@Zenziba95 lower magnification ...26mm - 55mm are great for viewing deep sky objects such as galaxies and nebula, as well as a great somewhat panoramic view of stars. very amazing to see, i recommend the televue panotopic 35 mm
i dont understand why if you have a wider field of view with a lower magnification that will make the eye piece expensive, well after all you can use no telescope at all and have the wider view that you can get with no zoom at all...
I had 2 pieces in my telescope the one with the greatest zoom was smaller, i tried to look at Jupiter and with the lowest zoom i could see only a bright ball like a star, i with the greatest zoom that was something but i needed still more
@shantikiran1000 This is Astro-Photographer Jules V. shantikiran1000 you will NEVER get 360x, The maximum your Telescope will ever get is 60x per inch of Aperture or your 50mm. Achromatic Objective is 2inches(50mm.) 2inchesx 60x=120x ultimate Maximum Magnification NOT 360x!!
I can see his eyepieces are Celestrons. I own a six pack of their brand including a set of filters in a metal case. Very nice and an excellent investment. Often times you'll run into cheap eyepieces with most telescope outfits outside of the thousand dollar range reflectors or large SCT's
@chuananrock, edu-science telescopes are no more than just toys that advertise based on magnification and not aperture. I used to have one when I was 9. Apparently, the image quality is bad and the tripod caused the stars to move away as soon as you center it.
Thank you for showing me how to use a Barlow lens. I have been given a telescope with no instructions and wasn't sure how it fitted together - I do now thanks.
could i make a kiddie telescope stronger by adding a stronger lense ????

What would be the purpose of lowering you're magnification, also are there any smaller lenses aviable than the one that came with my telescope.

Nice, but doesn't really explain the inner workings of these lenses. We need diagrams to illustrate these points.

things get dimmer and less clear as the magnification goes up! so its better to use a lower magnification in viewing or looking an object in the sky

one of the things i learned today!
(length of the focal length of the telescope) ÷ ( length of the focal length of the eyepiece) = magnification!!!!

@SoumyaSumitra You should be able to see Jupiter quite nicely.
It's in the south-east(Northern hemisphere) at about 2am.

@Vijster1 They are used with refractors to allow a "right-side up" image for terrestrial viewing.

I know you did not mention variable barlow lens but are the 2-3 variable any good and would you recomend them or are they low quality.
