  • android > windows 8

MS has said it, on arm processors you wont be able to run 32/64bit apps, plus android offers a better touch experience than windows 8

  • @halo3pownage It looks like you haven't been following Windows 8 Development that much. Microsoft said that you WILL be able to run 32/64 bit applications in it after all on arm.

  • italiannnn please

  • @sandrodream2, Learn English.

  • @TheRealDutchOwner teach me I use a trasnlator to write but here in italy we not use english very often

  • I am the only one who thinks that the presentators could amp up their presentation a little? I mean when the guy in the jeans comes on stage the music comes in too late he's talking to the other guy and does not look at the crowd, he says 'exciting' as if his grandma just died...sorry but I couldn't help but notice, the content is interesting...

  • wat the... is that Hillary Clinton on the screen... what a put of to my next device

  • So. Can this tablet play Crysis on MAX settings?

  • dose this mean i can use the tablet like a pc.....win rar 7 zip, vlc media layer..u torrent..full pc softwere not shitty little half assed apps????

  • @MrUkbeats yes

  • @MrUkbeats for now no one except Microsoft dont know about pc software on arm based windows 8

  • @MrUkbeats Yes you can as long as the tablet is not ARM.

  • @oEDLIo aaah thats good to know, when in the future the tabs become really powerful.

  • As a university teacher, I would really like to own a tablet with fully functional productivity apps, such as MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw etc. All existing office alternatives for Android are just laughable. For instance, the existing PowerPoint clones cannot even manage to open animated slides! As for Word clones, they constantly struggle with advanced features, such as bookmarks, tables and indices etc.

Let us hope that windows 8 will solve this problem.

  • Although i never owned an apple product, i have to admit that without the iOS there won't be Android or Windows 8.

  • @Salieri21 And vice verse with many other Apple products.

  • Is this going to be the same interface for windows 8 on PCs?

  • @andy379123 Metro UI is not forced. On a PC you can choose.

  • A bleeping rss reader shouldn't NEED to use all four cores...

  • The new unlock screen method is very impressive though after that point it looks mostly like an update to Windows Mobile OS. They should have added a kicker in there which dropped the need to have a mobile phone as for most cellular carriers carry 3g/4g tablets now. It would have made the price point more interesting, just saying.

  • Windows 8 better not disappoint. I don't mind the metro as long as when I'm using the win 8 tablet, computer, phone? etc it feels like I'm using a desktop OS rather than a mobile OS.

  • @JohnnyOthman From what I read in some magazine, it will be possible to set it to classic Windows look on desktop if you don't like Metro so that shouldn't be a problem :)

  • @warlocksmight Oh cool thanks! Theres nothing wrong with metro, its more geared towards tablet, but I can see the the usefulness in the All in One PC with multitouch! So I guess its not bad, Thanks for the info!

  • @JohnnyOthman You can bet it will use up your CPU. And slow down your PC compared to Windows 7.

  • @DaMasterSarge Lets hope that doesn't happen! But windows 8 seems faster than window 7 in terms of performance we can't judge now until the final product release.

  • @JohnnyOthman I'm going to say, Apple will take the market in about 10 years now. And Microsoft will either die, or become something else.

  • @DaMasterSarge

Apple has been saying that for years... and actually had the market before MS came along and stomped on it.

Apple now is only a toy, or browser, nothing more.

In business Apple is only an end point - that remotes to a real OS that collaborates and gets work done. Appl will get more into the market but only as a retarded endpoint fo retarded users that want to try and boost their ego. But fads are fleeting - people are seeing that apple is nothing but an ego boost for idiots.

  • @DaMasterSarge

Nice info but if you werent such a fucking mactard you'd have downloaded the tech preview of WIN8 and know that it uses LESS CPU and LESS memory. The only thing it seems to load memory up on is older legacy programs. But again, TRY it before you say more stupid things - seriously.

  • @jabberwolf "mactard" Nice joke. Except... I don't own a Mac.

I say that MAC will take over, because Windows is turning into a phone, console, and tablet OS.

But, I don't know! Maybe Linux, or some other OS will take over in 10 years! I just bet it won't be Windows.

  • @DaMasterSarge Windows is hardly turning into a phone/tablet OS, Instead its trying to bring the flexibility of a Desktop OS to mobile devices. Win 8 Has all of the great features from past Operating Systems but brings that to the mobile devices we already know and love. Not to mention how its bringing a more touch friendly interface to the touch desktops that have recently been appearing left and right

  • @HayateV3 It's... Turning into a tablet OS.

  • @DaMasterSarge, Retard. It's still a desktop OS, NT 6.2. NOT a tablet OS.

  • @TheRealDutchOwner Yeah. It works on desktop. So it's said to be a Desktop OS. But it's made of tablets. Plus it's made for desktops with touchscreen.

  • @TheRealDutchOwner iOS is based on OSX, Android is based on Linux. What else would be expected for Windows to use other than NT? Just because it wasn't originally developed for mobile devices doesn't mean it won't work quite well on them.

  • @JemaKnight, "is based on". This is not based on, this IS a NT build.

  • @TheRealDutchOwner And as such is by far the biggest redevelopment of Windows since NT replaced 9x, and the biggest advantage it has. Being an NT build, the desktop version will retain compatibility with previous desktop releases of Windows, whilst being the same basic operating system as what is available on Windows 8 ARM devices including both tablets and phones. If this runs well on tablets and retain legacy desktop compatability, Microsoft will have created the perfect operating environment.

  • @JemaKnight, Thus staying a desktop OS. It even has a 16-bit emulation mode, which made me able to run a Windows 3.1 game that required a patch in XP, Vista and 7. In other words, Windows might be tablet-like, but it won't change from desktop aslong desktops are created.

  • eh, that presentation wasn't very great, but i'm really stoked for windows 8 nonetheless.

  • looks good. can't wait to give it a go.

  • great!

  • Full OS > Phone OS

  • @shaolindreams Thank god win8 has full OS in it too then.

  • Boring....the $249 Transformer Prime is the bomb!

  • @banzaiplayer It`s not a Prime, it`s Memo or Meemo or how do they call it. There is something suspicious about that pricetag. It`s too low to be good reliable product!

  • Looks great.
