this video is taken from faces of death, the monkey you see here was not harmed in anyway, the striking tools were made of a spongy material so the monkey was not hurt, it was then replaced with a fake head, whose "brain" was created with a gelatin product and some cauliflower. the director did not want to show actual animal slaughter because he felt it too cruel.

The monkey is strapped still and its top portion of the skull carved out. Some hot soup is poured onto the brain, and you use the spoons to dig in directly for your portion. Also the monkey is loaded from the bottom up and the table is usually bigger.
