The "So Good!' chant was not written by Neil Diamond, but was a spontaneous audience invention that has now become a traditional part of the song.
Ah, from the source of all knowledge, true and truthy, Wikipedia! "The "so good, so good, so good, so good" wrinkle was first observed being played during the 1970s on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, by the duo Paul Presto & Jackie Vee at the Surf City Hotel. And it went on -- and on -- from there."
I wish I was there, it sounds like a musical blast!! Me and my friends have singalongs like this when we go camping. The only thing that could make it better would be having JoCo there!
Except, of course, for the incredibly depressing ones ;) ? 'Course, those are all sung upbeat, but Chiron Beta Prime, Betty and Me, some others are pretty depressing, if you look at just the lyrics. Awesome, though.
I think these kind of incredably up-beat and happy, care-free songs always signil the end of a concert. Take Peter Kay and his sing-along at the end. Peter Kay is an excellent comedian-look him up! While you're there look up Billy Conoly! I don't think i spealt that properly.... Anyone know any complicated words? There's one! after one is two... two ryhmes with new... So whens the new/next video out gle3nn? Sorry about my loss of train of thought there.
26000 views - I bet they are mostly mine from Saturday nights!

auatarch 4 years ago
He hasn't actually recorded this song in studio. This was an encore song that he only performed live.
MP3's of these recordings are available at spiffworld(dot)com.

mistake at 44 but nice cover
anhando 4 years ago
No mistake - that's how the song goes :)
brendanrhys2 4 years ago 8
Really then why dosn't he do that anywhere else in the song...
He gos for a moment to a D chord then quickly changes to a C (I think).
Look I dont really care about that mistake (Every one makes mistakes)

I like Jonathan Coulton because he doesn't write incredibly depressing songs.
