  • How Precious! You are doing great teaching this son! Back to basics! Good Boy!

  • oh tell your son that garden looks great, terrific job!

  • @isawanangel2 thanks for watching..im not getting response msgs sorry i didnt reply very quickly..

  • thanks for watching, im the oldest of 7...sounds like you come from a good Catholic family too...lol...i want my kids to know how to survive...even if we get lucky and they never need to garden...im betting on harder times.

  • Nice vid, love the Southern accent!

  • yumm iv got some deer that would go great with that

  • @tyler55g thinking about geting one next weekend..thanks for watching tyler

  • Nice patch. Make sure the food police don't catch you (if only that was in jest...Senate Bill S510, HR 2749).

  • @0urGaia nah they wont bother the greens...the tree hugers will get me for them...they make methane gas lol

  • @centervilletn haha .

  • one week for that broccoli wow. i wish that stuff would grow here. next year we are building a small green house to try and grow in...

  • @FixedByDoc it was more like 60 days to maturation...but a week in Adam time, good luck with oyour green house, thanks for watching

  • @centervilletn ok sounds more likely and i fully understand the kid timeline lol.

  • @centervilletn LOL - I got a kick out of how fast he said the broccoli grew. I'm up in MA, but I know that things do grow faster in the warmer south, but not that fast. I grew up growing a big vegetable and fruit garden with my dad - am one of 10 kids. That was an invaluable experience for me that has served me well. Best thing you can do for your kids - show them where food comes from and teach them to grow, prepare and store fresh harvested veg and fruits. It's healthier, free from chemicals.

  • Hey there Adam, you're definitely a "chip off of the ol' block,....thanx good buddy for informin' me that ya can also eat the turnip greens, i knew spinach, chard, beet greens were edible but not turnip greens.Thumbs up Adam and thankin' ya all for an AWESOME UPLOAD!! = )

  • @qualqui longer you cooke them the better they taste...all day is good , second day they are better.

  • nice to see the kids out in the garden......great vid

  • @pinetar100 thanks for watching pinetar, iappreciate all your uploads

  • Good to see your garden doing so well, not much to report from here, broccoli was a bust, just micro blooms

    Hi Adam, good job

  • @CTOL1 dont forget you can cook the brocoli leaves or make cabbage rolls with them..the whole plant is useful and taste good too

  • LOL The apple & the banana sweeten it up. if I need more I put a touch of raw honey. Remember the commercial for life cereal with Mikey, " Try it, you'll like it"

" Hey, look, Mikey LIKES it" LOL

  • Nice...my kids saw that and we are inspired. Thanks!

  • @CoinsFreedom i dont know what the future holds but i want to know ive given them the skills and confidence they need to survive if the worst happens...The youtube vids with the kids really motivates them...they love knowing how many comments they get and keep very close eye on it.....

  • wow, and he even knows the recipe to cook them. Try asking normal kids abt this stuff and they wouldn't have a clue. I bet they could tell you the latest videogame out....name some NBA players or recite the words to their favorite pop songs. Good job Adam...ur well on ur way with "practical skills" and useful skills.

  • I don't think I've ever ate a turnip.

  • @vonhismean you got to try them....raw they are like a radish...cooked similar to a potatoe

  • ...Very good..! I also love turnip greens.

Also heard the turnip itself is more healthy...

    Thanks...

  • @yedon68 the seeds we bought were supposedly "purple top turnips" and were supposed to have the turnip but it appears to me that they were not labled correctly

  • Nice they look good Adam your gardening and cooking skills are special because I hove none.

  • @davincij15 Thanks davincij, Hes a pretty good helper ...

  • @economyvsstate Thanks Noah, Im trying to keep them interested enough learn how to garden ....and not make it seem like a huge job...im tricking them into it by exposing them to all aspects of it a little at a time...

    howd the show go?

  • Greens look good.Your son did a good job. We have turnips already pulled a mess of them about a week ago.

  • @Larryd1001 i like them cubed up, boil them till tender, drain add salt, pepper, butter and just a very small amount of sugar to bring out the flavor..(1/2 tsp or so)..raw is good too

  • Excellent pickin Adam. I can see you have a green thumb like your Dad and Mom : . ) I just finished picking the last of my tomatos and its mid November ! I still have beans planted and radishes beets and green peppers. I am noticing my peppers love it in the cooler weather.

  • @NWOIS666

He is just like his momma. we have radishes , cabbage and brocoli left...not much else..i let everythng else die off...we got some very nice sweet potatoes this fall. In January we will begin our seeds so we can get a jump on the spring and maybe dodge some of the heat and bugs

  • I make my green smoothies in my blender with kale, spinach, beets, celery, frozen blueberries, garlic, bananas, apple... I know it sounds gross but oh mt goodness it's good! Try it... you'll like it! Nice video , Adam!

  • @cheesestr4wz id have to add something to that ...maybe an oliveand some vodka..lol..ill have to take your word on how good it taste.
