@MegaAd98 I've been playing for about 3 years now and I've been stuck with a cheap ass Strat, and a Jackson King V is great for heavy metal. Dave Mustaine used to play one so now you know that it's good for Megadeth. And you'll need a good amp too. I recommend getting a Line 6 or a Marshall $250+. Now I don't have much experience with playing different guitars but I know what's good with Megadeth and Metallica and that's a Jackson King V

@MegaAd98 Listen, a great guitar is a guitar that feels good. Ignore strings when trying, you can always replace em after buying. The strings should not be diagonal entering the nut. A Jackson might not be the best choice. Mine broke quickly. Make sure you focus on how the guitar feels. If you're looking for easy access to 24th frets, Ibanez. Heavier sound, Dean or Jackson. Sound is mostly in amps, though. Look for how it feels to you. Play a solo. Is it smoother than your current guitar?

@TheChrisHimself Digital cameras are not going to capture a lot of balls. Both ESP and Jackson can deliver as shown by many artists so it really is down to your personal preference. I like Jacksons. :)

@Kidnapper89 L500 and Duncan DDJ Distortion. The Duncan is older from the time when there was no SH or TB markings but it's basically the same as the SH. On TB version the pole spacing is just different to match the Floyd Rose string spacing - it's not a big difference to my ears.

@EchoedTears Good question. I never studied music. I was a late starter at age 20 and I learned by playing my favorite songs from tabs and reading guitar mags. Later on I started to write my own music, play with a band and also learned to figure out songs myself. I'm still learning new things all the time which is a cool thing about guitar playing. :)

@ozmarley I always use an overdrive pedal. Usually Ibanez STL for Megadeth stuff. For delay I use a Lexicon PCM41 when I need it. The old Megadeth songs are just a little bit lower than standard. I just tune to the CDs by ear cause neither E or E flat seems right. I guess it's somewhere between those.

@soummobd The guitar is a Jackson KV1. It the same as a KV2 save for the Kahler fixed bridge and LSR tuners. The KV1 was discontinued at the end of 1998. I was one of the lucky few that got one of the last 12 ever made. Damned things are worth almost twice as much now even in poor condition.
