  • Thanks for a fine documentary on the great Fred Neil.

I'm in my forties and was not able to discover Fred's music until The Collector's Choice box came out a few years back.

I searched out all his music I could find after that!

As a musician myself, Fred in an uncompromising inspiration....

  • thank you. i think fred is one of the most unapreciated pop musicians of all time. cannot hear or see enuf of his talent

  • @teddybass12345 You're welcome and I agree.

  • Thank you for putting this up on youtube.

  • Yeahyourite - the Pegasus had a VIP room for the performers, but Fred would be in the lobby putting strings on his Company 12 string with people coming and going and hanging out and chatting with him and all...

  • @16X9hidef

    hey I love your videos!

  • @GroovyColouredLove Very happy you like them.

  • This is fantastic!!! I used to go to Fred Neil's shows at the Pegasus and the Flick -- I even saw Martin and Neil at a rare *daytime* show at Miami Dade JC. Gotta download Part 2 now (I only have a phone connection for crissakes...)

  • @clubflyer so glad you like the videos. Martin and Neil at Miami Dade JC?....interesting.

  • @calico1947 it came up on the event schedule -- held in the Gym! and a week before at the same Gym, a guy was "detained" for sitting in the bleachers watching women's gymnastics classes with binoculars... Good show though...

  • Herb, thank you so very much for your insightful comments. Love your song by the way and I am sorry you didn't get your due, monetarily speaking, although it doesn't surprise me. Early in his musical career, Fred came across some pretty shady characters in the music industry which appears to have shaped his distrust and contempt for the record industry.

  • Love what you put together. I am Herb Metoyer, author of "Fools Are A Long Line Coming" on Fred's Sessions album. I can understand Fred not trusting his associates. I never received one penny in royalties for my song even though I was in Fred's presence when he called his manager and told him to pay me. The guy ignored both of us. I loved Fred was just honored that he would record one of songs. I wrote him a farewell song titled "Fred Neil's Song."
