  • wm8 all over again awesome

  • 5:35 - Watch the fans look away. Based on the other comments here, no one else seems to know for sure what happened. Most likely a fight in the crowd.

  • Unfortunately this match can't touch the one they had at Wrestlemania (for the Intercontinental belt that time) because Hot Rod's hips were in such shitty shape.

  • Damnit.... I just uploaded this on my channel. I didn't know that somebody else had already uploaded it. Oh well at least I didn't have to split mine into two parts. I got it all in one video.

  • roddy piper is hot---still is hot after all these years!

  • Both od these guys were out of their prime here

  • Bret took a little too long faking the groin attack.

  • I was there.

  • I hate Tony Shavonie here. I used to like Shavonie when he called Ric Flair matches in the old JCP but this is where i understand how fans say Tony sucks because he does. And Tenay sucks too. Just because he knows all the mexican moves and japanese moves doesn't make him great. His voice just sucks.

  • I like Bret's music here. It's pretty good considering they delt him shitty.

  • this is one of the main reasons WCW started going down real fast around this time, they had the chance to stage two of the biggest WrestleMania rematches of all time (Warrior vs Hogan and Bret vs Piper) and fumbled big time on both

  • WCW should have kept the old entrance and the old ring, 2000 WCW sucked in every way

  • 3:24... Bret knows when he's been Tango'd!

  • @Gorrrillla5 It's not just you. Bobby Heenan attests to this in his book "Wrestling's Bad Boy Tells All". He mentions that he doesn't respect Shiavone and regretted leaving the WWF for WCW. Said it was one of the down points of his career. Shiavone was involved with a lot of backstage politics and was one of Bischoff's "Boys". He got away with more then a regular announcer would in those circumstances.

  • While WWF was showcasing Rock, Austin, HHH, Taker, Angle, Jericho, Hardy Boys, Dudley's, New Age Outlawz, DX, Chyna, Sable, Trish, Kane, and the rest of the WWF draws, WCW was giving us Piper vs. Hart....yeah...

  • @krazygreen Not only that, but they were being featured in midcard title matches which are supposed to be for up and coming wrestlers. Not two guys who had built a Hall of Fame career at that point.

  • Man, the old Piper would have just gone ahead and stomped him in the groin. And that would have been funnier.

  • Roddy Piper is the bests

  • I would like to know who was booking WCW from this match until the end of the year, this looks like WCW when it was still pretty good. By the end of 1999 WCW was absolute crap

  • Why is security running at 5:37?

  • @Millwall77 ya i saw that 2, and at some point in the match everyone was focusing on wat was happening up at the rafters instead of the match. i think 2 fans probably got into a fight or sometin.

  • @kevfanbsb it's funny how the announcers trying to do their best to ignore what's going on in the audience, there is Bret being attended on and everyone looking away

  • This match plus all 3 of Bret's matches against Sting were good - should have been on the Bret DVD, which really minimized his matches there.

  • @hydrophonicspace Don't forget Bret vs. Benoit in tribute to Owen's death. Good match, too bad it'll never be showcased due to the Benoit tragedy.

  • @krazygreen

It's on Bret's DVD. And Thus, was his only WCW match he bothered to put on it.

  • 5:36 ??????

  • the referi is named mickie james lol

  • micky jay

  • Damn I had no idea that Roddy Piper held the United States Championship so many times what a beast

  • interesting enough, these 2 are actually cousins.

  • that is not true

  • it is true. search for piper shoots on russo, "did you write in, the death of my cousin owen?" search the web, youll find they are related as cousins through their father stu hart

  • its here on youtube as well

  • @ravelicious wait huh? what you mean?

  • @ravelicious Its mentioned a bunch of times that Stu is from Saskatoon, and guess who else was born in Saskatoon?

  • @ravelicious The Harts all thought Roddy Piper was related to them, but Bret Hart said recently on his twitter that they recently discovered that wasn't the case. Piper was a close friend of the Hart family but not technically a relative.

  • @ravelicious

Incorrect. Roddy is stating that Owen is his 'cousin' out of close friendship. That's what Piper does.

In Bret Hart's autobiography, Bret talks about pretty much every member of his family. Not ONCE do you hear Bret refer to Roddy as a blood relative or 'cousin'.

In fact, Bret even describes meeting Roddy for the first time, which was at a WWF house show. If they were cousins, they would have met much earlier. I think you took Roddy's TNA promo a little too literally.

  • i was going to that!!!!

  • @nwowolfpac11 maybe you can tell us at what exactly everyone's staring at 5:37

  • they are not second cousins, it's a rumor.
