Since leaving Genesis Steve has made some great LPs that have gone under the radar, and brother John is a fantastic flautist, the Eric Satie LP they did together is superb.
very interesting - especially the comments about Tony.
Now his legal problems are behind him I hope Steve will feel able to be candid and even a little controversial about Genesis - why did he leave, has he ever regretted it?and about the highs and lows of his solo career. The Hewitt book was just a hagiography, disappointingly sanitised.
I consider myself to be a very fortunate soul to have seen Genesis twice with Peter Gabriel at the helm. The first time was at the Roxy Theater in L.A. and the second and last (with Gabriel) was at the Shrine auditorium for the Lamb tour. These, to this day (especially the Lamb) were the best concerts of my entire life, and at 51 now, I doubt music will ever be the same again, nor should it be. It was truly a magical time and I'm glad to have been a young drummer in 1971 practicing to Genesis.

I'll definitely get this when it's completed! However, I can't hear Tony Banks being described as 'a rock' without thinking this was also Princess Diana's description of Paul Burrell!
Brilliant! Where and when? Must have. Nice to get Steve's take on things concerning his time in Genesis, which usually get told by everybody but him! Also nice to see his solo career gets some props. I must see this.
Thanks for the comments. Whilst the Genesis years will be covered the focus of the film is really on Steve's solo career, showing his versatility and originality as an artist. He's also got a very dry sense of humour, which I hope will come through.
awesome~ when's it out?

Can't wait to see the film ... Steve is a guitar God if you ask any Genesis fan.
'Selling England by the Pound' .... I believe one of the best albums ever made.

Gets me curious. Might be a good way to tell the story of a supergroup (again) I guess. And to get to behind Hackett's own work too.
