How could this guy place 5th? People that can rip through mapleleaf rag at twice the desired tempo are a dime a dozen compared with someone that has the dynamics, pedal control and mature expression this kid has. He plays like someone 20 years older than himself!

I think the only reason you got 5th was because the style is a couple decades later than they like (40s-50s versus 10s-20s), although the tune itself is of course well within the 1929 cut-off date.
However, this is indeed an excellent version of this tune, and nice playing! Keep doing what you're doing!

I love this song (my favourite version is by Benny Goodman), the slow stride is very sweet.
