  • good 0-2 pitch

  • @ChrisFlipsAlot About 89 mph.

  • All I heard was "hyaku yon jiu yon." I'm part Japanese, and all I know are my numbers, basically, lol.

  • He was good for not being a pitcher. He looked like he was 12 years old there. Lol.

  • Matsui is just like W.T.F mindfuck

  • Comment removed

  • 1:17 O Shit look its Hideki Matsui Sitting Next To Hideki Matsui LMAO No Racial?

  • Lmao Hideki Matsui doesnt age

  • japenese tim lincecum

  • Oh cool Oakland a's hideki matsui is the

  • Ichiro works really fast on the mound. If MLB pitchers did that, baseball games wouldn't be 3+ hours.

  • How fast does 145 KMH translate to in MPH?

  • @ChrisFlipsAlot get a calculator and divide that by 1.6

  • so thats why hes got such a good arm :P does anyone know if he has the fastest throw as an outfielder?

  • pinch hitting for matsui?? hes won a world series MVP as a hitter alone. If Ichiro pitched to Matsui the world would be so perfect

  • I understood what the announcers were saying

  • explains his arm lol

  • ichrio ftw

  • "He's the only pitcher ever to run as fast as he pitches." would have been true if tim wakefield wasnt able to run 9 and a half miles per hour

  • The mini Ruth?

  • i though he pitched in extra innings one time for the mariners in like 09ish

  • this was taped in front of a live studio audience

  • If he could throw 90 from the mound, I wonder how fast he could throw from the outfield. wow

  • 0:40 is that hideki matsui on the left

  • Hey everyone. Please join "baseball players unite" if you play baseball. This is a page where we will ask questions such as what's your best strike out pitch, and then get to hear everyone's response. The only way to get this started is to advertise alot and have people join. If you help advertise for this page it would be very helpful, and you could be put as a admin. Thanks.

  • @darknighte9

In the national league you can pinch hit for the pitcher but you can either let the pinch hitter pitch or you can sub him out for a real pitcher

  • First ballot Hall-of-Famer

  • Ichiro can pitch too. NOW that's a baseball player.

  • Ichiro es el mejor bateador que hay en la gran carpa, si no revisen sus estadisticas que hablan por si solas..desde Nicaragua 100%

Manny Ramirez, Ichiro, Jose Reyes, Bonds, Rodriguez Pujols

  • Ichiro = greatness

  • i wish i knew japenese

  • if ichiro would have been drafted to a national leauge team he would have been the best hitting pitcher in baseball

  • Hideki Matsui at 0:34

  • Once Americans introduced Baseball to Japan after WWII, they fell in love with it and took the game to new heights.

  • That pinch hitter is a pitcher, Shingo Takatsu who had played for major league as well, Cicago whitesox and a few other teams many years ago. I am Japanese and baseball fan , I remember this game of 15years ago well

  • LOOK UP PERRINE BASEBALL ADRIEN#24

  • is the pinch hitter a pitcher?

  • @gtb0335

It could be I guess, but many pitchers do not bat, so that is why in the American league pitchers are substituted out by a designated hitter, however in the National league you can not have someone pinch hit for the pitcher, he must pitch.

  • Ichiro is great but when he was debut in Japan, manager wouldn't appreciate his batting form(his batting form is unique). So he was farmed out on the day he belted a homerun.

  • Baseball in Japan is nicer sometimes. They don't take 5 minutes in between pitches.

  • @MattMosca17

    looking at your Josh Beckett

  • @HeavyMetalNoize What do you mean?

  • @MattMosca17

I mean Josh Becket takes way too damn long to pitch.

  • @MattMosca17 you*

  • @MattMosca17 Pitchers do that in the MLB they will get hammer.

  • I love how quickly pitchers work in Japan

  • Just weird but why does the back of his jersey say Ichiro? It should be his last name

  • At a Fan Fest, it had the Seattle Mariners, and the Miami Dolphins there, And I saw Ichiro, and Ichiro threw me a ball! And I also have a Baseball shirt of him! I'm wearing it to School when we play T-Ball at P.E.! GO ICHIRO!

  • it looks like hes about 100 pounds and hes pitching 90mph. Damn.

  • im pitcher and he's hands down one of my favorite players.

  • also i thought he would've struck that fucker out looking

  • the prevoius commenter is retarded. excuse him.

  • Why is this video in spanish?

  • @jmpisthemachine why is your comment written in stupidity?

  • @theGel0 Why is this video in Nigger?

  • @jmpisthemachine your not funny ............your parents must not give you much attention so you go look for some on youube.

  • 1:11で「セカンドに西口が入ります」って言ってる?

  • @SSLURD

    水口だろ

    近鉄の

  • The batter in place of Matsui is Shingo Takatsu, the pitcer in CWS 2004-5.

  • hideki matsui!! sweet.

  • 2:48

little did you know, in Japan they actually use a buffalo instead of an umpire.

  • あらぶる審判

  • 野村は糞だね!

  • was he a starter or a reliever??

  • @Koorice 2 outs before he warmed up, im assuming reliever

  • @vivixdragon It's an all-star game though. I would agree that Ichiro is probably pitching in relief, but that alone does not necessarily determine whether he is a starter or not. Was this just a gimmick or did he actually pitch in japan? He has THE strongest arm in the league in outfield, but I don't know how well that translates if someone doesn't know how to pitch.

  • how can the ump possibly call ball or strike when hes kneeling directly behind the catchers head?

  • Beautiful pitching form.

Maybe he can be a good pitcher.

  • go to 2:04

  • pitching with an outfielders glove haha

  • He could have been our generation's Babe Ruth and dominate as a pitcher, hitter, base runner and fielder.

  • explains why his arm is so strong and acurate.

  • you all need to freaking shut up if it is a little bit off. WHO CARES? personally, i bet everyone else doesn't really want all of them decimals

  • hey thats H. matsui! holy crap

  • @GetMeRice

REALLY? I NEVER NEW! I DIDNT READ HIS SHIRT IETHER!!

  • Seattle could use some of that right now.

  • ichiro is the fucking shit.

  • he didnt pitch in the mlb because he was a good hitter.

  • wow he looks like hes 10 and hes a toothpick

  • Dang he's got a real fast pace on the mound.

  • i dont get why they pinch hit matsui.....his the greatest japanese hone run hitter ever...dumb

  • @ubaldoc213 r u serious?

  • @ubaldoc213 false, Sadaharu Oh is the best japanese homerun hitter ever.

  • hell ya. ichirio is g

  • this is awesome. id love to see Ichiro pitch as a Mariner.

  • so thats were he has that arm from

  • I suppose there's probably a connection between pitching and having a good outfield arm (Rick Ankiel is another example).

  • 那時候好年輕阿 也是一樣好帥

  • holy shit how many people are there in japanese baseball stadiums?

  • Oh~Ichiro has a smooth low three-quarter delivery.

  • Batter should have swung at that second pitch at 3:00.

  • yeah that fastball was pretty cocked

  • Ichiro...we love you here in Seattle!

  • Everyone loves Ichi, EVERYWHERE!

  • @Technosphile it would be more amazing if he played for the red sox

  • @Technosphile I saw him play earlier this season I immediately like him. However, I thought he was a outfielder?

  • he looks so young

  • He's the only pitcher ever to run as fast as he pitches.

  • lololololololooolollolol.

  • hahahaha!!

  • It's So Taguchi, and Hideki Matsui!!!

  • haha

  • august in kansas i hotter than 2 rats in a fuckin wool sock-ichiro suzuki's favorite american phrase.

  • He is a better closer zhan Papelbon :P

  • a dead dog is a better closer than Papelbon

  • this must explain Papelbons career 1.84 ERA. an only 18 blownsaves in 4 years (about avereage). 4 straight all-star games, being in the top 10 every full year of his career in saves. And an un believable 0.92 ERA in only first full season....

  • pardon me

a dead dog is more clutch in the playoffs than Papelbon

  • 2007

  • And hes also very young and has little experience in such a huge role... Its tough being a red sox player in the post season, let alone the closer. Give his some time his play off number will come around

  • 何で代打するんだよ~

    イチローvs松井が見たいのにさー

    マジがっかり

  • its not proportioned that evenly

  • Your numbers are a little off. 160 km/h is 100 mph, so you are correct here.

But, 150 km/h is closer to 93 mph,

and 140 km/h is closer to 87 mph.

The conversion of km/h to mph, or visa-versa, results in an estimated number. If you'd like an exact conversion, 140 km/h equals 86.992 mph. Talking in terms of exact decimals is too technical, so 86.992 mph is rounded off to 87 mph.

    ~Regards

  • i'm not sure where you guys got these numbers from but 1mph = 1.61 kmh so 100mph = 161km and 93.2mph = 150kmh...

    so 90mph = 144.9kmh

  • The km/h figures you posted have one, two, or no digits...this makes the conversion uneven. It's uneedingly specific to write out the conversion to the exact decimal on a simple video annotation showing km/h to mph, so I rounded off. This makes more sense.

140 km/h = 86.992 mph (three digits after the decimal) so I rounded off to 87 mph.

Your mph figures but with one digit after the decimal point:

    1.0 mph=1.6 km/h

    100.0 mph=160.9 km/h

    90.0 mph=144.8 km/h

    93.2 mph=150 km/h is exact.

  • so that's why he got them rocket throws

  • pinch htter is Takatsu(Whitesox closer 2004-05).

    and

Ichiro and Taguchi(St. Louis Cardinals 2002-07) shake at 3:56.

  • 90 mph!?!!??!

  • I changed the title to say the full 1996, from just 96.

    -Regards.

  • why do the uniforms have english language?

  • Because Japanese speak a little english too...and it's logo-ing.

  • Comment removed

  • he wasnt :P

he just pitched for this specific game I guess

  • he was just doing it once in an exibition game

  • yeah, that was a stupid comment. but he must of pitched at some point in his life or else he woulda been rocked

  • this guy is amazing

he is amazing at outfield and hitting hitting better than david ortiz right now and can pitch really good? geese is there anything he cant do? he should pitch some times for seattle.

  • Ichiro once said to a reporter he might consider being a pitcher once he reached age 40

  • i heard that too...wouldnt that b interesting he could do that till hes 60 LOL

  • Comment removed

  • someone give him a pitching contract

  • that is just weird

  • sweet! Are there other regular field players who can pitch at Game level on the side?

  • I'm not sure about fielders pitching in the Japanese league. I've heard of some in the Major Leagues that pitched in college or in the minors but converted to fielders. These have pitched an inning or two before when their team ran out of relief pitchers during a blowout loss. Ichiro appears to be above an average pitcher for a a fielder; he can bring it at 90 mph, just don't expect to see him pitching anytime soon.

  • @bandpost kevin youkilis has pitched on the red sox
