some people are just jealous because they don't have a talent that someone else has. you did an amazing job. love the coloring. :) is that your made-up character?
Quite good work. But if you use the regular Prismacolors, you'll have much deeper color saturation. I use Prismacolors and Verithins (hard leads) exclusively, and they are the best quality. They are more expensive, but well worth the investment. (Just a little advice from one lefty to another).
@peachyd you no wat! if u have nothing good to say then dont say anything at all! jeez didnt u at least learn that from your mom?! sound like ur mom is "rubbish" :P
I'm trying to colour well with crayons and I fail at highlighting and adding shade which doesn't look like block colouring =/ I was wondering if you could help?
Your character is seriously amazing by the way - You're extremely talented!!!
@FatalMindedMe when you're done colouring the overall picture, go back with a darker shade than the one you were using and lightly add to dark parts. To 'add' highlights, just use white to blend.
Usually you should start out with light layers. Not hard layers. If you press too hard, the wax will build up and you won't be able to add anymore colors on top of it. You can blend with a colorless blending pencil or a white pencil. Using a variety of pressures is also a good technique.
I wouldn't advise you to use a colourless blender, though. when I was more at an amateur level, I realized it made things look flat. As haniblive said, use white. It blends colours well and adds highlights.
It depends on your preference. Most artists use light colours first, I find that too hard, so I personally start with dark colours and make my way up on the lighter scale.
thats like one of the best pencil colouring jobs i'veever seen
i hate pencil crayon though, if you press too hard it leaves kind of a pattern on you paper, so i try to keep from pressing 2 hard, and sometimes taking tissue paper to smotthen it out, but it only makes the colour brighter
Oh, I smudge. I smudge horribly, especially when I use black and blue (like on this picture) I usually just go over the smudges with an eraser when I'm done. People think erasers don't work with pencil crayons, but they work fine when it's light. Also, when I scan the pictures, I erase any smudges in photoshop.
that was by far the best colored pencil work I have ever seen. Utterly amazing. What kind of paper did you use? 'Cause sketch paper always ends up making it look grainy.
XD and no, I use cheaper brands. Crayola is probably the cheapest around and prismacolour is only exspensive when you buy the professional brand. I use scholar which costs like, 22 bucks from walmart for 60..and crayola costs 12 dollars for 60.
I love this picture. Your awesome at coloring. Something about making such a great drawing with such low-cost materials is so great. Personally, I use crayola crayons (120pck), crayola colored pencils (50pck), and the crayola Super Tip Markers (50pck), and try my best not use proffesional materials.
Crayons are awesome and are people should see their possibilities. Markers are good at making shadow, as long as you have the right colored markers though. An 8 pack just wouldn't do.
Yeah, They are really awesome. I have been drawing for 4 years, and been coloring for 1 year. I have though just recently bought pirsmacolor color pencils, and they are really great too! They are so soft. And they blend easily.
Wow, this is beautiful! You're so talented!!
