My view is that the sort of people who wish to racially profile dogs with a view to their destruction are probably meeting their own needs; in that they are not allowed to be disriminatory against other human minorities any more, so this is their chance for power! The Pittbull has historically used its slightly higher intelligence to determine humans as a valid target for attack, even when options were available. A breed that represents approximately 1/10th of the total dog population in the USA is responsible for the most dog bite related deaths than any other breed. To argue against BSL because it might endanger "boxers' is a weasel argument. So what! Authorities will make that distinction to avoid mistakes, as they are the only ones who could errantly discriminate. Racial profiling? Typical of a Pitt lover to go to anthropomorphism to make their case.

Its well known that the pitbull/attack ratio is quite faulty. Most people screaming pitubull attack cant even identify one. I actually had someone call me names on my page cause they thought my german shepherd lab mix was a pitbull. Also consider that people consider a wide range of breeds pitbulls. I've know quite a few pitbulls and every last one of them was a geniune sweetheart.

theres a lote of owners out there that expoilte there pitbulls stamina ans strangth.most people buy them and expect a guard dog out of them..poor pits this is a battle we will be facing for sometime.

@animalCOP76 it's sad really if u want a pit as a guard dog show it the love and loyalty that they give their humans. i can tell you from experience that if you show this sweet loving breed kindness and love they will in turn guard you with their lives. last week my female took on a snake, got bitten 3 times and killed the snake to defend me. my male (not recently) prevented me from being mauled by a stray. he pinned the stray down and released when i told him to

Very good video and you brought up many excellent points about why the media is unfairly driving BSL that the politicians are foolishly falling for. Jen, I'm also blessed with a service dog who is a "pit bull." My girl, Phoebe, is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and she is freedom on four legs! My first service dog was my heartbeat, Bekah, an Am Staff Terrier mix. I understand your fears, but I also think it's really important to allow these wonderful dogs to show what they can do for us!

Jen is always hearing from others who have service dogs that "you are irresponsible for having a dangerous, aggressive animal as a service dog." We just have to respond with "You're right, that would be wrong to have a dangerous animal as a service dog...good thing we don't!"

I am so sorry to hear that you are hit with such abuse! Don't we already have enough difficulties in life? And others like us should know that - good heavens. I'm really fortunate that most people tend to be attracted to my girls and often have fond memories of pitties that were owned by their grandparents or parents. But, I live in a rural area and don't care for big cities, that might be the difference. Sadly, more people seem to becoming less merciful everywhere. God Bless you and yours!
