Given this information in perspective to the cosmos we as in humans or Earth as a whole do not matter to the order of the universe. We observe solar systems blowing apart everyday which could possibly be contain life but still the universe continues. Our solar system has a life span and we do not matter. If Earth was whiped know one would know we existed. People need to get out of their heads that we are special or significant because in actuality we don't matter.
That is why it is so difficult to detect rocky planets like earth in a solar system. How would you be able to detect an object smaller than a grain of sand compared to the ocean. That's why there are methods to detect them. And life could possibly live on different planets like gas giants or more extraneous environments. We search for earth-like planets because it is the only environment we know and are aware of that could support life.
Take this from a black Physicist. We can see out to 100 billion lights-years of our universe, which is considered the observable universe through telescopes. There is much more beyond what we could see but on the galactic scale Earth isn't even a grain of sand compared to the vastness of the Earth's ocean. It is impossible for there not to be other life in the cosmos with our numerical data.
