  • can we use tamron 28-75 2.8 portrait photography...

    if we can " which is the best nikon 135 2.0d -OR- tamron 28-75 2.8 " ?

  • @rawat2u Tamron 28-75 is good enough for portraits. Most lenses are good enough but some like to have really sharp pics that pop and this is where the 135mm f2 DC comes into play. Best Nikon? All serves different purposes, so it depends on what you are doing. I see it as using the right tools for the right job.

  • I am just getting into the business and I'm wondering if you started off with all the gears or did you slowly build your arsenal up? I currently just have a D700, nikon 24-70, nikon 85mm f1.8, nikon 35mm f2 (Backup for 24-70 and lowlight), sb-600, and sb-910. Do you think this is good enough or should I add a 70-200? I guess I can rent it?

  • @seankor90 Id say I started with the essentials and then purchased as I went along. I didnt go for the 1.8's or slower lenses. I saved and just bought the pro lenses to prevent from buying twice. your arsenal is decent, but looks like your missing a macro and the 70-200mm. You can rent, but that $30 can go to buying instead, even if its a 3rd party. Hope this helps.

  • Are you thinking of getting a D800 :D? If you do you should make a review or something about your wedding photography.

  • @WoWproductions21 I was actually thinking of getting just one D800 and keeping both my D700's. It seems as if Nikon is going to force people to buy the D4 if they need something really good in low light. It seems to me the D800 will benefit photographers who use controlled lighting conditions vs natural light photographers....But yes, Ill do a video once I get my hands on one. I dont want to say anything about it yet without test driving it. =)

  • @WoWproductions21 WOW..now that I think about it....No MORE affordable low light king???? In order to shoot in low light, one will have to fork over $6000 for a D4, or get a used D3s, D3, or D700..... Im not a big fan of buying used especially bodies and lenses...I guess Ill grab another new D700 while I can before they are gone!

  • @DMGFotos I don't understand why you need 3 D700's and a D90 :O Is it important as a wedding photographer to stay up the date with new bodies and etc? nahh right

  • @WoWproductions21 I no longer have the d90, or the D7000. The D7000 got too grainy, and even with great glass, noise was noticeable. Id get a new D700 only because in a few months, new ones no longer avail. The ability to shoot in extreme low light conditions at an affordable cost will now be limited and hard to come by. For me, keeping up with the new tools is important if it makes me more efficient. But, if old ones are good enough to get the job done, there's no need to upgrade.

  • I have to say I love all ur Nikon lens !! And I just want to ask you something what lens would u think best for a newbie to take wedding photo with ? Iand that the lens doesn't cost so much like around 300 something .? And can u give some tips about when shooting for wedding ? Thanks

  • Did you made a hand strap from the D700 neck strap? I saw a real hand strap but also the neck strap as a hand strap.

  • @WoWproductions21 i have a Nikon handstap then folded the neck strap and wrapped it around the handstrap. This way, if i need the neck strap, all i have to do is take the velcro wraps off.

  • @DMGFotos Oh good idea. I was thinking of getting a hand strap but I'll be too lazy to put the neck strap back on when I need it.

  • Thanks for the info; I'm surprised you don't have a 50mm!!

  • Thank you. That was very helpful. Glad to see you have the Tokina as I am close to buying it to replace a 18-105 kit lens. I a also inspired that you have a D90 as a back-up camera to a D700.

  • I visted your website... AMAZING WORK!!! I dont expect you to give out any secrets but do the images come out looking like that in camera, or is there something special you do after. Are the photos in the slideshow all HDR? Are you using any filters? And the retouching!!! wow! Do you have someone who does your post work for you?

Again I dont expect you to tell your secrets. But you have amazing work!!!

    Thanks

  • @justinbieberwoot Thanks for the comments regarding my work! It is greatly appreciated! Theo only filters I use are UV. I do take them a step further in editing but only the basics. All post are done by me.

  • Very nice equipment you have there. I checked out your site, and I must say, PHENOMENAL WORK YOU HAVE THERE! Really breath taking too. Hope your business prospers well! Loved that 3rd photo I believe, on you homepage on your site, where the couple was sitting on the boat, and the sun was right behind the guy's head. VERY BEAUTIFUL. I bet you were nervous when you were on the boat with your gear.

I'm thinking to get a Nikon D7000. mind telling me which lens I should get for low light?

  • @Narcotics911 Thanks for the comments! It is greatly appreciated!

Yes, the boat shot was a bit challenging. It got me dizzy after. I was a little worried about the gear, but I wanted a great shot even more so I went out there to do the best I can.

For the D7k, I highly recommend going with a 1.4 either 50mm or 85mm. a 2.8 glass on the D7k still can get pretty grainy at 3200 iso. Hope htis helps!

  • Hi There

first of all thank you for the tools you provide to new beginner in photography like me.

I want to buy a Nikon dsrl digital camera, but I don't know what model to buy, I really like the Nikon D5100 , but I not quite sure if it's a good camera to shoot wedding, also I will like to buy Nikon lens, one for

Wide angle, and the other one for low light, so I can use it in the churches.

    Any suggestion will be appreciate

    Best regards

    Noe palacios

    Sent from my iPhone

  • @noep99 Thanks for commenting! For beginners D5100 is good. For weddings, a D90 will get the job done but I highly recommend something more durable and full frame if you are planning on doing this professionally and every weekend. For low light, Id go with a 50mm 1.4. Wide angle on a crop sensor, Id go with a 15-55mm f2.8. This should get you started. Hope this helps!

  • @noep99

I would definitely go with either the Nikon D90 or for even better low light performance, go with the D7000. Right now this is the next best thing to the full-frame sensor D700. This is an excellent camera that meets the demand of wedding shooting: excellent focus speed, low light performance (minimal noise at IS03200, dual SD memory card slots for back up pictures (in the case that a memory card corrupts, you have duplicate pictures), and magnesium-allow chase. Nikon 17-55 f2.8

  • Hey Thank you for those videos , I love them,

One question, what model of camera do you use for your wedding? I really want to buy Nikon Digital camera but I don't know what camera to buy, any suggestion will be appreciate

    Thanks

    Noe P

  • @noep99 I use a two D700s for my weddings. Professionally, you can get by with a D90 or D7k if you are only going to do a few. More than a couple, step up to a D300s or D700 if you can.

  • Can I have one of your unuseD lense.

  • @vinzapanta Sure thing! jk

  • have you tried the 85mm 1.4g? Im looking at buying my first portrait lense and wondering if its worth the extra 600 getting the 1.4g over the 1.4d. (using with a d7000)

  • @SRAphotog Ive tried both the 85 1.4 G & D versions. I personally think the extra 600 is worth it. However, you cannot go wrong with either lens. The only reason why I like the G is because of the added elements and features over the D version.

  • Hi. I bought Nikon D7000 and I'm looking for a good lense for sport photography. What can you recommend?

  • @yajserolf Nikon 70-200 vr1 or vr2. You can also go with a Sigma which should be decent.

  • i really love weddings shoots... green surroundings like golf club is also nice as a venue background.

  • 28 75 tamron?is it more sharper than the sigma's 24 -70 version?any suggestions for a all around sharp lens for nikon d200?

  • @januel17 I cannot say on the sigma but I know for sure that my Tamron 28-75 is very sharp, almost too sharp for its own good. Adjust the sharpness after the fact in lightroom or photoshop (a habit all good photographers should do) and it starts to show pores and other things once you stop it down. It's ok at F/2.8 but at F/5.6 and above it's stupidly sharp.

  • @januel17 the tamron is sharper than sigma....at least my tamron was very sharp. All around sharp lens...tamron 28-75 or the 18-200mm VR2.

  • Hi I have nikon d40 what is the best lens to get good picture.

or should i just buy new nikon, thanks

  • @avsvideo100 Hi Avsvideo100, you should tell us more precisely what kind of photography you want to work on (portrait, architecture, landscape, sports, low light, wildlife,...) as well as a budget (200US$ or 2000 US$?). Otherwise it's difficult for us to give a relevant answer. hope this helps, M

  • I looked at your site and you are very good. Great collections of lens also.

  • Are you Filipino?

  • @aznfilipinoboi yes...

  • those picture you use on your website, which lens or lenses did you use?thanks.

  • @ctotoymoe2 I use a variety of lenses for all pics on my site. Majority are taken with 70-200vr2 or 85mm 1.4g, but there are some that are taken with a 24-70 or 135mm. Go to my facebook profile picture page to see which lenses are used for each wedding picture.

  • I want to buy sigma 105 micro lens for wedding is that ok ?

  • @sev7stars Id prefer a Nikon branded lenes but if you are just starting, the Sigma should work fine and you can always upgrade later.

  • Wow man... Your work is beautiful bro. Keep up the great work.

  • @ctgull78 thanks for the comment !

  • Awesome settings! Congrats and thanks! Which lens you use for the architetural, buildings etc?

  • @KollenNaka Thanks for the comment! Architectural either my 24-70 or 14-24.

  • Awesome settings! Congrats and thanks! Which lens you use for the architetural, buildings etc?

  • I like your setup, but I am curious as to why you didn´t include any wide angle lens.

  • @michirhythm i have the 14-24mm f2.8 but i find it too wide. on FX, for weddings and portraits, the 24mm is plenty wide for me. I use more portrait lenses than wide angle for my line or work.

  • Nice bro...

  • You're pictures are simply sublime. I always thought that Canon has a superior skin tone until I saw your work. Two thumbs up.

  • @DemonCrucify Thanks for stopping by and the comment regarding my work! Its greatly appreciated!

  • great gear and I enjoy your work.

    Just saying.

  • @Jpbyob02 thanks!

  • dang man, I would kill for the 135 f2 dc XD

what do you think about the 35-70 f/2.8d?

  • How is that Tamron lens holding up as far as durabilty goes? I'm kinda hesitant about getting third party lenses and I was wondering if you would be so kind as to offer your opinion on the lens

  • @MI6CORPORAL I actually got rid of it because I too am not a big fan of third party lenses. I replaced it with a 24-85mm f2.8-4.0. The Tamron gave me better image results and at 2.8 was sharp w/ excellent bokeh. Build quality, I was afraid it would not last an entire wedding because construction of it is VERY cheap. Feels like a Nikon 18-55mm ..Overall a great back up to my 24-70mm. Better than my backup now which is the 24-85mm f2.8-4.0 which also gives me Macro Capabilities.

  • @DMGFotos alright, thanks eh? I think I'll stick with a Sigma EX lenses if I ever do buy a third party lens. So, I'm thinking for weddings, have 2 full frame bodies, for me it would be a Canon, though I may switch to Nikon if the oppurtunity presents itself. So heres my intended gear: 17-40 Canon L, 24-70 f/2.8L, 70-200 IS mk. II L, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, with 2 5D mk. IIs and a 60D. Does that sound like a good set up for a wedding? Thanks again eh?

  • @MI6CORPORAL Your intended gear sound perfect.. Id throw in the Canon 85mm f1.2 L series in there for a portrait lens that Ive heard is really good. But, overall if you get the gear you mentioned, you would be set and fully covered on the focal length range. Dont forget speedlights as well!.

  • @DMGFotos Thanks, I may toss in a set of exstension tubes for redundancie's sake, I'm thinking two 430 (SB-600 equivelants) and two 580s (SB-900 equivelants). I may toss in the 85 f/1.2L however its got fringing wide open, so does the sigma for about $1000 less. Some light stands and some umbrellas should give the finishing touches as well as a nice case, perhaps pelican or thinktank photo? Thanks for all the info man, it helps a lot.

  • Hey, really neat, tight gear for weddings. A nice coverage without going too overboard?

  • I'm using a D90. How's the working distance if i use the 105mm f2.8 on my D90 for portraits? is it convenient?

  • @5851 Its ok if you have plenty of space to work with like outdoor portraits. It may be a little long for indoor shots. Overall, the lens has GREAT Bokeh and its VERY Sharp.

  • @5851 Have you ever thought of getting that 35mm f/1.8 for your indoor stuff? it should be plenty wide for indoors.

  • We shoot with almost the same exact gear, I bring two D700s and a D90 to my weddings as well. I'm sure you've noticed that the D700 has a hot-shoe problem as you mentioned, where it will randomly fire your flash or just not fire it at all. What have you done to help eliminate this?

  • @dementedfish1 I guess Im not the only one out there with the Hotshoe Problem w/ the D700. Ive sent THREE D700 bodies with this problem and Ive emailed Nikon about it but they keep saying that there is no problem. I ended up sending all 3 bodies (different times) for warranty repair and it helped eliminate the problem. I also got new flashes because one of them may have been bad ending up "Short Circuiting" the camera bodies. Send the bodies in while under warranty if you can.

  • Quiet alot of photographers carry 2 cameras around saying "just incase one fails".

In what ways can a camera fail? Ofcourse it can drop and break but are there any mechanical or internal problems that can occur?

  • @jigsawpk There are many ways a camera can fail. Ive had one of my D700's hotshoe fail twice. A short in the hotshoe caused my SB900 to randomly fire and not fire when I needed it to. This was caused by a simple moisture in the air coming into contact with the hotshoe metal pieces. Also, two cameras is a must especially if a client is paying you thousands of dollars to complete a job. Having a back up is a way to finish your job and protect your name.

  • I am getting a d7000. How do you rate the Tamron 28-75 f2.8?

  • @eapradius The Tamron 28-75 f2.8 is a great lens. Good enough to be a back up to my Nikon 24-70mm. The Tamron is fast, sharp, and excellent in low light but in a plastic body.

  • Hey whats the connection for on the bottem of the camera?? Do you have an extra strap attached? Wicked Video!!

  • Hi. I am JUST now getting into photography. I am getting a camera for graduation. I am looking at a Canon EOS Rebel XS. I will most likely upgrade in a couple years. Though, i need an upgraded lens and i was wondering, i will be shooting outdoors and sports. What do you think of a Canon EF-S 55-250mm with image stabilization for starters?

  • @1997mzim For starters and getting to learn about DSLR's your camera and lens choice will do just fine. As you get deeper into photography, youll realize that you will need other lenses for certain things. For now, your kit is good to start with. For Sports, you will realize later that a fast f2.8 lens will be needed.

  • thats a lot of frikiinng lenses.

  • hy, got a question i'm planning to get either Tamron AF28-75mm F/2.8 or Tamron AF 17-50mm f/2.8 which is the best lens?and also does it important to have VC for this kind of lens?

  • thanks

  • great vid woul you ever consider the 200mm f2 for wedding

  • @desmondlaugh 200mm f2 is a really sharp and great lens that I wish I can own. The price tag however is too high for me. But yes, Id shoot with it for wedding portraits if I owned it.

  • the 24-70mm f2.8 is the best lens. you get your 70 zoom and wide angle 24. just sayin

  • @appacana Its a very good lens, and one of the best mid range zooms from Nikon. My personal favorite however is the 70-200mm f2.8. Thanks for stopping by!

  • the 24-70mm f2.8 is the best lens. you get your 70 zoom and wide angle 24. just sayin

  • hello i just got my d7000 several days ago.. im just wondering for starters like me aside from 18-105 kit lens any zoom lens you can recommend without breaking my bank?

  • @SuperWeng10 To start, try a 28mm - 75mm f.28 by Tamron, Really Sharp and a very good inexpensive lens. If you are looking into Nikon Brand Lenses, try a 18-200mm VRII.

  • @SuperWeng10 70-200 f2.8 all around lens :)

  • maganda talaga yung arsenal nyo! meron akong canon na camera at glass pero maganda din yung nikon set up mo e. galing!

  • @Actionintl Salamat! Greetings from San Francisco!

  • kuya! would you recommend buying a used d700? i need another body and im currently using a d300. was hoping to buy a full frame and a new lens (24mm or 70 - 200), but they're expensive. so either a used body and a new lens or vice versa..ano tingin mo ser?

  • @gwulfwud Id go with a new lens and used body. The D700 replacement may be coming soon, so it may drop the price for a used D700. Hope this helps! Salamat for stopping by!

  • @DMGFotos if imma buy a used d700, is shutter count a significant factor to look at? so do you think they'll drop the price of NEW d700 too if the replacement will come out? i heard 2 years ago that nikon placed all d200s on bestbuy with a $500 price tag cuz of the d300? idk but do you think they'll have a significant price drop to for the d700?

  • @gwulfwud I wouldnt buy one that has close to 100k clicks. Make sure to verify the actual shutter clicks with a software like OPANDA. When and if a new D700 replacement comes out, the price for a new one will not drop as much as a used one. I dont see it becoming low or even close as the D200 when the D300 came out. Now, even with a new D700 replacement, the D700 will still give you great results regardless so you cant go wrong with the current D700.

  • Kababayan doing a great job there and very nice photography on your site . Me i'm base here in Sydney doing also wedding but not to many because i find it i'm to slow on my editing cant keep up. What do you use for editing? ( Lightroom or Capture one } hope to see you here in sydney one day. plus i have duplicate to all your gear except for back up i use D300 not D90 and i don't have the 135 lens. wish you can help me on showing your style on editing in video.

    Thank you

    Frank

  • @DMGFotos i knew it! =) kabayan! galing tlga ng mga videos mo... lots of info and stuff. keep up the good work!

  • @abybryan salamat kabayan! Ill try to post more before the wedding season starts.

  • ARE YOU FILIPINO???

  • @abybryan yes.

  • @DMGFotos i knew it! =) kabayan! galing tlga ng mga videos mo... lots of info and stuff. keep up the good work!

  • Comment removed

  • @DMGFotos ayos :) just bought my D3100.. hope to meet you someday kuya hehe... starting out palang ako

  • Beautiful. You're definitely carrying a lot of "cream" in that bag. Sweet lenses. I have the 105mm Macro and it really is an amazing lens, and I just picked up a 80-200 2.8 Macro which is also stunningly clear and sharp.

  • Can i use the 24-70 mm for general purposes? Like portraits, landscapes, buildings Etc?

Thank you for the video. Very informative.

  • @usmail77 if you are using a FX body, it is a great lens for an "ALL AROUND". However, Id be cautious about carrying it as a walk around lens given its price tag.

  • can you do a video about your camera strap or hand strap? it looks interesting lol i wasn't able to find the site for fireside camera.

  • @trueefuschinick i can send you pics. its just a simple strap and all i did was wrap the d700 neck strap around it so i have it just in case i need to use the neck strap.

  • @DMGFotos yeah send me some photos if thats not a problem I really don't want to go and buy a 60 dollar strap from black rapid haha oh and what is the metal mount you have on the bottom? is that for the tripod or does it come with the strap?

  • @trueefuschinick the metal at the bottom is the Spider Plate, spider pin and an eye bolt that I use the black rapid sport to connect. i use this in combo with the spider holster.

  • what cameragrips do you use?

  • @DMGFotos That makes a lot of sense! thanks, so in order to take a good/unfatten shot, I technically can use my walkaround lens (18-200mm), but have to make sure I step back, use 85mm-ish correct?

  • @DMGFotos I never understood why a good portrait lens is 85mm....I understand the wide open aperture, buy why not 24mm or something lower. why do you have stand so far back? I'm not a pro, I like to shoot landscape, food and architecture. I almost always carry a 18-200 because it's so versatile. I only have one body, so every time I go out using a 70-200, I end up disappointed when I have to keep backing away to get something in the frame

  • @Mikenopolis For portraits, focal length is important because It has a lot to do with apparent perspective distortion and bokeh. Bokeh is not the same when using a wide angle at wide apertures vs a telephoto at wide aperture. Telephoto and zoom lenses give a slimming effect and makes thing in the distance look larger, and using a wide angle lens can cause facial features to be eschewed. If you are incorporating landscape, wide angles are ok, but for portraits, telephoto is the way to go.

  • where did you get the straps that you have on your d700? the ones where you slide your hand in them and don't have to have around your neck?

    Thanks

  • @ddwilkins I got them at a local camera store. Fireside Camera in San Francisco. They had the Nikon Brand ones and cost about $30 each. You might also want to check out the Black Rapid straps if you dont want to have the camera around your neck.

  • Nice kit. Thanks for the leg up on some of your gear and how they work best for you. I'm a enthusiast mainly. Much of my work is personal but I do shoot a little here and there for others. I took a look at your site, very well done! Great looking shoots, nice work! thanks ( Looking at a D700 currently )They are one hellava DSLR!

  • @CAJUNNSC Thanks for the comments regarding my work! It is greatly appreciated! Yes, the D700 is awsome! I hope the D700 replacement becomes another breakthru ! Again, thanks for the comments!

  • I've a question to ask:

I currently have the money to buy a new lens and i m considering bout 70-200 f2.8 or the 85mm 1.4G. Both are great lens but i only have the money to buy either one of them. Please advice. =)

    I am currently using D700 with a 14-24 f2.8 N and a 24-70 f2.8 N.

  • @bboyjin Youlll find the 70-200mm VR is more versitile than the 85mm 1.4G. The 85mm is a specialty lens geared for specific things like portraits. The 70-200mm VR is a lens you can use for multiple things. So if you do not have it yet, I highly recommend getting the 70-200mm especially if you are going to shoot weddings.

  • @DMGFotos

But so far, i still havent got myself a portrait lens. That's why I've been in dilemma for choosing which suits me more. Hmm.

  • @bboyjin The 70-200mm is a great portrait lens. The 85mm 1.4G only beats it by a little in terms of sharpness and bokeh. You cant go wrong with a 70-200mm. Its a must for portraits and weddings. The 85mm is a nice luxury to have, but you can shoot weddings and portraits without it. The 70-200mm is like the 24-70mm, and macro....MUST HAVE's for weddings. Hope this helps!

  • @DMGFotos Thanks alot. U've given me a real nice suggestion. =)

  • @DMGFotos

is 17-55mm f2.8g lens is as good as 24-70mm. I am using it with Nikon D300S (also got micro nikkor 105mm lens) for Wedding Photography and Bridal PhotoShoot on location (in a hotel and it's lobby). But i want to create an extreme bokeh effect in bridal portraits. Please advice.

  • @junaid20i The 24-70mm is faster and sharper. However, in terms of what is more of a useful focal length for the D300s, it would be the 17-55 f2.8 because of the crop sensor factor. The 24-70mm range is great on FX. The 105mm VR is under rated and renders beautiful bokeh. If you want to purchase another lens that creates excellent bokeh, go with a 85mm f1.4 or even a 50mm f1.4. Remember also that your technique has alot to do with getting max bokeh.

  • when do you use flash in a wedding and how do you use it? Do you use bounce flash? Any diffuser?

  • @ThatGuyyyyy There are many situations Ill use flash, but often times I dont need to because of the low light performance of the D700. Ill use flash for multiple things such as for fill during the day, or at night at the reception when its etremely low light for the D700 to handle. I mainly bounce and I also use the Gary Fong diffuser. Hope this helps!

  • @DMGFotos

Do you prefer to use Flash ON-Camera or OFF-Camera with Umbrella mounted on Weddings? I have SB-900 (also got a Hensel 500 Watts Studio light) but i'm more interested in to use this speedlight OFF-Camera mounted on stand having shoot-through umbrella in a Hotel for Bridal Portraits and Wedding Group Shots.

Am i going in a rite direction as i know that Using a speedlight will produce very harsh results and the photos always feel like they are taken from a simple digital cam.advice

  • @junaid20i This situation usually depends on the time I have to set up . If I am by myself, in a hurry, and little time, Ill shoot flash on camera with an SB-900 and diffuser. Ill then fix it afterwards with Post Production. Off Camera flash through an umbrella is ideal, especially for the group formals and wedding party portraits, IF time and manpower permits. I often do not get the luxury of having enough time to set all of it up, so I have been using on camera flash with diffusers.

  • @DMGFotos so in other words, Id use the off camera through umbrella any day I can, but about 80%-90% of the time, I am rushed and cannot set up in time. So, Im left with on camera flashes with diffusers and fixing in post production. If you are getting harsh flash results using an SB900 on camera, you may want to try diffusers (Gary Fong, SoftBox, ect) and bounce. It will lessen the harshness of the flash.

  • do you really bring all that gear for the wedding? too much stuff.

  • @MrJplynx Yes, between two shooters, its not as bad. Back up stays in the pelican case.

  • @MrJplynx Yes, between two shooters, its not as bad. Back up equipment stays in the pelican case.

  • too bad you don't use canon...

  • @TheZotorious

    bitter???

  • i am a photo enthusiastic, currently looking to buy a d700. i would like to purchase the 24-70mm 2.8g. what do you think about this lens? does it also give a nice creamy bokeh like the 85mm 1.4g that i am also consider into buying? which of the two lens you recommend for portraits/people for my first purchase of the two lenses? for now i can only afford one lens. having a nice bokeh is a priority.

  • @fallenf1owers The 24-70mm f2.8 is a great all around lens. If you are to compare its Bokeh to the 85mm 1.4G, the 85mm 1.4G is way much better and is great for portraits. The 24-70 f2.8 is a lens that you can easily get attached to using and because its so versitile, it can create so much comfort to a point where its a lens youll use for everything. Ill review the 24-70 in my next vid. The 24-70 f2.8 Good All Purpose. 85mm 1.4G Best Bokeh, Also, 70-200mm - Great Bokeh + versitile

  • best of the best!

  • lol @ "cream machine". Sounds like a Peter North movie of some sort. I don't understand why people have to give lenses some dumb nicknames. Why can't we just call them an 85 1.4D.

  • what do u have strapped on your primary body? all that metal under it?

  • @Alfredochocano16 The metal pieces is the SPIDER HOLSTER mounting with a EYE Bolt screwed into one of the holes next to the Spider Holster Pin. I use the Spider Holster to hold my camera to my waist, and I attach a Black Rapid RS Sport to the Eye Bolt as a back up support system just in case the Spider Holster Pin fails or vice versa.

  • I'm thinking of all purpose shooting, like in and around the house and on vacations. I've heard the 80-200 f2.8 is a good lens and would like another lens to complement it. Is it generally better to have one all purpose lens or a few that cover the same range?

  • I'm looking at getting a d7000, what are the 3 top consumer lenses you would recommend as to not break the bank? What would be the best all purpose lens also? thanks in advance!

  • @MrLovejones11 It would depend on what you are photographing or the type of photography you want to get into to. For me and for portraits, I started off with: Nikon 18-200mm (Excellent All Purpose Lens), 50mm 1.8, then the 70-300mm VR. Nikon did come out with newer lenses such as the 28mm-300mm but I do not have experience with this particular lens. From what Ive heard, its a decent lens that works on FX & DX. Having that alone eliminates alot of the other lenses.

  • I don't think d90 is as good as d300s!

  • @matsas16193 Agree, and thats why the D90 is only a back up. Also, I stated it was "ALMOST" as good, but not better than the D300s/D300. The D300s is good enough to be a primary camera, but not the D90. Again, all of these are just my opinion and other peoples opinion may vary. Happy Shooting.

  • @DMGFotos Thanks for the replay!By the way u got a very good gear!But i think one lens is missing!The 14-24!Well that's my opinion...

  • @matsas16193 Thanks for the comment regarding the gear. Ive added the 14-24mm f2.8 and my only regreat was not adding it sooner. The 14-24 is a great piece of glass!

  • Hi, I had a question for you. I have a Nikon D90 and im trying to get a primary lens for it. Would you recommend the 17 50mm or the 28-75 from tamron?

  • @MrRanpastrana The 28-75mm from Tamron is a great lens. Ive never tried the 17-50mm from Tamron.

  • @BIGredsArtWORLD19 Basically yes. If you are going to go full frame, its best to have full frame lenses to fully utilize the D700's potential. There are some lenses that are not as expensive as the 2.8 zooms or the 1.4 primes. The 70-300mm is a decent lens for the D700 as well the the 50mm 1.8 or 1.4D. You have other options for inexpensive FX lenses vs trying to put a DX lens on FX.

  • @BIGredsArtWORLD19 it fits all Nikon lenses including DX lenses. But, if you put a DX lens on it, it becomes a 6mp camera, so you do not want to put DX lenses on the D700. If you go for a D700, you should go for full frame lenses. Putting on DX lenses on a D700 works, but it cuts the megapixels from 12mp to 6mp, therefore not the greatest way to fully utilize the D700. Its like buying a PORSCHE and putting a Honda engine in it. It works, but not to full potential.

  • @DMGFotos I also live in the bay area. I have a Nikon D90 and I was wondering if the 24-70mm f2.8 is good or the 70-200mm f2.8 is better for portraits and fashion. And are these lenses under 1500 dollars or more? I am a student right now but Im striving to be a professional. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

  • @CallieShabazz123 on a D90 the 24-70 becomes 36-105 which isnt bad for portraits. The 70-200mm becomes 105mm-350mm therefore may be a little long but still great on a D90. You have other options. The 50mm 1.4 is a great lens to use for a DX format camera for portraits. For me, since I use full frame, Id use the 70-200mm for portraits over the 24-70mm. .

  • I am planing to buy one Hasselblad but I need to hear more from somebody ,digital is my desires .if you know anybody that works with one please I like to meet that person .

  • what do you think about the Hasselblad ?

  • @Luchito316 GREAT Systems, but too expensive for me.

  • did you get the d7000 to replace the d90?

  • @disruptfam I had it for about a day and decided it was not for me. I would prefer the D300s if I were to purchase another DX camera over the D7000. Why? Personal preference and the D7000 feels too much of an upgraded D90 with higher megapixels. Image quality is still not as good as the D700.. It also uses different batteries than the D700, D300s, & D90, therefore it does not benefit me. Id skip the D7000 and go for the D700 if you can. Once you go FX, you will see the difference.

  • Dude you need an assistant!!

  • nice video, very informative. MABUHAY KA KABAYAN... :-)

  • hello sir. i just wanna ask what's the best lens for portraits?! thank you...

  • @jeffreyracca

Jeffrey~ what camera are you using? For DX, I like using the 50mm 1.4 because it turns into a 75mm 1.4. For FX, 85mm 1.4, 135 f2 DC, 70-200mm f2.8, but I personally like using the 85mm 1.4G the most.

  • hello sir, what lens do you recommend for close-up/ portrait pictures?! thank you...

  • hello sir, what lens do you recommend for portrait pictures?! thank you.

  • @MrKorean30

    50mm for DX

85mm, 135mm or 70-200mm for Full Frame. I really like the 85mm 1.4G the most for portraits.

  • hey bro, if you could have just one lens either the 85 1.4D or the 135DC, which one would your choose over the other one and why? It would be really cool if you made a video just about the DC lens and told us your experience with it in detail. You have an awesome kit there. I wish you all the best!
