However, it has been said that the British breakfast killed more Brits than the world wars. My father did have a lot of American influences too, I guess, as he studied at Berkly , California during the time of the Zodiac killer. He actually liked americans, especially the cowboys, and had an obsession with Buicks.
The British breakfast does have some good things in it. The sausage and bacon are processed meats, full of fat, so they are not so good for you, but nonetheless a good source of protein. The eggs are a very good source of protein, your body can absorb a lot of protein from them, more than milk. The beans are about the best in the meal, good source of omega-3 and fiber. But if you are like my dad, you put too much salt on everything (hypertension).
i have only used about a pound of rocksalt in the last 20 years , the only salt i add to food have used a lot more than that as an ingredient in my homecured bacon , salmon aka gravadlax etc but i try not to injest to much of the stuff... and on the whole if you prep most your own foods rather than buying in ready prepared meals you will cut your intake
My dad was a pretty good cook for a Brit. He was also a professional engineer. I have never seen a person with so many talents. He made this incredible pizza that tasted better than anything I have ever had before or since, very "Tomatoey" and moist not dry like store stuff. His breakfast was awesome too. The tomatoes had dill on them, the mushrooms tasted incredible because they were broiled in Terriyaki sauce. The omlette and ham were scrumptious. He drank more coffee than tea though.
I wouldn't touch hash browns with a barge pole for breakfast, revolting. If i had to have potato with my breakfast it would be bubble and squeak or irish potato cakes

Too hell with you health freaks. Go diet if you want but to not ruin the fun of life for the rest of us with your scruples.
