Im from Uruguay. When i went to school and i was 10yr my femal teacher always slaps my face two times when i did wrong in my homework. Then when i come back to school with my red face my mother slapped me more until i cry. Then again when i got lessons by my private teacher she used to give me 10 swats on my hand. Before she took the cane i was already crying cause i knew she hurted me very much. The results ? I become a masochist. So i think it's perfeclty useless hitting children.
I was tortured as a teacher, because I didn't discipline, this is extreme, and I don't believe in hitting anyone, but then I didn't last as a teacher either.

I remember a story that was in the news long time ago that a teacher pulled one of the pupils in order to take him out of the classroom, the father of the pupil as a response.... came the day after to school and pulled the teacher ear while he taking her out of the classroom (while the pupils watches it.....)

I grew up in Israel and corporal punishment is illegal and whoever found guilty doing that will lose his job and serve some time in jail.
I remember a story that was in the news long time ago that a teacher pulled one of the pupils in order to take him out of the classroom, the father of the pupil as a response.... came the day after to school and pulled the teacher ear while he taking her out of the classroom (while the pupils watches it.....)

as much as this is sad and obviously discouraging for the students learning enviroment, this is how it is in 3rd world countries around the world. Children in America have almost NO view on current events around the world, living conditions around the world, ect. Does anyone even know the average salary of a man working in a factory in China? 70cents an hour. and a child worling in a factory in china? 40 cents. minimum wage in illinois is 8.50$. one hour of working here is over a week in china..
