    wrong. The motion is the only factor. The explosive moment in that range of motion will condition the fast twitch fibers better. He even looks like he is doing a punch. What you said would equate to the same logic as saying a boxer can be just as good at punching if he does short mini punches on a bag.

  • that's not a marine pushup but its OK, uura. Marine is slow count of 4 =1 but whatever works, go hardcorps and not easy get 'er done.

  • i do muaythai and im thai and never heared of this maybe because i train in australia but i tryed it and failed even though im fit and have upper body strength and can do lots of push ups..this ones hard im going to the gym and showing the boys

  • @gengernator this is a quite nice workout, but it was hard to go on after 10 reps for me because my wrists are injured. and i dont consider myself strong.

    if you can't accomplish this push-up, it's probably because of your push up stance. your feet should be wide apart to do this one, as the guy shows in the video. it seems impossible -at least for me- to do this with my feet closely spaced as a regular push up stance.

  • We do this for cardio before training. My master will kick you back down if you start going too high up for the clap; faceplants are good reinforcement.

  • The guy with the top comment is wrong unfortunately - I did Muay Thai briefly and the coach was a real expert and visited Thailand and taught in the camps regularly and he would do this and say that they do this in Thailand.

  • When I was training we use to keep our fists closed, position them near our rib cages with our palms facing towards our body. Works the triceps ;)
