When somebody can play an instrument so fast that it actually looks like the footage has been sped up, there is no single word or phrase that can describe their awesomeness. That's insane.
Technique can be taught - but that young man was born with a gift that is truly wonderful. If he loves music (not forced to do it because of parents/teachers who weren't good enough), he can do whatever he wants :)
I decide to read my old book again which is entitled "Heifetz" - Edited by Dr.Herbert R.Axelrod second edition, Publisher: Paganiniana, to see whether there is anything concerning the topic above.
patrickbateman7, what you said is true. I believe his parents and his teachers are aware of this situation. I presume they are very busy in finding out how Heifetz parents were doing to solve the problem.
I applaude the kid, However in my experience all almost all of those ''child prodigies'' quit sometime in their teens and then pick it up again and turn out to be '' Meh'' violinists.
HaMoOhAhA, let me give you my objective answer (objective because I don't know the boy, definitely not a member of his family and I have played this music in college) I don't think I can do better.
skibbleeebobbleee, thnak you so much for the sharing.
I wish you would like to publish the Alexander Technique, all the violinists who are depressed because of their inabilities to play Hora Staccato can be inspired by this technique.
i give him a ton of credit. ricochet bowing is really tedious, not to mention the fact that this song is probably really difficult to play. awesome video.
OMG. I think I'm about to cry. Out of awe or despair I don't know. Absolutely ashamed of myself. SO. BRILLIANT.
What is that technique called? And how is it done?
