When Flocke said that James never had any free will and that Jacob was manipulating every move James made to bring him to the island, it made me think that the alternate timeline is one where Jacob hasn't been "calling the shots" and rather, it is one where the Man in Black is in control.....I don't know just a random thought.

"197 - Sheckler" and "202 - Hargus" are both references to the " Opie and Anthony" satellite radio show ..

Sheckler and Hargus are both characters played by one of the hosts... 202 and 197 are the channel numbers.

a few people behind LOST are fans of the show , so they put the names in there as a goof.

I don't think that you HAVE to be dead to be crossed off. Maybe Jacob just thought some people were unworthy of taking his place for example-Miles. And I think that Kates and some other peoples names are actually etched into that room but just not on the ceiling where it was visible to us. Maybe there were some on the ground or the walls. Maybe we only got to see a small amount of names.

i reckon that the island is split between good and evil, with jacob being good, the new locke being evil, as since jacob is now dead locke throws the white (good) stone in the sea, keeping the evil (black) rock, the numbers in order have locke as 4, and he is the first one to die out of the people with the numbers, and kwan is last, so maybe jin and sun are the last people to be on the island, one turns good, the other turns bad, and the whole island start over again in a repeat of time. :)

I was thinking,Flocke said that James never really had free will and that Jacob was pushing him, well I remember reading that the Devil has banished from heaven because he opposed God and he believed that people should make there own choices but god supposedly didn't want people to make there own choices. kinda like Jacob. I think I'm looking into things too much though.

@dylan49ardmore I think you are misunderstood. The devil was jealous because people had a choice to worship him but angels didnt. There sole purpose was to worship god and do as he commanded. He felt that as we humans had a choice, then god loved us more than the angels so he rebelled.

I do believe you did misinterpret that. The Devil opposed God, yes, but he wanted to overthrow God, or have as much power as God does and that's why he was cast out. God is the one who created free will.
