Anyway, Nice car man. I own a 67 beetle, same color, and have 2 6"x9" speakers in the back as well as a 10" sub with 400 Watts......I still have a generator. Im getting ready to install an alternator. Just be careful with the generator. I almost killed my battery.

BassyGuitar, that Gen will do the job when your blasting down the motorway at 3000rpm, it's only when the car is sitting idling like in this vid that it won't keep up.

Generators are more rev dependant unlike alternators

@bassyguitar Have a search around on the samba gallery, alternators are very different looking to generators, they have a large diameter section at the pulley end then a normal size body at the fan end.

You definately need to upgrade, vw started fitting them just because they added a little dash fan, let alone a big stereo system.

My 50amp alternator was only just coping with 2 500watt amps, i hate to think what a stock 30amp generator would be like.

When he puts in on full blast u cant hear shit except the music. and there's a bass booster on the stereo so when he turns that up its just. BOOOMBOOOMBOOOOOMBOOOM. no music.. lol. But your car is beast bro. for a '69 that shit is crazy. I would kill for that car

@Rune101rune there was a hole in the box, on the opposite side of the sub, so i moved the sub, and now the sub faces up and the side with the hole is face down and the sub flexes now :D
