@samboy1288 this has absolutely no hardcore influence at all. its just the theme of all swedish metal bands. and around the time of this release and natural born chaos. in flames was also really big at the time with Colony and Reroute to remain and they both pulled from each others sound. but yes melodic death metal and melodic metal. there is no hardcore in soilwork at all.

Dave Lombardo is a very respected drummer and has received accolades from various drum publications. As for playing fast, its creates an aggressive effect that suites the overall tone.
