I test drove one of these the other day, and I would have expected the dynograph to have more of a curve at around 4000-5000 rpm. When the turbo kicks in, it's a mess! A good mess.
WRX does make 5kw more at the crank which is bugger all. But WRX is the true false HP. A stock 195kw WRX will be putting down only 140kwatw (give or take 5kw). A stock MS3 which has 190kw will be putting down 175kw give or take 5kw. Not dissing Subies at all, I had 3 of them, 2 of which were WRX the MS3 just outclasses the rexie stock for stock anyday anytime.

It is turboed and your an idiot that car makes 261 hp and 280 ft/lbs to the crank (I believe). It is not a stock mazda 3. It's a speed 3 and this car doesn't suck. Sweet. You didn't even use any typical turbo 'cheats' on the chassis dyno- like spraying the inter-cooler with water while it's running. (many people do this with turbo cars on dynos to get better numbers)
So are you having some mods done? I assume thats why you had the dyno done, to establish a baseline. Mazdaspeed CAI should be here around the first of January, $500.00 installed.

True stock speed3's dyno at 216whp and 245 lbs-ft tq. They're still really sweet cars though. I test drove one today and it's fucking sweet as shit.
