@ejackson0723 - Yes, it is easier to say! Pluckers pluck the bird, which is the process of removing the feathers. Originally pluckers were all humans. (grin!) Now a simple mechanical device makes the process quicker and easierm for most anyway.

It's only been 100 years since we've been removed from the world of producing our own food. Not progress. I've got a masters, and yet, I am slowly building a world around sustainability. It's a better way.

Yes i agree - i am interested in this because basically i want to get back to grass roots - We have forgotten that meat is from animals that are on farms - not just something dressed pretty in plastic at your supermarket. I am moving from the big city and buying a farm - getting back to nature and for those that like to presume people that do this are uneducated. I am a Maintenance Engineer and have spend most of my adult life fixing and modified machinery worth MANY millions of dollars.

Excellent. I wish you well. I have been working toward this as well, though on a smaller scale than a full-fledged farm. I've got a masters and nearly half of another masters. We consume education like we do stuff, and we're slowly killing this earth. We have lost touch that dirt, nature and work with hands is somehow beneath us. I have encountered the most genuine people who are on the land, living off it.
