I just saw the last moments of this movie and I wonder if you can tell me the name of the group who sang this song over the closing credits. It sounded like the New Christy Minstrels or a similar group.
this is my favorite comedy ever. great all-star cast, great story, great song....THE GREAT LESLIE!!! i watch this movie every new years day. today i'll watch it with great sadness after hearing the great tony curtis left us. R.I.P.
She is so obviously trying to get his attention! lol I can't say that I blame her though, I know I would have a hard time keeping my hands off of him. I would not have even dreampt of slapping him though. 4:04 I agree with him. Women are so silly.
I met Henry Mancini in person after a concert he did with Burt Bacharack at Lincoln Center in the early 1980's. All the other silly women were oohing and ahhing over Burt but I couldn't care less about him. I wanted Hank's autograph and got it. Such a debonair and classy individual with a twinkle in his eye. He was a musical GENIUS.
@daughterrevolution How lucky you are to have hob-nobbed with one of the true standard-bearers of movie music. Much of today's movie music is hardly worth the manuscript paper it is printed on. Get it?
Before my grandmother died, I wen't to a theater organ concert in Sylmar,California with some friends and family from my mom's side and heard this. It was very beautiful.
Thank you for posting this. The line Were going to win Max, were going to win! by Professor Fate is my favorite line of the movie and I am glad that I can watch that line on here. Got it favorited.
This was Jackie Ward and I think Natalie could've done herself. However the Producers-and Hank- were angling for another Oscar and did not want to take chances. They lost to Johnny Mandel's The Shadow of Your Smile.
BTW, the following year Jackie dubbed Janet Leigh for A Time For Love. This great Johnny Mandel song lost the Oscar to Born Free. C'est la vie!
"Un..unresponable?" LOVE it when Tony says that!

I love when Leslie and Maggie look at Fate, thinking, "What are you babbling about?" lol.

I love the way Natalie Wood repeated the word 'concede' around 2:59. Her character seemed totally disarmed in that moment.

Jackie Ward, the singing voice of Natalie Wood in this scene recorded a hit song in 1963 called Wonderful Summer under the name Robin Ward.

Damn, I keep looking to hear Natalie's actual voice but can't find it on Youtube. I'll find it, yet! The little, bouncing ball is classic!

This is little late [like 1 year!] but try some of the clips from the movie Gypsy. Natalie did all her own singing in that film and did it very well!

Late comments can be fun. I eventually did find a few samples, but thank you! :)

They passed the flag in the Leslie Special....doesn't that mean they actually won? Even though they didn't break the ribbons??

NATALIE WOOD loved to sing ~ this however was sung for her by JACKIE WARD - but the song
seems simple enough that I really think Natalie could have performed it on her own -
Jackie Ward had sung for her (partially) in
an earlier film (Inside Daisy Clover) and matched Natalie's speaking voice pretty well.
