You know... I always thought to myself, "damn, why didn't he pick emily?" But then if you think about it... the animation does a lot to make her pretty. Imagine if a rotting corpse, years post-mortem, wanted to kiss you. I suddenly understand his decision to go with Victoria.

Also, I wondered if the dead keep on decomposing because theyre sure seemed to be many people down in the netherworld in different states of decomposition. Emily was in decent shape when compared to the others, but I wonder if she originally looked like the "New Arrivials" and continued to fall apart as the years went on. After a time she would be nothing but a skeleton prone to falling apart. Sweet personality, and I wouldn't mind if she retained her current state.

Not that I would be high on the idea of offing myself to marry a corpse so yeah, Victoria was the correct choice. Keep the natural order of things.

The connection in this movie to my life was astounding. Let's just say that a dear friend of mine used to look a lot like Emily, and at their funeral we released butterflies, and Emily turns into butterflies. Every time I watch this movie I am left with a feeling of sad nostalgia, and I enjoy it because of that fact. This is not a pity message. Simply more to a happy one.
