I understand that the baby crying my just be crying to cry and may not even be in her care but for me personally it was very distracting. Thanks for your post but the crying made this very unhelpful to me.
thank you for this tutorial on continental purling it was VERY helpful! i really liked the way you use your middle finger to brace the needle and your pointer to do the work!! this is a GREAT tutorial!! thanks you sooo much =D
Why is everyone assuming the kid is hers or in her care? Has it occurred to anyone that something like that could well be the reason she's not doing anything about the crying child?
You don't care about teaching kids if yours is screaming in the background. I know sometimes you need to let them cry it out but for goodness sakes NOT ON A VIDEO!!!!
What the heck were you thinking??? (yes I have raised two kids.)
And don't "assume" that people KNOW how to cast on when you are doing a "How To" video. SHOW THEM HOW TO more slowly!!
Thank you, video is very informative, I also crochet, did some knitting a while ago but could not get into it as I tried the english method, had heard of this method but never tried, and watching this video has inspired me th give it a go.
This video is really helpful! I'm teaching myself to knit for the first time (continental because I'm a crocheter and it's easier to have my yarn in my left hand) and purling was really difficult (nearly impossible) for me to learn from the book I have. Much easier to watch someone else do it first!
I agree.....take care if the baby! I turned off the video also.

What's the problem with allowing the child to cry itself to sleep? I'd like to see a mother who hasn't allowed that. Great knitting video. Thanks!

Wow - cannot believe you are doing a knitting video whilst your child is screaming. Shame on you. She/he needs comforting - cry-it-out is abuse.

Showing this way of hold the working yarn was very helpful to me. Thanks.
The yarn choice is great. Easy to see.
However, it would be nice if the table and the needles weren't both dark.
Also, mentioning which direction you wrap the working yarn would help. It isn't crystal clear without looking very carefully.
And last, but not least, though any cast-on is fine, not everyone knows the cast-on shown. And it's a good one.
Thanks for the video. It was helpful.
Baby ok too, I've got kids.

That's a cool video. I knit English style, but i've been wanting to knit continental. You make it look so easy. I will give it a try. =]
