Those pickups really bring out the tone of the guitar. they are clean, and a bit dirty at the same time. It almost sounds like a "natural bite" rather than a forced kind of sound of traditional pickups.
yeah, they actually (the company says this) are more transparent, like your amp settings and effects have a bigger impact on your tone, and if u plug into an acoustic amp then it sounds acoustic
Depends on how you look at it. In Lace's parlance a 'Sensor' is a single coil pickup and a 'Dually' is a twin coil, HB size pickup. The Alumitone is further a 3rd generation TranSensor design.
dude this is the best pup for metal cant tell here but you could have like 20 boss ds-1 in your guitar in line and it sound great each note rings out so its not muddy at all with infinite gain its the perfect pup in my opinion
Stags, I'm neurotic as hell with tone too. I had my Strat packed w red silver blue set. I'm freakin lovin the clean sound out of it thru my 76 twin reverb. I need more tight distortion tho and I'm not gettin it. I tried it thru a Marshall vintage modern and a Bogner alchemist and it sounded shitty. I'm wondering if my Strats TBX is holding it up?
post a vid of u just strumming some chords with the alumitones. Im considering getting some, but im not really sure exactly what they sound like in that type of guitar. i have a guitar with a mahogany body and neck. pls do a demo. thnx
Not knocking on the player in any way at all, but this video does these pickups no justice.
Only because you need to hear tehm in person to get that incredable tonal range these puckups make. I have a set on my Epi LP Custom Classic and it is amazing the diffrence between these and an EMG or traditional pickup. Alumitones FTW! Also If you like "diffrent" pickups, check out Q-Tuners.
One of the videos for Lace says that if you use the Alumitones through an acoustic amp it will sound like an acoustic guitar. I'm sure that's exaggerating a bit, but have you tried it?
like the playing good job, but i got a question, im looking for new pickups for my squire strat, and im looking for a pick up that will give me the sound of an american strat or better or a clean smooth tone. but i want to keep the stratocaster sound if you know what i mean, can you recomend somthin maybe?
They make version of alumiton for strats the fit a standard single coil opeing. They also make pre-loaded pickguards with the alumitones all wired up. Give those a try. These pickup don't make a guitar sound like something its not. They have their own sound. They would sound good in your squire. The lace sensors in Eric Clapton strats also sound great. You could try some lipsticks also.
try lace sensors. they have lots to choose from, so you could get say a gold neck for a typical strat neck tone, and then blue or red for middle or bridge for hotter sounds
go for the lace holy grails. They sound amazing. I am a bit obsessive about guitars and tones, and i find you almost always have to choose between living with the noise, and losing a true strat sound. with the holy grails there is absolutely no noise, and you can barely tell the difference between that and a strat. the only major difference is the output, which means you will be able to use more distortion, and the sound will be warmer.
They are probably the most clear/clean of anything I've ever played. Thats good or bad depending on the sound you want. They sound more like a humbucker than a single coil but still have a top end. They don't overdrive my amp as much as the stock gibson burstbuckers, but have almost no noise. They still are hard enough more metal, and very crisp. They do have their own sound. The guitar still sounds like a Les Paul.
wow this sold me on these pickups they if i can ever get an electric

yeah sound like yellow ledbetter for sure good job man

It's still in fact a humbucker pickup no matter what design you buy, it's just very low impedance and a major engineering improvement.

How are these pickups better than stock or normal pickups? I'm asking this as a guitar noob...

Nice clip. Just FYI though, the 'Sensor' is a different stand alone model of pickup. These pickups are simply known as Lace Alumitones.
