  • why the hell did you never reply to my message? you said "if you think it`s worth to answer you will answer" but you never replied.

why the hell did you have such a "big ego" attitude?

you make people feel very bad like that if i am honest.... :/

  • Which of the Shawn Lane Signatures do you like better the Master Signature or this one? Obviously before you modded the Master. Any noticeable differences in tone that anyone should know?

  • Check out the new Shawn Lane page at Google Plus, adios

  • Very happy that you uploaded a new vid so I subbed! Please try and do more man, you're awesome!

  • Nice, but you never explained what the pattern was. It was all fast playing. Great stuff as always. Thanks!

  • Man this is incredible, thanks for posting, not that I'd ever have a chance of playing this. It's cool at 2:27 how you just casually look away as if to say "what's happening over there?" while playing totally blistering licks LOL. Awesome.

  • I'm a big stubby convert now. The 3mm rules. No slip for me.

  • Hi, very inspiring lesson! Would you mind telling us what is that lick at 5:21?

  • Hahaha... Sound like that with a VAmp... Respect!

  • Hi Marshall, are you playing a stock or a custom shop modified shawn lane model?

  • Comment removed

  • Doing all that and not even looking. Crazy skills

  • Wonderful guitar...I love it!!!

  • Vigier started using stainless frets on all their guitars earlier this year.

  • so freakin clean!

  • For those who care: In this video I'm using

    1) Dunlop - Big Stubby pick 3.0 mm

    2) D'addario 9 guage strings

    3) Behringer Vamp 3 preamp

    4) Yamaha UD-Stomp (preset 122)

    5) Vigier Shawn Lane Signature Model

  • @RozarSmacco

I thought big stubbies were cool but I find they slip around too much for me...

    Do you have this issue?

  • @TJGuitarVids While you at it ask paul gilbert if he has trouble alternate picking.

  • @hairlessdog101

The material becomes slippery very easily from slight perspiration.

I was wondering if Marshall did anything to increase friction or if the indent in the pick was enough.

  • the main lick sounds similar to a part around 2 min in Arabesque #1 by Debussy

  • @FuckinMetalBitchs Yes...I steal only from the greatest!

  • Great to see another lesson - thanks, Marshall. Sweet playing as always... I've been playing with the same idea for a little while, albeit without your superhuman speed and precision.

    Another inspiring lesson.

  • i don't know what your mouth is doing, but i like what your fingers are doing.

  • Sick playing! You should slow it down a little bit for us.

  • is this guitar different from original Vigier Shawn Lane model?, have you done any modifications? because i saw that you have onother Vigier Shawn Lane model but different color, so why are you buying another?

  • @DainiusGudonis I think he had the frets changed on his other vigier and he wasnt happy with the change.

  • @llwayneio wondering if this guitar has stainless steel frets...

  • @llwayneio exactly..I changed the fret size on my Vigier Shawn Lane Master Series and it ruined the "magic"....my new Vigier recaptures that "magic" and THEN SOME....

  • tabs pls?

  • So fluid!!!!

  • I had that guitar and I sold it... FML!

  • Killer picking and diatonic range.

  • very very cool... string gauge? what amp are you using by the way?

  • Awesome stuff buddy!

  • SICK stuff Marshall..INSANE

  • 1:30 sounds tosin abasi esque

  • Great stuff man! I've been fooling around with that kind of half sweep alternate picking concept for a while and it works wonders! I envy how clean and precise your right hand is though - absolutely immaculate.

  • hey marshall, I had to ask---are you getting the headless carvin holdsworth?

  • 1:41

    TROLL FACE LOL

  • All very Lane-ish, which is pretty amazing, since I haven't really heard anyone with that same ability really (plus you play killer piano like he did too). This vid makes me want to rework my picking hand from bridged against the body to the floating style, since it I've felt the difference and noticed the increase in speed and lessing of tension created by bridging... I doubt though I'll reach those killer chops though! lol...

  • 5:29 sounds like shawn lane

  • hey Marshall, in your next lessons, can you play your example over a back track? It'll be great to hear how it resolves over the chord.

  • SICK SKILLZ & SPEED!!!

  • Nice vid, been waiting for one for a while. Now, how about an update on what you're doing on the piano, too?

  • Let's be honest. could anyone keep up with him?

  • *insert question about picks, strings, etc*

Nice to see some posts again Marshall - Mind-expanding as usual :)

  • Completely immense, as usual, Marshall: always cool to see your new stuff.

  • some badass shit right there man.

  • What gauge strings are you using? Your playing's so smooth and fluid, it's incredible...

  • Good lord...

  • Trying to play along with your licks, I always end up just sitting back and watching you go. It is always incredible to see new stuff from you.

  • Definitely a lick I will learn! Still trying to mimic your vibrato, Marshall.

By the way, I've been using the ''sweeping black keys'' technique on the piano since you've told me about it. Thank you so much!

  • Glad you're posting again :) and congrats on that sweet Vigier!

  • What gauge and pick do you use marshall?

  • Nice to see you postin videos again dude.

You were busy working or something, right?

  • DUDE I thought you died or something XD

  • Awesome!!

  • sooooo happy you've started uploading again. my technique has improved so much since i've started watching your videos. love the new vigier.

hope to see more from you

  • @nihility666 same on everything. and re: technique, I base everything I do after Marshall.

  • @Timotheedle i'm happy someone has developed a flawless technique that can be used to accomplish every genre that i can learn from! much in the same way classical instruments have thesis' written on technique alone

  • You got on the Vigier bandwagon!
