@blackbart150 Via the magic of Facebook, I finally received an email advising that due to a virus and some hacking, BVR needed a new server. There were several emails and I've chased an update in December and last week, to no avail.
Hello! I am writing from Melbourne, Australia. Trying desperately to get in contact with Vinnie Paul, or someone running Big Vin Records. I've paid almost US$160, for two copies of the Dimebag Book. It is listed to be delivered with two bonus copies of each of the following, the Rebel Meets Rebel CD and the Dimevision DVD. Over fourteen months later, I've received nothing and the silence is deafening. I want nothing except to receive my order. It seems the website has been dumped! Neither the e
@TANNERGRN I thought that when it happened,i was already thinking about john when i heard about dime. i was born the year lennon died. rock stars should stay home every december 8th
I'd love to listen to what Vinnie has to say, but those questions hahaha wtf. Is that guy going to write in the high school fanzine or something. Gimme a break!
@GebastianSorklo don't flatter yourself dude, just cause he passed away that doesn't mean you have to give him more credit then what's due. He was a really good guitarist, and among the best.........for his time. That's like when people say that Angus Young is the greatest guitarist ever, it just isn't true. I can name at least half a dozen guitarists that are better.
@GordoDustin There's no such thing as the greatest guitar player. It all depends on what you like and what it means to you. They both have different styles.
these guys have fooled a lot of people. i loved pantera and its funny that i only like phil and rex. those 2 never sold out but the rest of them did. dimebag was an awsome guitar player but in reality he sold out and its hard for me to respect that. I will always support what Phil does because i think he was the true flame of Pantera. after he left the rest of the band sold out and came up with shit called damage plan.
How in the hell did dime sell out!? He never let his fame or his talent go to his head and was always an upstanding, polite guy to his friends and fans. Don't say dime sold out for making a new band after the only one he had ever known broke up. He just wanted to make music again.
@PappeH You would understand if you were an old school Pantera fan. Yes of course he wanted to play music and form another band but there is no denying his guitar work in Damage Plan was not anywhere near his full potential. Dimebag did a lot of immature thiings especially for his age. trashing hotel rooms and tormenting his band members with fireworks lol come on. in my book thats not a very nice guy. I dont mean to disrespect him but its the truth. damage plan was radio friendly= sell out
I am an old school pantera fan. Not only do I have numerous posters, but they are my favorite band and I'm well versed in everything they ever did. You apparently don't know how a band on the road operates, because they all pull pranks and bullshit like you mentioned. Anyway, damage plan wasn't pantera, therefore they aren't going to sound the same. Rex and phil are in down together, and down most certainly sounds nothing like pantera. The same thing can be said about SJR.
@PappeH ok fare enough. i just think they were the perfect combination of musicians when they were pantera. it seemed to work more than any of the other side projects. i guess i didnt like damage plan because i didnt like the singer. it was almost as if he was trying to replicate what Phil had done.
I will be the first person to tell you that while I like damage plan, it most certainly isn't in the same league pantera was and that i prefer dime and vinnie's work in pantera. Bu seriously man, dime just wanted to play and he didn't change anything about him.
@resdsox1 Yup! Chillin' upstairs with 2Pac, John Bonham, Randy Rhoads, Janis Jopplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Rev, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, MJ (HEEhee), George Harrison, and John Lennon
In the second half of this interview on their website, Vinnie talks about the 2nd record from Damageplan that was never released, and that he has it with him always. I sure hope that he gets around to mixing it and getting vocals and bass to it.. Dear God please don't make us wait 10 years for this Vinnie.
