  • are you going to put up the video on your new rail system?

  • "for peppers"

  • Hi, im about to build my aeroponic system and I have no idea (after a week reading all over the net)about how much pressure do I need in the pump? which are min/max aprox for a 12-15 plants system? Some say it needs at least 30 psi but I think that's too much. I'm gonna put some peppers on it as well

  • i have also seen system with the same idea as this but instead using buckets rather the pvc pipes. you can have multiple bucket lids each with different plants sites. you can fit 8 3" pots per 20 litre bucket in crowded mode for small plants like strawberries or about 15 2" net pots for micro greens or seedlings per buck lid.

  • Nice system, I'm working on something similiar. I was wondering if you did any research into whether the vinyl the post is made of is food safe so that the plants won't be taking in any harmful chemicals or heavy metals. I looked at the posts at the local lowes but couldn't find the manufacturer's name that would potentially allow me to download the MSDS sheet.

  • not sure if i understood it correctly the rail has 5x5 inches? Thanks in advance

  • jksax914 anytime i am always looking for ways to improve my system and enjoy reading these forums.

  • hello ive been using a similar system with great results but it took a lot of tweeking. The micro jets tend to get clogged so i used a 1/2 inch pvc pipe capped at tyhe end with 1/8 inch holes next to each pot.It doesnt clog.with a 600 gph pump it sprays a nice stream of nutrient on each pot.alo you will need to replace your drain and use 1 1/2 pvc with a 1 1/2 in adapter to regulate your nutrients as your roots grow.hope this helps

  • @69mrnatural Thanks for the comments. Since this video I've changed quite a bit on this rail. I also use 1/2 pipe withe the misters threaded into the pipe works great. I have a 1-1/2inch drain also. Check out my newer videos for the new design. Thanks again.

  • @69mrnatural yea the micro sprayer i have suck can u show pics or make a video of what your talkin about

  • Just out of curiosity... won't you have to make a bigger hole aeroponic rail when the pepper plants get larger?

  • @darktard I'm not sure if I understand your question but the peppers will grow in the same rails for their entire life span. Not sure if that answered your question or not. Let me know.

  • I've watched all your vids on your hydroponics and I must say, GREAT WORK... I do see in most of your vids that you do mention changing the nutrients.. I'm new to hydroponics and would like to know how often do you change the nutreints and why change it? Seems to me like it's a waste of money spent on nutrients or do they go bad after so long?

  • @HWhit9000 when the plants are young I dont change the nutes for about a month but once they have size to them I change the nutes every week. The reason you change the nutes is because the plants will use up the nutrients from the solution. So by changing out your nutrients you keep a steady level of nutrients available to the plants. If you didnt do this the plants would suffer nutrient deficiency. Hope this helps.

  • I'm looking to build an aeroponic system for my sml greenhouse for peppers as well. Was thinking more of a black bucket system(8 or 10)...Do you think you can grow big pepper plants in this system? The root space seems a bit cramped. I've grown some monster peppers in DWC buckets, but want to make a more nutrient efficient system for the GH. Haven't really seen anything huge growing out of these tube aero systems yet. Links anyone? Nice build here regardless!

  • @chiledilly Peppers in my DWC have huge root systems also. Ive seen 3ft plus tall pepper plants do well in these rail systems so I'm giving it a shot. I have 6 rails running with 39 pepper plants. I'm working on a video now and the system is way easy to maintain then a DWC. At least for me. Hope this helps.

  • Somehow I missed this video. That's an awesome idea. Man, you are really rockin and rollin with hydro. I can't keep up ;-)

  • Very cool! I can't wait to see it in action. I like how you explained everything in detail.

  • Nice setup.

But I wonder if you'll have enough pressure at the end of your 8' of 1/4" tubing to get a good spray from the last few emitters.

You might try using hard or soft 1/2" tubing and tap off your 1/4" tubing every foot for your emitters. You'll probably get more even pressure for all your emitters.

You could also try a top drip system, but that's a matter of personal preference.

    Good luck!

  • @DanaGould0 I intially didnt have pressure problems but i'm going to be running 6 rails and I did experience problems with that many rails I since have resolved the problems and I have great pressure for running all 6 rails with micro sprinklers. I'll be doing a video soon explaining the changes and how far the system has come. Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Nice idea on building an aeroponics as your indoor garden setup. I must say that the setup really looks fine. It was a really good thing that you opted to put the sprinklers in between every net cup because that’s really going to be superior nutrient delivery for your plants. Please keep us posted. Good luck!
