Look at this video and compare how this moment is described in My Great Predecessors Vol4 or Gufeld's book on Fischer, they both made exaggerate BF's weirdness by implying that BF spent ages looking at the cheque before shaking hands with Euwe . but you can see he just shook hands normally with Euwe- bfore looking at cheque.

You can tell that this video was edited. At about 0:32, the check just magically appears in Fischer's hand. The edit is very obvious. My guess is that the uploader or his/her source (or even the TV station), was so bored by Fischer's prolonged staring that s/he cut out the footage.

The man changed the way the game is played. His innovative approach and risk taking made him unique. It's a shame we could not see Kasparov and Fischer play at their best. Fischer had some extreme views. I don't see eye to eye with him politically, but I'm not voting for him. I just admire his game.

We ought to be able to agree that Bobby had burned himself out after winning in Iceland.

Instead of admitting this fact, he blamed the rest of the chess world for his not deending the title. It was everyone's fault but his.

That he had developed severe Paranoid Personality Disorder as well as Borderline PD
