  • @zProvide Me too :)

  • WTH ZEB

  • It takes a real bitch to cast him off so discourteously.

  • Going to see these guys in AUCKLAND in like an HOUR!!! :-D Had a Masterclass today and was phenominal!!

  • Beautiful

  • Had the pleasure to see them today in Sydney, absolutely great

  • Too a capella-ry

  • Theone at left of the principal voice is JAMES BOND!!! ... mixed with Charlie of Two and a Half...

  • OMG such a Legendary song

  • Green Sleeves an instant classic for any family. Buy your copy today!

  • Hold on, wait just there! The Kings Singers only sing three verses when there is infact supposed to be about thirteen (not including the chorus')...Why don't they sing ALL of the lyrics? They have amazing voices and so I wish that they'd have sung all of the song...I'd have loved to hear them sing the whole thing! Oh well...so, does any one know why they did that?

  • Bravo.

  • Divine!

  • I´ll never forget this day

  • i will love this song in every day till the armageddon

  • @Wolgg me too

  • Goosebumps!

  • they're soooooo good. Fantastic!

  • 12 people wish they could harmonize like this

  • absolutely beautiful~~

  • VERY STUPID QUESTION, HERE BUT I'M JUST CURIOUS, DOES THE UK USE BOOM STANDS DIF THAN IN THE US LOL

  • @InIJah UK folks am that gnat's knacker taller than wot US folks am... it's a world away, of course.

  • @zroppian word, i'm just surprised it's not standard... i mean i'm sure the UK uses stuff like Avid Software (protools) and such...i assumed equip would be equal. but all the gear is the same in terms of cables right? (like you use XLRs) I've only done one gig in europe in paris and that was acoustic jazz, so i know nothing about PA setups in Europe or the UK

  • At a time like this, my favorites button isn't working.

  • wow thats all i can say

  • This is the song that the workers at Merlins Mound in England would sing while mysteriously moving 20 ton blocks of stone with only two men and a couple of sticks....True Story

  • I'm singing this song for a competition for my choir in March :)

  • Gay justin beiber

  • @imatuner have you tried using the "L" key?

  • As much as I love this song, am I the only one who noticed it sounds a bit like the Christmas carol, "what child is this?"?

  • @skytiger859: did you notice that "what child is this" was written in 1865, and "Greensleeves" was written way back in the middle ages, and played on that banjo looking thing

  • @skytiger859 Because What child is this is an arrangement taken from Greensleeves. Greensleeves came a good few hundred years before the carol!

  • a11 i have to now from what i said before g1ade i never seen em 1ive cause we11 id probab1y tear up simp1y beautifu1 voices and very very ta1ented singers.

  • Marve1ous fina11y came across the most proper version

  • this is the best thing...of anything

  • Beautiful.

  • 9 dislikes??? 9 stupid heads?

  • nice combination

  • beautiful, enchanting

  • 1:52 I think the copper statue was singing :-s

  • @ABCBLB hahah serious

  • You English folks have such an amazing culture ! Greetings from France !

  • @JiyuNokenshi Most of us feel the exact same way about France =D

  • @bewilderedkettle Hope our two cultures can cooperate as long as they did for so long forgetting all those conflicts from the past and relying only on our common ideas and interests. Just like her majesty Victoria kneeling before Napoleon's coffin with her son and our soldiers singing God save the Queen during a WW2 victory day parade in England. Our two revolutions happening exactly a hundred years one after the other can only be a sign !

  • Very nice.

    That is all.

  • Comment removed

  • Beautifull..

  • fantastic!!

  • i luv the king singers!

  • i luv the king signers! they are the best evar!

  • I'm singing this at my winter concert as a solo:)

  • a little fun fact for ya. Now tradtionaly everyone plays/sings it slow but if you play the melody with a flute(and fast) it can and was used as a tavern song.

  • 9 people have blue sleeves.

  • Seriously, Justin Beiber mentioned on this even....

  • This song never fails to move me.

  • @SmileChicky you really shouldnt be picking fights with people if u are defending JB because you are making it seem that he is as annoying as you AND there is a chance people might start hating him because of you!

  • That last note gives me chills every single time I watch this video.

  • @IDKsc00terProduction Definitely got chills on that last note too! :D

  • Greensleeves

  • Musical*

  • To the girl that thinks Justin beiber can sing better then these men is STUPID! I'm sorry, but these guys are not auto-tuned and this sig is a beautiful old English song from king Henry VIII to his mistress meaning this song was not made for a boy that actually knows nothing truly muaical

  • @L0v3inLif3 I'm sorry, I'm the stupid one? You're the one that seems to present solid fact that this composition was made by Henry VIII for his mistress. I'd hardly call Anne Boleyn a mistress. However the fact that you seem so solid in your conviction that you KNOW the origins of this song amazes me, please enlighten some scholars, eh? They'd love that because THEY'RE not even sure. There's another theory the song (which is most likely Elizabethan, but lets not mention that) is about a whore!

  • i absolutely loved the last part :)

  • very nice :)

  • @smilechicky I betchya he can't sing it without a microphone and make as good of a soud then them /:)

  • @videlbroly his vibrato would shake your soul

  • Pffffft Justin Bieber could sing this with more soul.

  • @SmileChicky You call what Justin Bieber does singing? Interesting.....

  • @sdg3x7 Singing, soothing souls, blessing our ear drums. Whatever you wanna call it =]

  • @SmileChicky Awww a small teen crazy fan girl. Thinking Justin Beiber can sing better then these guys, haha that was a nice laugh. :D You do not know what true music from the soul is. They do not need to be auto tuned to sound great.

  • @TheWitchOfMiracles Um yes I do. Other wise I wouldn't be a Bieber fanatic. He's changing the world, and all you're doing is hating on him cause you wont be remembered in history books. He will. Hurts don't it? Someone you find so talentless, so pathetic will be written in history books. I guess I'd join the band wagon of hating him too if I were an anime geek. Distracts people from remembering how embarrassing you guys are to the human race, right? Pure gold, pure talent, pure Bieber.

  • @SmileChicky There is a difference to being just a fan and being a crazy stupid fan. Justin Beiber is like any other rising star, High School musical, Miley Cirus and other teen pop idles, what makes him so different? Cause he hadn't the greatest life in the beginning? Boo hoo, so did many others. Oh and by the way, anime fan or not doesn't have to do with this. Actually that's quite the contrary, crazy stupid fan girls like you is what even bothers Justin Beiber to go insane. I see no talent.

  • @TheWitchOfMiracles I am awolfirebender and I approve of this message.

  • @TheWitchOfMiracles awesome come back :)

  • @SmileChicky wow im still amaze on how someone can sound soo obnoxious when defending justiin beiber.... i mean seriously he isnt change the world~! hes just famous he is not changing the world!

oh and btw i am a jb fan >.<[im not obsess w/ him though

  • @SmileChicky Justin Bieber could sing this with more soul???? that is probably the most stupid comment i have seen since i started watching youtube. Seriously. I mean just... i have nothing that I can say just seriously???

  • @rooiakkidis1 Since I can't be bothered playing along anymore, consider yourself trollololed :)

  • @SmileChicky Thats not trolling, thats being retarded.

  • @rooiakkidis1 RIGHT? I've worked with the King Singers in workshops and how one could ever compare an a cappella group that has been in practice for almost 45 years running to a confused little boy that sounds like he's had a clothes pin stuck on his nose, stuffed into a metal garbage can, had the lid welded shut and rolled down a rocky hill is entirely beyond me... The lack of respect and generational gap here is just staggering...

  • @minacciatriplice You are extremely lucky i wish i had a workshop with them. Anyway I doubt its a generation gap cuz im almost as old as Justin and i love these kind of music. BTW nice explanation of his music xD

  • @rooiakkidis1 Ahhh, I see, then there is hope for your generation yet, I pray there are more like you!! lol ;-) I am glad to hear that you have such reverence for a group that deserves it so much. Thank you. It was a gift to work with them, I was probably about your age at that time then and extremely fortunate to run workshops with them two years in a row. The kind of knowledge and love they impart through their music is almost tangible. Much love!

  • @minacciatriplice ahah seems like it. I just happened stumble upon the king singers after searching for blackbird - Beatles covers and i found their version. I loved it and i wanted to hear more and that basically made me the big fan i am today and watching them live helped even more. I cant wait till the next time they come to perform here.

  • @SmileChicky Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @manonthemoon516 obviously not

  • who has arranged this?

  • I have to listen to them sing whenever I can't sleep. Thanks KS! Love from Singapore.

  • Amazing that a simple English ballad can stretch so far into different countries.

  • Listen to this gives me the willies, specially at 2.26 <3

  • @DrYaoi same here...dr. yaoi xD

  • @PaulThePuppetier Secretly, deep inside, you love that name xD

  • @DrYaoi shhhh...ok nice name,but I dont like yaoi xD

  • @PaulThePuppetier Yaay <3 xD

  • puff puff pass to this!

  • unit1587 that is sad to hear but greensleves was not the name of the lady.

  • If greensleeves was alive right now she would be delighted. this song reminds my of my dad. he used to lay this song on the piano. He died about 4 years ago. rest in Peace Dad.

  • @unit1587 Im so sorry to hear about your dad!

i know the feeling. i mean, i know that a dog and a dad don't really compare, but she was like a little sister to me and a daughter to my parents.

Rest in peace to your father

  • @unit1587

    rip.

  • Beautiful!

  • Too bad the Brazilian public does not like this kind of music we would be another nation!

  • @mellopreia I'm 16 old, from Brazil, and I love this kind of music. ;)

  • I'm so sad that Philip is retiring from the group in January. I love his musical arrangements. I'm glad that I got to chat with him briefly after a concert last December, and wish him well.

  • The King singers are my favorite! Philip in particular makes my heart go pitter patter with his gorgeous voise, eyes...oh just every thing! I cant keep my eyes off him, I mean them. What talent he has! I mean they all have! I love mens voices in harmony.

  • The King singers are my favorite! Philip in particular makes my heart go pitter patter with his gorgeous voise, eyes...oh just every thing! what talent! I mean they all have!

  • é a perfeição da música !

  • Goosebumps and tears.. Wunderfull!

  • moves me to tears. TEARS, PEOPLE. thats when u know good music.

im in love with all their songs, but this is my favorite by a long shot.

  • And people still listen to Justin Beiber...(-_-)

  • @CoolioBB Sad people!

  • @CoolioBB that baffles me too

  • 7 people do not know how to appreciate the REAL sound of music!

If youtube vids would get scratched like cd's do..I would have scratched this vid 50 times already for so much times i have heard this song! I love old folk music and Im Mexican!

  • I can't get over how RICH their voices are! The chords and the falsetto.... Oh, it's so clear, so spot on, so balanced, it's amazing.

  • thumb up! its very touching...brilliant

  • Was this acappela?

  • @ligerx45 yes, it is.

  • @ligerx45 Yes, why would you think not?

  • @hiskas Always like to be sure :)

  • the idea that King Henry VIII was involved in writing the lyrics and/or the music is a legend.

  • powerful lyrics considering its 16th century song

  • wow!!! I get goosebumps!!!! :'))))

  • that's ... just.... arghhh no word to descriped it, So beautiful.

  • amazing !

  • ugh, LOVE

  • AHahahahahahaha

  • Beautiful -33

  • I had to watch this in school.

  • EARGASM!

  • This is absolutely breathtaking...and I also may be giggling that the highest tenor is the tallest. Immature? It just makes me love it more.

  • @Jelleybeans7 Do you mean counter-tenor? It is rather funny if so :D

  • @Jelleybeans7 Both him and the shortest guy are singing the same part

  • @Jelleybeans7 Both him and the shortest guy are singing the same part

  • @Jelleybeans7 Both him and the shortest guy are singing the same part. I find that kind of funny as well

  • From this SUBLIME rendition of 'Greensleeves' to another BRILLIANT comedic gem called 'Widdicombe Fare' both on the BBC Albert Hall evening... Oh my word The King Singers are totally awesome, they could even sing the phone book, if they wanted too... AND I WOULD LISTEN too... *sighs*

  • Bass note at 3:02 anchors it. Rock solid

  • very serious

  • That's pretty cool considering they're only using their voices...

  • Amazing. Captivating suck emotion that is beyond biological evolution- or merely the testament of its limitation.

  • ok greensleeves king s singers

  • ok

  • Why is it when I watch this I think of snickers candy bar?

  • @hellonearth069 Damn you. Now I'll always think of Snickers when I listen to this song...

  • if a guy (erm...with more guys on the harmony) sang this to me...i'd take him back, dang it. haha

    these guys are AMAZING.

  • we sang this in choir at my school and people cried. i did the same when i watched this

  • love this but i got to admit that the guy on the far most right looks funny at 2:48

  • @GrayBoombox No, he looks funny at 2:53.

  • WOW!

  • Lawson has such an awesome voice!! Makes you almost feel like in heaven...

  • @bobbarron1 I think it was Henry VIII, he was quite a renaissance man despite his tyrannous reputation

  • Who actually wrote this classic song?

  • @bobbarron1

It was supposedly Henry VIII, but no one knows for sure.

  • @TheNarutoCastRocks No, unfortunately at the times of Henry (1491–1547) this style of composing was unknown in England. It was probably written in the second half of sixteenth century.

  • @kapitanplomba

Well, lol, that's why I said 'supposedly'. I didn't say I knew. It was a rumor. But thanks for the info.

  • @kapitanplomba the lyrics may have been composed in the mid 16th but the music itself was written by Henry Tudor.

  • Who actully wrote this classic song?

  • @405232sing I think it's chilcott, he tends to do arrangements in this style

  • anyone else get the willies because the counter tenor with the highest voice, is also by far the tallest and biggest. lol

  • Does anyone know who arranged this?

  • The bass is just amazing! Love the king singers!

  • my observation is that as in the 2nd half robin had to sing the descant and melody, but i hv yet to find out the reason

  • @iwanabana That's probably why he and David switched places. They may have switched parts, maybe David was sick, he looks to be struggling a bit through parts of this piece....

  • still searching for an explanation that david and robin switched places. anyone with good ideas?

  • simply fabulous

  • omg chills. i cant stand this its so good... chordgasm

  • @dipsaucerose *eargasm
