  • I'm 17years old diagnosed with PCOS AND rheumatoid arthritis.Doctor told me that if I wont get married by 19 I wont be able to be a mother ever.50mm & 30mm multiple cysts respectively in both of my ovaries, gained 45pounds in 4months.Kindly pray for me.I really love babies..cry alot in depression.

  • so after watching this, I probably have it. great :(

  • @conversekitty20 go to sleep, court.

  • Birth control hasn't helped me for 17 years. Several doctors have told me that PCOS is a "made up" disease. An endocrinologist told me it was a "social disease." I eat 1300 calories a day and run 20 miles a week and I cannot lose one stupid pound. The hair on my head is falling out while the beard under my chin is growing in quite thick. At 31 years old I have more acne than most 15 year olds. Some days I feel like giving up, but mostly I just trudge on. Thanks for the posting the video.

  • Right, I'm 15 nearly 16 and I think I could has this.

I have hair on my face(a little moustache) and belly. My periods are becoming later and later every month.I sometimes put a little weight on but then lose it really fast.In between periods(when your supposed to ovulate) I get really bad cramping in my pelvic area and depression.I can sometimes feel really happy at one minute then really down the next.

I have been booked in the see a doctor at hosp.

I was just wondering could these be a sign?

  • Well, I saw my doctor today and yes - I have PCOS -.-

  • OMG i had that same dress at 2:36.. :)

  • @molsen4960 It was fairly popular, lol.

  • I had this diagnosed at the age of 14, like last year. I had all of the symptoms and this made me scared... Somehow :/

  • @alwaysjustmine there's no reason to be scared actually. in fact, two of the best things you can do for yourself are: know your body and document its changes. at that rate, every bit of pcos information you come across won't cause you to panic, cause all of it does not apply to you. <3

  • @Forlaniz3 I had all of the symptoms :/ at the same time it kinda explains a lot.. I kinda got used to hiding behind clothes and stuff..

  • @alwaysjustmine i hid behind clothes, too for fear of peer scrutiny, and i realize that it takes awhile to get out of being so COVERED (i wore layers, and was usually covered from the neck down), but that's so insane! just live! listen to your body, and if people wanna say smart stuff, you can either tell them to suck your non-existant balls, or yeah... just tell them to suck your non-existent balls, because they mean what to you? absolutely nothing. *MASSIVE SMILE* :D love yourself.

  • I have all the symptoms except diabetes, cancer (not that I know of) & acne - getting some tests done next month to see what exactly is going on with me & whether or not I actually have it :/ atm I have a thicker beard than some men & I'm having it removed (laser) -.- so something's definitely not normal.. I just hope my doctor actually takes me seriously this time

  • @wickeddarkness what tests did you have, and what are your results? i'm curious. how are you doing lately?

  • @Forlaniz3

I'm still waiting for the results... I had to give 2 blood samples & I still have to get an ultrasound... the waiting lines are pretty bad here... like, the doc discovered a heart murmur back in january, but I have to wait until the middle of April to get a consult with the cardiologist -.-

  • @wickeddarkness keep me posted. so, tell me, with the heart murmur... does it limit you from doing simple exercise? are you out of breath?

  • @Forlaniz3

No - but I do have heart palpitations from time to time :/ I hope it's nothing serious... It looks like it's something new because last year everything was "normal", apparently...

The doctor did say that he's almost certain that it's PCOS, but yeah - we need to wait for the results to be sure...

  • Great video. I'm 30 and PCOS has been giving me grief since I was 10! I say f*ck this crap too! I'm amazed at the number of women who have it. When you think about it, I feel sorry for all of the women in past generations who had this, but never knew what it was and didn't know how to treat it.

  • @lbuch80 glad to see the feeling is mutual, and i too am amazed at the *growing* number... can't call it a pandemic though, although i really wanna, lol. how are you doing?!

  • Great video, Brach! :)

  • @ChrissyCherie thank you, darling! how is your life?

  • I didn't thought that it could be possibile to lose weight. I was diagnosed at 16 and i'm 19 now. I have also hypothyroidism but it doesn't seems to exist a solution to me. I eat every day good, no bad stuff, but i'm still growing and feeling more bad everyday. I hate PCOS.

  • @MietzeTaty i feel you on so many levels, but i need for you to not give up babe. it just takes us a lil longer to see results. i work out often, and trust me, if you keep at it you'll see...

  • LOL. IDK if it was one of the mood swings that are one of the rampant symptoms or it was me really feeling what you said but I was on the verge of tears the whole time I was watching this. This...sh*t... has held such a strong hold on my life for the past 10 years of my life. And being that im uninsured it makes it 10x worse. I'm trying to go the all natural route and see how that pans out. This vid was more uplifting to me than the positive ones lol. Thanks.

  • @crenee328 i wanna laugh and hug you at the same!!!!! LOL what are you up to now?!

  • I just found out about a 2weeks ago that i have PCOS. since then i have been taking metphormin and had nothing but high protrein foods and water. Currently I've lost 8 pounds. The only thing I'm worried about, is that my doctor wants to do a sonogram. I am a virgin and I'm really freaked out about having a stick shoved up my pekachuu!!!!! Is it really necessary to have a sonogram done??

  • @DTtwilight77 Im a virgin too. Were you diagnosed just through a blood test? Was it done by your general doctor, or gynecologist? I have an apointment in october and I've never been to the gyne. Just wondering what I'm in store for.

  • @smilesarelove111 I've been going to see doctors for about 9 years about why i wasn't having a period, only recently i went to a gyne.Yes, I was diagnosed through a blood test.Since then my gyne. has tested my female and male hormones, my thyroid, cholesterol, triglycerides, and a diabetes test. She also wants me to get a sonogram, which i'm not comfortable with.So far the only medication i'm taking is metformin and spironolacone tablets. She also suggested i eat more protein and drink water.

  • Thank you so much for sharing ur experience with us!!!Its gr8 help ;)

  • Brach...this vid is sooooo you....super informative...Team Brach all day

  • @SeptemberGroup get outta here, cbw. lol.

  • the thing that sucks for me is i also have hypothyroidism w/ PCOS

    But you look great.

  • @girlytubegirl i've gotten fatter (rotflmao)... but i DON'T look like the Stay Pufft Marshmallow! lol

  • i have pcos too and it ruined my life. in my teens i weighed 180 .. i amazingly had one child (6 yrs old now) i now weigh 245 at 27 yrs old and can't lose the weight.. i go to the gym and eat good but nothing helps. and the facial hair is so bad that i cant even get a job because i dont want ppl to look at me.

  • Bracha, excellent video! No matter how much we try to tell the "normal" people, they will never understand what this disease does. Diagnosed at 26. Symptoms started at 13. Birth control actually made it worse! So glad you did this because people need to know!

  • i was diagnosed at 16, after my mom took me to the doctor because i havent had my period yet. I'm a fatass at 180lbs even though i dont eat much, lately ive been getting zits like mad, my face is ALWAYS greasy,vi have some hair growing on my stomach, some weird discoloration going on between my boobs, my hair has gotten a hell of alot thinner in the last few years. im 18 now and been on the BCP since 16 it worked up untill recently, now it seems everythings going to hell again...

  • EXACTLY! and that's what i've come to realize through experience. how is life for you? better? less complicated? do share.

  • my pco is really bad at the minute but i love this video!!!!i am 31 but have acne,a beard and moustache and awful pelvic pain and my hair is falling out!!!!!!! this video made me realise i am not alone

  • I WENT FROM 120 TO 160 FROM A MODEL TO A KOOL AID GUYS SIZED PCOS SUFFERER... NOW I MODEL AGAIN AND AM AM SO MUCH MORE HAPPY. sorry for the caps.but its my excitement. I sleep better with less weight, have cloths I thought id never wear on my skin...L carnitine is a life saver trust me anyone who reads this... why teh brand from Twin labs because I tried GNC and others and just did not get the results as I did with the other...i also have sports related injuries so hardly any exercize

  • Bless your heart! I have PCOS too, thank you it's nice to not feel alone.

  • you're very welcome...

  • I'm 17 and was diagnosed with PCOS after two or three years of BS. I was wondering if anyone knew: how old the youngest person was to be diagnosed with this? is this curable? In Canada we have health cards in which most of our medical items and such are covered for.. I wanted to know why some of these symtom removals are not part of this.. it seems unfair. I'm not removing facial hair & etc to just become 'beautiful', its so that I can be 'normal'.

  • 17. that's how old i was when i was diagnosed, however, the symptoms started years before. if you think back on your health over the years and ask yourself some questions (you don't have to answer them here): -how old were you when your first menses occurred? how did they fare years after-- heavy, moderate, light, spotted, long-lasting, sporadic. try to remember when you first developed hair issues, which might reflect hormonal and weight issues as well. it might go back to childhood.

  • I was diagnosed at 14, so not sure.

  • I was 12 when I was diagnosed so I never in my whole life have experienced a "normal" period...

  • and I'm going on 25 now

  • I was just diagnosed with PCOS yesterday. I have chin hairs, I'm obese (my weight fluctuates a lot!), really bad dandruff, dark patches of skin, and I get my period maybe 5-6 times a year if I'm lucky.

I'm glad I was diagnosed, but I'm mad that this is happening to me and no other females in my immediate family have these issues. However I know I'll overcome it all one day.

Thanks for the video. It's really inspiring.

  • it dose make u mad but your not on your own im also angry i get facial hair skin tags brown marks round my neck ect, acne and last but not least im about 3 stone over weight. but if u dont pick yourself up u get misrable and u can overcome it best off luck.

  • you have a right to be angry, but don't wallow in it too long. i'm glad you've been diagnosed, because now you know what's up, and you know there are ways to cope w/ it and eventually *get rid of it* after dedication to a total lifestyle change. i'm still working on it.

  • thanks for this video....sometimes i just get so mad for having this...

  • you know, at first you'll need anger to fuel you to change... and then, once you've worked on a plan of action and attempt to execute it, you won't need that anger anymore.

  • I haven't been diagnosed, but I've had almost every single symptom in the last two years. The worst part is the fucking mustache. I don't have insurance, so I haven't seen a doctor about it outside of regular checkups. I haven't been on the pill in like six months, and I've had no periods. I'm gaining weight like a mofo, although since I've started seriously restricting my calorie intake and getting exercise I lost two pounds. That feels great after steadily gaining pounds.

  • I just quit taking my metformin and bcp (Birth control pill). I got tired of always taking medicine. I've lost weight. Its really weird. I just went from 248 to 215 in like a month and a half. I was taking metformin 500mg 3x day and I dont eat much at all. Hell, before my body did the big screw you I was bulimic forever. What I dont get is I got pregnant on the pill (misscarried because it was ectopic), If I had pcos and bcp I wouldnt have ovulated. How the hell did I get pregnant?

  • I used to have like 2-3 month gaps between periods (then bleed 30-45 days straight). They put me on the pill, but I quit 11 months ago and haven't had a period since.

Thing is, I only had mild weight gain (sz.12 to sz.13), no facial hair (although everywhere women get hair, I get TONNES), no skin tags, not much acne (couple zits)...

Do you think I could have PCOS? After seeing what you wrote about diet, I realized I may be controlling a lot of it by being a vegan... what do you think?

  • PCOS could very well be a factor--especially with the missed cycles/ long flow. i hate to be gross, but have you witnessed huge clots? the hair growth could be hirsutism, and when was the last time you had your thyroid checked?

i personally wouldn't go full-out vegan, because meat/ fish/poultry in moderation aids in providing what the body needs, but if you feel you must go/ continue veganism--make sure you get all of your vitamins and supplements. see a nutritionist, too.

  • Wow this is awkward... I signed in as my boyfriend by accident... I'm going to sign in and reply as myself now... :$ :$ :$

  • Ok this is really me now ;)

Actually, yes. I also hate to be gross... but I got a Diva Cup, in part because it's less wasteful and in part because it lets you check how many ounces you're losing. I witnessed huge clots, particularly about two years ago before I went back on the pill. I haven't had my thyroid checked, but my nana has a bad thyroid... this is looking bad for me.

  • i checked out that diva cup... WOW! WOOOOW! lol that is awesome. i learned something new.

  • Isn't it the coolest? :D

  • *gah* it must be god's will to make women always have to stuff things up their [beep]. lol.

  • lol I guess so... unless you're me, of course, and haven't had to stuff anything (unwanted) up your [beep] for over a year - LOL!

  • (continued)

I'm always careful to make sure i'm getting all the nutrients my body needs ;) It's more than possible to live a healthy life as a vegan, and in fact after as long as I've been doing it, it's quite easy. :) It's even recognized as a safe diet/lifestyle for all life stages, now. :D

It actually helped with acne, I used to have breakouts every week or so, but now I only get one or two zits every now and then, usually when I'm crazy-stressed.

  • I enjoyed this video because I use a lot of terms like "fucking PCOS" or "god damned hair" or "piece of shit Metformin" or "bastard ovaries".

Mostly in a light hearted sense, but you may get the picture. I was only diagnosed in Feb of 2008 & I recently (as of last week) started taking Metformin because organic remedies of exercising & dieting was not helping me. My testosterone was still way too high.

    Keep up the good work.

  • well babe, the truth is that i've slacked off a lot. my last semester in college was hellish, i was slightly depressed, and i gained weight cause i stopped exercising--not cause i stopped eating healthy. c'est la vie.

i "get the picture," trust me, i do. LOL! i don't curse as much now, and i'm sorry that the hippy didn't help you so much. maybe it's cause you might be TOXIC? read the book Toxic Relief by Don Colbert. see what you find... so, do you sound like a man? LOL! hawt

  • What an excellent video.. you have summed up how I have felt since being diagnosed with damned PCOS seven years ago!! And the struggle continues, going to see my consultant on Friday. I have been through two unsucessful cycles of hormone injections and im getting geared up for my 1st cycle of IVF... Good luck to ALL of you out there who struggle with PCOS symptoms on a daily basis, and especially to anyone, who like me are trying for a baby.. x

  • so, if i may ask, how did the ivf go?

  • Hey! did not go well... got to the hospital and theyve decided that I should try lose some more weight and keep using the damned puregon injections! Am really frustrated because in the 4 years that we have been attending the clinic, we have ended back at square 1! I think we are going to go privately and switch clinics. Thanks for asking! x

  • Your video was perfect. Everything I see about PCOS is so *BLAH*!!! Like, "Don't let PCOS run your life" or "The earlier you take care of it etc etc" (from non-sufferers) and the symptoms are simply listed as what they are. So I like how you added your own flair to it and voiced exactly what I'm sure every girl out there with PCOS feels inside :) I know it's what I feel. You made it seem beatable :) My PCOS is getting worse and I was inspired by u to work harder at it! :)

  • i believe it is beatable. however, i also know that on this "pathway to wellness" any number of setbacks are possible, and it takes an attitude of willingness and determination to not let that setback derail you. but, being realistic: you don't always want to exercise, or take medicine, or eat right, or whatever, so, i think taking all of that into account can help pcos women feel more at peace. possibly. maybe i'm just rambling.

  • Thank you for this. I was diagnosed in late 05. Reconfirmed with an obgyn in 06. We need to band together.

  • this video was awesome thank you

  • you're totally welcome! :)

  • now, that's the truth. pcos is a bitch and a half... it's made ME a bitch and a half... sigh. great video, though. seeing someone who can empathize is good stuff for the soul. grouping is cathartic- and i suppose it always has been.

  • a woman who uses the word "cathartic" automatically has my heart. i love that word... "catharsis";P

plus, grouping can be cathartic as long as it's progressive. *smile*

  • I love it....right on the money. You speak for all of us

  • i was diagnosed with pcos when i was 12 or 13 i'm just about to hit 21, almost 10 years! and i didn't know a lot of this information. kind of shocking

  • i do believe that my pcos started right around 8 or 10, because i gained weight out of nowhere although i didn't eat crap i played & more than a normal child. it got *interesting* when i was 12 and the menses started... ha! i won't go there on the comment board. lol.

  • great video. My jaw dropped when I saw the picture of the eczema skin spots in your video... holy crap I fought those for years never knew that was part of my PCOS!! I am 39 and was only diagnosed about 2 years ago after about 20 years + of PCOS hell (when I just thought I was a fat hormonal depressed misscarrying infertal nutcase) and rows of stupid doctors who never saw it. Thanks for getting the word out!

  • crap yes, babe. eczema is equally as sneaky as pcos itself! however, after watching a slew of the discovery channel's Mystery Diagnosis-- a lot of things that occur in our bodies seem like isolated incidents when in fact they're all related. my only problem would be accurately documenting each incident as it occurred. so, are you still a fat, hormonal, depressed nutcase? ;p

  • Not quite as fat, depressed or nutty... but still have pretty big hormonal swings. They have me on metformin, and I eat carefully and have dropped a lot of weight(down to a size 10-12), but my hormone levels keep being in the scary range... so they up my meds... bad side effects! trouble with vision... sugar cravings off the charts... Dr throws up her hands and leaves me hanging... Not having fun yet. :P I head in for more blood work at 7 AM tomorrow.

  • So, this video is awesome ! I have also pcos and have problems with some simptoms but some things in your video showed me that I have to change..in a better way... Thank you !

  • you're very welcome. change starts small and over time the results are HUGE (and beneficial).

  • I liked this video. The only thing is that birth control or metformin do not really fix PCOS. They are only pieces of the puzzle. You have to go to a reproductive endocrinologist and get the hormonal imbalances addressed. These may be different than the hormones in birth control. Also remeber that BCP have many cardiovascular risks which add to the same risks in PCOS. These do not diminish once you have stopped taking them.

  • i agree with you about BCP and metformin only being pieces--not long-term solutions, however, i'm not keen on cardiovascular risks not diminishing after discontinuation. where did you find that info? i'd like to read it.

  • THANK YOU! I am a 42 year old woman who has struggled with these symptoms most of my life. I was lucky enough (I guess) to have two kids early in my life. But I've still got skin tags, hair on my chin and chest, and mercurial weight loss and gain. Now, I can go to my doctor and ask that I be tested for PCOS. You are a god-send and thank you for putting together this perfectly informative piece. May the Christ Consciousness be forever in the center of your life.

    Andrea

  • you're welcome, andrea, and thank you for the blessings. :D

  • I stumbled upon this when trying to find information about fertility and metformin. I like what you've done here. It's amusing and informative, and it doesn't go on and on like some women I've seen. Seriously, people, ridiculous amounts of hair, acne, and crazy weight problems isn't the end of the world. And I'm saying this at what I hope is a weight peak! Stay positive! ++++

  • THANK YOU! THANK YOU! lol you speak the truth! i hope you're staying positive. ++++ ;p how are you coming along in your progress?

  • i was diagnosed with pcos today

im only 17, and im going crazy

cause i eat healthy, but im scared that im going to go huge like some ppl are saying they did, im scared, coz i know for a fact if i get fat,or put on abit of weight, i will go anorexic and not eat, coz i lose 2 stone in less than a month not long ago because i was rly depressed always have been, abit of a wierdo i gess lol, but, u wudnt think it if u saw me coz im alrite, im slim, long brown hair,"pretty"aparently,i jst wna no:(

  • ok, sweetheart. when i first read this all i could think about was "CALM THE HELL DOWN" and cut the dramatics. pcos obviously afflicts anywoman--no matter how thin or young you are. you need to continue to eat healthy and exercise. yes, you may gain some weight, but as long as you keep cool and do right, pcos may or may not affect you the same way as it has others. i'm very sorry you've been diagnosed, but guess what, it's not the end of the world, and anorexia is a cop out.

  • be happy that youve found it out pretty early, pcos effects everyone diffrently. there are some pcos cysters who are skinny and dont gain anything at ll while other put on weight no matter what they do and some have managed to find the right balance of things thats work for your body!

information gathering and finding the right docter is the key.

  • My PCOS is going untreated. Haven't had a cycle for over two years. I get random spotting when I am very stressed or have had emotional trauma. I sometimes get spasms in my ovaries. Wonder what that is. Last I checked, my body was producing a horomone that causes tumors. *Shrug.* No medical coverage. My mom was doing research about people doing research on how it is caused. One theory was a soybean formula I was on as a child. OR maybe heridetary. She had endometriosis.

  • Birth control will help regulate your cycle. I don't have health insurance either, but what you can do is go to Plan Parenthood and get on a sliding scale. I actually get my birth control for free from them because I'm in such a low income bracket. Just don't tell them it's for PCOS or that you don't get your period. They don't need to know that (And they won't give it to you then)

  • Well, I'm usually not for being sneaky, but since I see and understand the situation I would suggest you go to Planned Parenthood and be tight lipped about the situation. I just hope that you can get some health insurance soon and have a plethora of tests run to know where you stand.

  • Other than the language very good description of PCOS, but you left out the mood swings and self esteem issues (lol). I hear ya-and march right in the same footsteps. But rather than dwell on the bad, I CHOOSE to be a happy person with radom moments of anger (grin).

  • i'm making a new video as promised...less anger. no cursing. ;) i figure "one foul video is enough..." lol

  • I liked this video because dispite the swearing (which doesnt bother me anyhow), it is to the point, and really shows the frustration that goes with the syndrome. I am sure Forlaniz is a happy person in general, but she has given everyone a glimpse of her more challenging moods. Which is also a symptom. I think the video showed mood swings right the way through it, she just didnt type it onto the screen. Your doing great Forlaniz, keep up your great work.

    Hugs to ya babe!

  • HA! MOODSWINGS! You know, with every comment I receive, someone sees/ points out something I never saw or something I didn't purposely do. An English professor told me that "once you publish something: the meaning is no longer in your hands. It's up to the reader..." (well, viewer in this instance).

Yes, Forlaniz is a very happy person in general with fewer mood swings since taking vitamins, LOL! I'd hug you, but you might melt. I appreciate your comment and thank you very much.

  • p.s. i rarely watch this video, but if i should watch it i always end up counting the number of curse words throughout the ENTIRE THING! *rolls eyes* lol

  • LMAO!!!!!! You sound just like me, I tell people all the time, that life fucked me. I have PCOS too and am currently seeing a reproductive endocrinologist; hopefully me and my husband will have a brat soon. :)

  • YOU ARE A BRAT! LOL! WHERE ARE YOU STATIONED? ;p

  • Fort Stewart.

  • Small.flippin.world. I'm parked in Columbus--.02 seconds from Fort Benning and about 250 miles away from you! :D

    I'm available for adoption.

  • My husband went there for basic. I know Victory drive! :D

    Hummmmm....I don't think you'll like sleeping in a crib. :D

  • Being an Army brat myself...we know how to adapt, so crib life ain't no thang. Plus, Victory Dr. knows me better than most people, LOL.

  • LOL, I've had the pleasure of sleeping in my husband's issued tent. I think I could too. :D

  • wow... ur a phenenomal lady! this has REALLY motivated to know there's hope. YOU GO GIRL!

  • thank you, babe. will you make a video of your AWESOME PHANTASMAGORIC PCOS EXPERIENCE?!

  • i have pcos diagnosed 2 yrs ago

im going to a chriopractor to make me a healthier person hopefully reduce the fertility problems w my pocs etc and taking cinnimon as well

    cin

  • it's been seven months since you wrote this. how has going to the chiropractor and your cinnamon intake helped you with PCOS?

  • thank YOU. this is awesome. you're awesome!

i'm 20, have been dealing with pcos for 5 years and am sick of having to butter it up for everyone, including myself..

    it sucks. plain and simple.

thanks for saying it how it is minus the bulls**t.

    best of luck xx

  • it's been seven months now liree... how are you doing with your PCOS progress?

  • You have to be careful with meat because that to can have hormones in it. With smone who already has a hormone disorder it can't be good. Thanks for posting the video though its inspirational.

  • you know, i live on campus, so the food choices are dire (just as the salads, etc), but i understand about eating the beef. TRUST ME. i rarely (RARELY) drink milk and i have to re-ween myself off what little beef i've been eating. ;p

  • this video is really good! it really helps me a lot,to live and wake up everyday thinking about this condition!

  • well, ya can think about it, and hopefully you're not allowing it to defeat you. hey boo: all isn't lost. ;p

  • Thank you so much for this!! I just found out I have PCOS and I have been looking for information and everywhere I go I would see these stories about infertility and it made me so depressed...I could watch this like 50 more times I laughed so hard :) I'm really scared about the health risks but this video was an amazing help

    Thanks again!

  • well, i'm sorry you've been diagnosed w/pcos. its like a selective plague or something, lol. however, i've somehow managed to stay out of depression--and that's by surrounding myself with good people, eatin' food that won't make me feel guilty, exercising and laughing a HELLA LOT. there's no drama in my life. i'm quite peaceful. can you get to that stage? ;p

  • I loved this! I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in 2007... then after treatments the endocrinologist diagnosed me with pcos. I have high cholesterol, hair in places I shouldn't, excess weight, whacked out periods... I am on Yasmin and I am also on Metformin. I just got this book 'The Insulin Resistant Diet'.. I am going to give it a shot. Question for you.. Why no pork? Good luck.. Helen

  • hey helen. from what i understand, lots of people get misdiagnosed with lots of HEAVY things only to find out that its PCOS, and while it may not kill you, it does make things a little harder.

i don't eat pork because it truly is a filthy animal. its got so many worms, and even after you cook it, the worms are still there. its just horrible. ya gotta research it.

  • I started to take metformin and it was working for me until it stoped... they upped my dosage to like 3 or 4 pills at a time... i am so relieved that other women like me are going through this... only one of my friends has the same issue but for her metformin is helping... some days i feel so dicusting that i dont even want to get out of bed... my friends dont understand and maybe now that i know these videos are here i can show them... so i thank you so much....Katie

  • well katie, i've felt like that, too. many times i didn't want to go places or lost interest in things, and i truly believe that it was DEPRESSION.

however, i'm not one to mope around although despair seems like it can take over. you have to overcome it. nobody else can do it for you.

  • Boo!!! you're making me blush! *blushing blushing* does the provera and metformin really work well with you? i'm nervous about getting on meds. i don't want to go back to meds!

  • Awesome Awesome Video.. you tell it like it is. I like that. No bullshitin with you.. I have PCOS since 2001 and am on Provera & Metformin. Keep up the good work. You look amazing!!

    Namaste,

    Boo

  • hi im 27 and i get ezema on my scalp, leg patches 3 and im always fat omg the hair on my upper lip 1,000 for laser it off and 2,000 for my neck and upper lip again cause it grew back...well i ve known about it for 7 years and now im 6 weeks pregnant after trying for 6 years im ssoooo happy. nice video i realate to it

  • i like chicks with hairy lips...it's a turn on, LOL! however, congrats on your pregnancy! that' awesome: the ability to bring a child into the world. so many people take that for granted until they want one and realize they CAN'T have one. i bet you've got that "pregnant woman glow", too. :D

  • Awesome Video.

I basically eat the same foods you do, minus the meat. Its working for me. Fuckin' PCOS. Wont beat me. 155 to 130. :)

  • HELL YEAH! keep kicking ass baby.

  • Fantastically done! I've had PCOS for years and am sick of women simply whining not taking control/responsbility of their bodies...I love your approach to it and hope more gals with our disease will see it!

  • i too am sick of whining women! they grate my nerves simply because they let this dis-ease run them and i REFUSE to let this bitch (the disease) run me. you seem to be kick ass. i'm kick ass. i just wish that those whining women could be as kick ass as we, LMAO! wow, was vain or not? LOL!

  • Vain? Hell no! People that meet me are AMAZED after they really get to know me that, at 25, I've not only had a history of PCOS, but also Crohn's disease, thyroid cancer, endometriosis, and the list goes on...I come across as healthy because I strive to keep my heart and soul healthy...who and what we are is NOT our what our bodies and health issues happen to be!

  • Geez. You got stuff about this disease spot on. How you view yourself and the symptoms of it mainly. Good job!

Also, I did the same thing. I haven't taken meds for years. I just make sure that I eat right, and for the most part I see myself getting better.

    So...congrats on all the progress!

  • antagonist or protagonist? which do ya wanna be? lots of women choooose antagonist, but not me. if i chose that it's like choosing death, and i want to live and live healthy!

as for you, it's awesome that you're off meds AND you see progress. that's the driving point: YOU SEE PROGRESS. good job, homegirl. congrats to YOU.

  • I have had to join, so I cud leave a msg abt ur vid. Its tip top & has had me bad laughing. Your view on is spot on, 5yrs ago I was suffering with weight gain, BIG prob with hair on my face, makes u real paranoid & self hate. Lucky for me my GP was fantastic & I got 7 sessions of laser hair removal on the NHS & a comb of Metformin & Cyproterone Acetate, I now only have small bit of fine b/hair which u can only c if you stuck a torch in me face. Just wanted to say vid hellish.

  • hellish! mad hellish! thank you. you cracked me up. i feel bad for those who have beards and such, but i kind of miss my sideburns, lmao. i think my eyebrows were thicker at one point, but such is life, LMAOOO! i'm honestly scared of metformin. i don't wanna take that shit, but it works for you, so you keep doing you girl.

  • Yep metf, its bloody awful stuff I would not take it if I was not so hell bent of loosing weight. If I'm honest been on it for three years & i have maintained my weight with it but not lost much, I'm still only on 500mg a day, as anymore makes me ill, should be on 1500mg.Told my GP to "Do One" not taking any more than I do. I Don't have any hair now which I'm so pleased, a chick with blond hair and dark hair under chin is not a look I wish to have again.Ang

  • You go girl. I did the same thing but a little different. I eat all organic RAW food. Nothing cooked and no meat. I have show no signs of PCOS for 6 months now. I also juice all my vegetables and fruits and so some detox. Keep it up!

  • you go, too! look at you! raw food. you're a better woman than i. i've been eating horribly since moving into the dorms on campus (and it's showing), so, now i end my days with 5 mile walk/jogs around the field and drink tons of Fuze and water. ;p

you've inspired me to kick it up several notches...

  • It's a terrible disease to suffer from, but it's good to know that someone else understands what it's like to have PCOS, if that makes sense.

  • it does make sense. ;p

  • i know what you are going through!!!believe me

  • how are you doing NOW? what are your symptoms like? a doin' alright babe? :D

  • was there any need for all the swearing? pcos causes a lot of distressing symptoms but not terets

  • It's called the DIRTY version for a reason-video description says it all! If it was too vulgar for you--the CLEAN version is called "Living With PCOS for Projectpcos". I know very well that PCOS doesn't cause Tourette's (check your spelling before correcting someone, Sweetheart). However, the cursing was necessary FOR ME (did you understand that?). It was part of my healing, or whatever you want to call it. I'm not apologizing for jack. You had the opportunity to cut it off.

  • try therapy then. instead a dirty mouth part of your healin watever.. i didn't ask for an apology for or JACK!!!. freedom of speech and opinion is my right so i aint apologising for jack either. message for everyone else metformin is good and trying for baby clomid can be useful. good luck

  • HA! You're a real smartass, however, if you read the vid description you would have known what you were getting into, and I bet you didn't read it (or read it thoroughly). Ignorance is another right you have, too! LOL! ;p

  • 10 fowl words ruffle your feathers. Yes it IS raw cause I'm not looking for sympathy or a pity crew. I expressed emotions my way which excludes whining, crying, or even self-pity because that's not how I operate. I'm not knocking down those who may have come across in those other ways in THEIR chronicles. That's part of their healing as well, but that's not how I RUN MY CHRONICLES. If you don't like that don't come back, and have a lovely day.

  • obviously a bad attitude are your main symptoms. maybe you should at the link between positive attitudes and happiness and the effects it has on health

that may improve your attitude and other symptoms of pcos. instead of moaning about a syndrome that you,i or anyone else who has this awful thing. information is comended to you and apreciated. but criticism and opinion is a sore point i see.

  • opinions are fine, and criticism is fine to a degree, because I forewarned the viewers 2 times at least of language. the title has "dirty version", the description reads that there's cursing and the first few seconds of the video warn the viewer of language. so, viewers have a choice to view or not KNOWING FULLY that language would present itself...so, you still could have gone someplace else.

  • and as for my attitude, contrary to what you think, i'm quite the happy person--not "high" happy, but enjoying life and i'm very content to be honest. this video is one aspect of me, it's very one dimensional, but you'll believe that if you want. i'm in as good a health as i can be with this syndrome and i'm much better off than most. don't box me in chicky.

  • i had an e-mail that u replied to me but i cannot find the answer. can u help me?/

  • i don't see it in my sent messages! ;(

  • I was dx 20+ years ago. I had 7 m/c's before the birth of my daughter then son. I know of very helpful websites if you want to contact me.

    Good luck ladies

  • Thank you for this video. I was diagnose with PCOS just days ago (7/31/07) and its hard cause i never knew all the things i went through as a teenager had anything to do with it. My symptoms are horrible beyond belief,i have already had a miscarriage and my mother does not mind that this is all happening. It helps me know that other women arnt just letting it happen that they are fighting it...

  • You're welcome, PB. I'm sorry that you've miscarried. I hope I never know how that feels, and at the rate I'm going I think men will forever be on the back burner. What kind of treatment are you on now? Do you see any changes yet? Do you feel different?

Write me at any time. I just might call ya to see how you're doing (if you want to).

  • can u ask why u dont eat pork i have pco and do should i be avoiding it?

  • cause, pork is UNCLEAN even if you cook the bitch till its BURNT! eat it less and less, because there's simply too much shit going on in pork. i've watched them be slaughtered and cleaned and its just pure filth that comes out of them. believe it.

you'd be wise to research the nastiness of pork...all the way back from the bible days, lol.

    that's all. have a wonderful day! :)

  • Thanks so much for this video, i have recently been diagnose with PCOS and put on the Yasmin pill too.

  • Isn't it wonderful? It's making me itch now...surely, this will PASS!!!!! LOLOL! Keep on truckin', Miss Missy Becky. :D

  • I started going to the gym to deal with the weight issue- the high testosterone and almost no female hormones saw me blow up, loose my waist and yet grow huge breasts. The doctor tried me on a double dose of the pill which brought my waist back but gave me such abdominal pain that I've decided I'm glad I am unlikely to ever go through childbirth. The pill finally stopped working and I'm loosing my waist again, still, it was nice while it lasted. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one out there.

  • I've really been thinking about what to say to you that wasn't a "flippant" answer (it's not like my other ones were flippant), but I can sense something about you--something really deep. Maybe we should write personally.

  • I have PCOS too and am losing the weight veeeerrryyy slowly... Congrats to your achievements!

  • *Nah, it's just you....LOL!* (falls on the floor laughing)

  • You ROCK!

  • YOU ROCK HARDER! *crushes grape soda can on forehead*

  • HAH. I heart grape soda. even if the cheap brands make your poop green. (it ain't just me! It's a FACT!)

  • Thank you so much for posting this video, it gives me the confidence to live my life although I have PCOS.

  • YAY! yes! LIVE IT!!!! Go hiking or biking or do something physical *coughotherthansexcough*, lol. You'll become addicted, and the best part is that it's a GOOD addiction. *smile*

  • Thanks so much for this video, it touched me so much that it made me cry (and i hardly ever cry hehe) It made me realise that i have tried to ignore my PCOS even though i was diagnosed 8 years ago. I love the jargon free, no bull approach.

I have gained 50 lbs in 6 years and i just can't seem to lose it. I'm at my heaviest now, this video has inspired and motivated me to change my lifestyle and try and combat my PCOS.

  • The feedback I get on this video gets me teary-eyed at times. I swear its the fluctuating hormones cause normally I'm emotionless, lol. So, with that being said GET OFF YOUR ASS NOW SWEETHEART! We have healthy lives to lead and examples to set and shit like that. C'mon now!

I like how you wrote that "jargon free, no bull approach". Wow, sometimes I surprise myself on how *KARATE CHOP* I can be. Let's go!

  • I love this vido , the best part was the weight loss..i remmebr i kept getting so fatttt, i finally started met and exercise diet and got down to 147 i was so happy but then i got pregnant , had a baby and now im fat again..tottal bummer

  • you know, i'm totally happy that you were able to conceive. that's a miracle right there. i hope that you and your baby are doing well.

*man...if there was another way to throw this issue at the general public once more...it would be awesome* i guess we'll have to wait till i'm a celebrity maybe? lol

  • Wow!! Thanks so much for this video!
