Especially compared to an actual job and it sounds like Molly's in a pretty senior position at MyDamnChannel now so she's probably making even more than she did at Rocketboom. With this in mind your argument makes no logical sense.

All the evidence suggests she just wants to make youtube videos for fun again, something she couldn't do while she was at Rocketboom for various reasons.

There are people who make money just off of ads and then there are partners who make money per view too. Recent partners have been getting a $2.50 per 1000 view contracts. Molly has gotten over 53 million video views which means she has made around $135k in her 5 years. $30k a year when you factor in ad clicks. Sounds like just enough to live off of but just little enough to put out a cluster of vids to catch up on bills.
