I've got a pretty heavy 16' fiberglass boat with a very small 6hp motor on it. Anyone know if this is a big enough motor to even get them to jump? Tried it only once so far but it didn't seem to be working well. Not sure if I want to go try again.

Hey, My grandparents got me a bowfshing set for xmas this year. I would like to try going this spring but have no idea where to go. Any ideas? (I live near Joliet, IL)

I live in plainfield. If you have any water by you that supports carp try there. We bowfish the dupage and the surrounding rivers

These are an invasive species to america. the are out competeing native fish and eat mass amounts of plankton that smaller fish depend on. They are a big problem and need to be killed. so i am sorry that you are ignorant on matters pertaining to the enviroment but these people are actually doing the right thing. maybe you should read about these fish before you make fun of those who wish to kill them. The fish are called silver carp.

Ignorance is everywhere when it comes to most matter whether you are a hunter or fisherman. Majority of the time its a female who makes ignorant comments like that cause they either have not been exposed to the outdoor lifestyle or just plain stupid.

Hey what do you guys do with the carp you catch? Any ideas? I usually cut the bellies and push em back in for a nice beautimus gar to eat...
I live in Texas so I'm stuck with the lower population of native carps...
