This movie was really good. I really liked it alot. At first I thought it was going to be boring and not interesting but it was the complete opposite. It was amazing.
Kimberly Elise deserves an oscar. The scene with Beau throwing the kids out the window and then cleaning her children's blood and saying "This is what death feels like" I cried like a baby. And the Trailer is just amazing on its own and the person who covered 'Four women' is amazing! I need to have it! Who sings it?
The fact this movie didn't even get a single nomination for any awards is the greatest misjustic ever!!! Kimberly Elise and Rashad at the very least should have gotten for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. This was BY FAR Tyler Perry's best work to date that transcends race, sex, religious belief, it truly was a work of art.

Wow this seems like a good movie, it empowers woman and it tells a story that is a reality to many black sisters. I am South African and I don't live in America so I cant say that I know what is going on there, one thing I know is that its a white man's world, that is actually opposite to South Africa. The whole purpose of the play is based on the poems recited by the women. Do you even know what the poems were about in the play? whom it directly concerned? Tyler just didnt happen to add men by magic in his movie. And quite frankly the topic is dark enuff in itself, for Tyler to feel the need to villanize black men.
Finally, its a little something called 'adapting' a play and translating poems into a 'movie'.

I love to read the comments on YouTube because they never fail to entertain me. It also amuses me how very uncultured alot of American people are, white and black. Note, Tyler Perry did not just pull this one out of the sky, it's based on Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf". A very prolific and well known piece of literature. So maybe if you are angry at someone, take it up with the author as this piece pre-exists Tyler Perry's movie career.
This will be a movie that will transcend races, sexuality and gender. To me it looks like it goes beyond 'surviving', it shows people at their worst, but maybe it shows us who people are when they reach the best (for themselves) and what happy is for them. We aren't all going to get what we want in life.
There is a similar (not quite the same) spiritual movie about Native American women called 'Where the Spirit Lives' that is about 20 years old; it never to screen but it's on youtube.

Wow this seems like a good movie, it empowers woman and it tells a story that is a reality to many black sisters. The whole purpose of the play is based on the poems recited by the women. Do you even know what the poems were about in the play? whom it directly concerned? Tyler just didnt happen to add men by magic in his movie. And quite frankly the topic is dark enuff in itself, for Tyler to feel the need to villanize black men.
Finally, its a little something called 'adapting' a play and translating poems into a 'movie'.

I love to read the comments on YouTube because they never fail to entertain me. It also amuses me how very uncultured alot of American people are, white and black. Note, Tyler Perry did not just pull this one out of the sky, it's based on Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf". A very prolific and well known piece of literature. So maybe if you are angry at someone, take it up with the author as this piece pre-exists Tyler Perry's movie career.

This will be a movie that will transcend races, sexuality and gender. To me it looks like it goes beyond 'surviving', it shows people at their worst, but maybe it shows us who people are when they reach the best (for themselves) and what happy is for them. We aren't all going to get what we want in life.
There is a similar (not quite the same) spiritual movie about Native American women called 'Where the Spirit Lives' that is about 20 years old; it never to screen but it's on youtube.

Uhm question...Shouldn't the movie actually be"seen" before a judgement is made? Having said that I have to admit sometimes you CAN tell by the "trailers" what your'e in for. I saw the trailer to "Precious" for ex and KNEW I didn't want to see it, still haven't and don't plan on it. I'm African American, educated, and either I'm tired of what seems to be "the same stuff shown over and over again about BW" or angry because a story like "Precious" was too hard to imagine?..I don't know which.
