10 million of the 47 mil you claim are illegal. 17 mil make over $50K per year and can afford care. 14 mil are eligible for Government care, but do not enroll (All U.S. Census figures). So in actuality, 6 mil of 301 mil total (2%) are poor and without.
The problem is that people throw the 47-50 million numbers around as if they were true, but arent. 6 - 9 million is an accurate figure, one we could easily take care of, if we just did not give care to people not legally in the country.
So when you are wrestling with your conscience about how all these people are not getting care (And every one of them can go to the ER and get care), remember that the numbers have been falsely elevated to make you wring your hands and endeavor to make severe changes in teh voting booth.
In a nationalized health care system you can wait for days for a procedure that can kill you or leave you disabled. (Example heart catheterization) In U.S. its hours. No system is perfect period!.

I think the point about the Cuban health care system is that Cuba has had barbaric economic sanctions placed on them by the USA and despite being extermely poor it ensures it's citizens are ALL entitled to free health care unlike the richest economy in the world, who by the way allows it's citizens (including those who fought for it) to suffer and die because they are poor or in many cases not so poor. You no doubt have supported these sanction which have been in place for over 40 years!!

I think the point about the Cuban health care system is that Cuba has had barbaric economic sanctions placed on them by the USA and despite being extermely poor it ensures it's citizens are ALL entitled to free health care unlike the richest economy in the world, who by the way allows it's citizens (including those who fought for it) to suffer and die because they are poor or in many cases not so poor. You no doubt have supported these sanction which have been in place for over 40 years!!

Even though I disagree with Jackie on most political stuff, I have to post that this one is awful. Michael Moore in his way stands up to the big guy for the little guy,which he is not one of in any sense of the word.
As far as prosecuting someone going to Cuba, we should also then arrest all people who have Cuban cigars in their possession as well, which will be the way we finally jail most of the politicians.

I live in england where we have a world renowned health care system, possibly the best in the world. funded by the government, the NHS. And micheal moore didn't break a single law going to cuba because he was making a documentary and had full journalistic rights.
