This isn't the final level, but the final bosses do tend to share a template of being humanoid, floating around, and throwing shit at you.

@abcdefg633 Not really, The Magician was final boss in HOTD1 but not in HOTD2. The Emperor serves as the final boss in HOTD2 whereas The Magician returns only before you go to the final stage.
