Inspirational nationalist/republican who truly wants to see the British imperial reign in the North removed and a fully independent goverened 32 county Ireland..
Wow - don't u think we're in enough financial trouble without taking on the 6 counties! :) Don't see a united Ireland to be honest. It's a nice idea, but I don't think the majority of people in the Republic worry that much about it.
Yes it certainly is a nice idea and yes your possibly right maybe the majority of people in the State dont worry about the North anymore. But how the attitudes of people has changed ever since the troubles took place (troubles that were clearly unavoidable due to severe British segregation on Catholic citizens). In the 50's and 60's, maybe 90% of the nationalist State wanted Unification now they probably dont care, which is sad and not fair. However I dont share your view, Unification is...
is in progess and I do believe its within out future. People is the 'Republic' cant turn a blind eye because they have had a government free from British occupation for what.. almost 100 years and now consider the North as possible trouble and therefore a 'no go'! The Irish government themselves claim right to the North which is fair because its Irish, not British land and the leadership are working towards an all-Ireland anyway.. Irish people should support this, peacefully of course.. ;-)
It's been a pleasure in my life to grow up alongside Jerry Lewis on the TV and in films even although I have lived in Scotland all my life and will never see the man. P.Hunter.
what do you mean ???????? i thought that you would have looked it up on the net. if you can't find i will tell you. but see if you can find it. after all with that harvard education you should be able to find it and con- stuct an atom bomb at the same time.
Is as Meiriceá dom, ach tá tabhairt isteach dom aontaithe Éire. Tiocfaidh ár lá. Go bhfóire Dia orthu Sinn Féin, agus go bhfóire Dia air Gearóid Mac Ádhaimh. Tá bron orm dá dul amú a bheith ort faoi rud, bhí mé ag staidéar Gaeilge ar trí mhí. Dia go bhfóire Óglaigh na hÉireann. Is briste Gaeilge níos fearr arís Sasanach, tá ceart agam?
I took my family to see Jerry in "Damn Yankees" on Broadway...sat first row...we loved it. Jerry was great. Also saw Jerry at Westbury Music Fair in '93...he killed...he was fantastic...a great live performer. I've always loved Jerry but when i saw him live these two times he far exceeded my expectations.
You are so lucky StewartSummers:D I would do anything to see Jerry, I love him with all of my heart n' soul<3 Wonderful, wonderful man:):) I love reading about other people who feel the same; it warms my heart:)
I recently was talking to Gery in Dublin, i ran into him while he was out talking with my local SF concillor. He even signed a copy of his book for me. Hes a very friendly man, i think he did a lot of good for the peace process, despite what loyalists will say
The reason that Sinn Fein were mildly censored in ireland was obvious... They had a f**king military wing!!! How can a so-called democratic party have an illegally armed paramilitary force?? Of course american politicians continued to welcome & support them, after all there are 40 million irish american votes out there to be won! The USA were happy to entertain terrorism until it landed on their own doorstep!
I think you should be asking the question does a political party with an armed military wing have faith in democracy? Besides the 'censorship' was quite silly, only their actual voices were banned on tv, their words would be overdubed by an actor, or quoted word for word by the reporter! There was no censorship in printed media. The IRA's idea of censorship was to kill people with different opinions to them. Very democratic!
right , well, we're agreed on the silliness of the ban, which then begs the question- why. What was the point. ? This websites that we now communicate on has some of the most outlandish, extremist, and murderous points of view on it,but YOU seem comfortable enough using it. Because you probably feel that you are intelligent and grownup enough to evaluate things for yourself. So why would you want to deny the same respect to others?
It is September 8th 2007 and Gerry Adams was in Dublin today at 3:00 pm at Eason's. Although I had no chance to speak to him I am reminded of years ago in England when his words would only be given by an actors voice, due to censorship. Things change and there is hope for the future. I am half English and half Irish and emigrated to Eire lasy year. He is more impressive than my TD Sean Power who has been a disappointment to me so far. The video clip does give fair discussion.
Got history coursework on this guy. This helped LOADS!!! Now I just gotta find Ian Paisley.
