent real bright!!

  • I asked someone else on another video, but do you guys consider using snow chains, or is that considered cheating, or is it adverse to the trails? Just curious if they help at all in those conditions.

  • @DBenton459 I have never run snow chains on my jeep before. I have been told they really only help in icy conditions. With the tire speed that I typically run at they would most likely come apart and destroy my jeep or kill someone so I have never even considered trying them.

  • some good looking Jeeps...

  • @DBenton459 thanks

  • where were you?

  • Where was this at?

  • It was a steel line that came out of the master cylinder. It broke at the 90 degree bend where it mounts to the frame through rubber bushings. Just years of frame/body flex got the best of it. Hope you enjoyed the video!! Thanks for watching

  • how did the brake line break?

  • the red one, i think its the cj5 is pretty fucking badass

  • so whatcha boys end up doing about the busted brake line??

  • @nvydvr81 drove to the auto parts store and picked up some spare hard, flared new ends on it to fit my lines and bled the brakes. Had it done in about 2 hours including driving into town for the new lines.

  • i hear that ive spent time stuck but still had a lot of fun. lol

  • u guys spent a lot of time stuck. did u guys have any fun?

  • @78ginop LOTS!!!!!

  • hell yeah your jeeps sound like my cj5. like a pissed off tiger is under the hood. are you running straight piped?

  • @22mpb Thanks!!! It has a 2 1/2" exhaust that goes from block hugger headers two into one with a single flowmaster.

  • very nice... where was this?

  • @idriveageo1 On iron mountain road up past sly park in Northern California

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't get the title at first, "Weekend on the strap". I get it now. Hopefully my 79 will look like your rigs someday. Awesome video

  • @rangaman86 Who cares what it ends up looking like as long as it gets you to the trail!!!

  • @rcjeepers Well it gets me to the trail. Just not far enough on the trail. haha

  • love the flat fenders

  • @stolikc024 thanks

  • Tallest skinniest tires are best for snow 'specially with the old lightweights. Real nice rides though!

  • @MegaLuckydog1 When the snow is over five feet deep its really hard to get traction with skinny tires. These aren't the first sets of tires we've run on these jeeps. The wider tires help these "light weight" jeeps float on top. We also use these for rock crawling and driving on the trail and we have found that these combinations work best for us, thanks for the advice though and hope you enjoyed our videos.

  • @rcjeepers Ya dude my bro had a stock cj3a other bro had a pick-up dad had a 64 f head cj I have 2 pickups a 454 prop and a 7.3 IDI and had a 64 bronco a 67 fj yota and a thing called an Austin Gypsy. I hear you on the snow depth. Beauty rides you have there. Make more vids.

  • @MegaLuckydog1 If you have already checked out my page for more videos you can also find more on sd46jeep and 98sas4runner here on youtube. Thanks for the compliment and for watching our videos!!

  • Long live Willys Overland!

  • love the jeeps bro nothin better than a classic

  • @slederboy Thanks for the compliment

  • Hey bro make more vids of u guys off roading great vid!!!

  • music sucks!

  • @2012goingNutz Then mute it or don't watch my videos. Its that simple.

  • @2012goingNutz fuck yea

  • Do you know why the older cj's dont like to turn corners while flat towing?

  • @buttmanroad There are a few things that can cause this. One, having a locker in the rear, they are very short wheel base, and improper steering geometry. You can try using a longer tow bar and make sure you have a bungee cord wrapped around the steering wheel tying to the roll bar to help return the wheel to center. Hope this info helps you. Hope you enjoy our videos too!

  • @rcjeepers Hey thanks alot. And yes your Videos are Awsome!!

  • Paddles in snow...

    Bad idea...

Tried it on a quad once...

It was like having casters on the rear wheels...

The back tires would not follow the front tires.

As soon as I started moving, the back end went sideways.

It was fun in a field, but scary on a trail.

  • @VMX540fan Thanks for the advice. I used to run them on my race quad in the snow and loved them but I wasn't sure how they would/wouldn't work on a jeep. Probably just saved me a good chunk of change!!

  • So, you guys went to the snow......without any chains?

Does. Not. Compute. Help. Me. Please. *sizzle* *pop* *melt*

  • @TheDeJureTour what would we need chains for? Two of the jeeps have winches and yanking someone out with a chain is no fun. If you put slack in it you just break stuff, and broken chain flying through the air sounds a little dangerous to me.

  • @rcjeepers I meant chains on the tires!

  • @TheDeJureTour NEVER!!!!!!!!!! If we start having too much trouble we'll just air down more. With how wide our tires are we can usually float on top pretty good if we air down, just like you would in the sand. I would like to try paddles on mine though!!

  • @TheDeJureTour By the way....NICE SCOUT!!!

  • @TheDeJureTour Chains make sense only on ICE. Yes, I carry tire chains in my snow jeep. I have never installed them. Never needed to install them. Siping does wonders. Check out the siping section at snowtrek.org. My centers are siped and I have just started siping my outer lugs. The more I sipe, the better they work. Check out the siping on the XJ with 38 inch Baja Claws at SNOWBATMAN99 on YouTube. I may be siping that much by the end of December.
  • Thanks for not putting music on the video.

  • @VMX540fan I know, its about time isn't it.

  • beatiful video! cool jeeps guys!, what v8 on the cj-3?

  • @jeeperscreepers78 The orange 3b has a sbc 350 that has a holley pro jection. Glad you enjoyed our video, we really enjoy making them. You can also visit sd46jeep for more of our jeep/snow trips.

  • This is my favorite video!

  • @98SAS4runner mine too, until next weekend

  • added to favs! AWESOME video and bad ass jeeps!

  • @ScRoTe1992 Wow, what a compliment!! Thanks man. Check out some more of our snow vids. Im sure you'll like them as well.

  • @rcjeepers not a problem! would love to have some info on that 2a! soo beautiful! and where did u get the trailer man?

  • @ScRoTe1992 2a has 350/350 with a 300 t-case with a 4-1 kit and twin stick. Dana 44 front and a tera 60 high pinion rear both with ar b's. Spring over with reverse shackle The trailer he built from scratch. Yes....it is even nicer looking in person than it is in the videos!!!

  • Watching this put a : ) on my face.

  • @Robinson4643 Glad you enjoyed it!!

  • Awesome jeeps, got a 46 2a im about to start redoing. What motor you running?

  • So a 3 inch lift with spring over axle will fit 38's? just should lengthen the frame

  • @passst1 lengthen the wheelbase. If you are running a longer spring (like wrangler) you will need to lengthen the front and rear of the frame in order for your springs to work. You will get more flex and a nicer ride with the longer springs too. I would suggest going with a good quality spring too. Bds, rubicon express, alcan, etc. These will have a better ride quality and warranty.

  • That's really only a 2.5' lift ? I'm restoring a 53' cj3a and I want to put atleast 38's on ! what do u think i should need for a lift?

  • @passst1 It's a 2.5" lift with spring over axle. That makes it about 6" of lift total. The high hood is running 37's that measure out to like 36.5" I wouldn't go any larger than a 36 unless you lengthen your wheel base out beyond 85-86". Both these jeeps have lengthened frames. the 2a is at about an 84" wheel base and the 3b. is at about 83.5.

  • That's really only a 2.5' lift ? I'm restoring a 53' cj3a and I want to put atleast 38's on ! what do u think i should need for a lift?

  • Both willys have bds 2.5" springs, reverse shackle and spring over. The 2a has 36" iroks and the 3b has 37" toyos

  • Amazing looking willys ! I'm wondering what you have for a lift and tires ??

  • dang gotta love that 1946 cj2a willys hard to find those nowadays nice to see it running

  • You need an ARB Snatch Strap or a Bubba Rope. I have the ARB. Perfect for this kind of recovery. Looks like fun. I am finishing building my CJ 7 for the second time in as many years and can't wait to take it out in the snow again!!! Thanks!

  • @flyinghigh370 Thanks for the tip, I'll check them out. Hope you enjoyed the video and good luck with your jeep

  • Hahaha great video, maybe you should get a tow strap with a little more flex. Nice Jeeps

  • @tk250r We broke two or three straps that weekend...we were getting low on straps!!! Thanks for the compliment

  • @100silverpizza who are the rich stupid jack offs? Not sure I understand where you are coming from with this comment.

  • Any updates on the R&P. I gota buy it while I can-

  • @98SAS4runner Tried calling today, left a vm and Im waiting for a call back

  • i like this one!!!! very nice jeep!!

  • @oskarabr75 Thanks for the compliment. The orange 3b is mine, the red 2a is my brothers, and the red cj5 is a friends of ours. Glad you enjoyed the video

  • Sweet flat fender! We are headed up there next weekend. It's a small world because a friend of mine has pictures of the wagon that you waved to in this video. I guess they went wheeling together.

  • Thanks for the comment and compliment.

  • Too bad you guys couldn't find any Red jeeps to play in the snow with. Looked like a great week-end! Where was it?

  • @jeepcj5100 morman emigrant trail aka iron moutnain road in northern california. The high hood is actually orange!!

  • Looks like a nice weekend!

  • Great video! It was a good trip,I am surprised we only broke two straps. For more jeep videos go to sd46jeep.
