There's a number of ways you can do this mission:

* Turn on the electric fuel pump as soon as you get a `low fuel pressure` indication, and the engine doesnt quit.

* Turn on the electric fuel pump, restart the engine, and complete the flight normally

* Climb significantly higher, so that by the time you're abeam the carrier (seems to be roughly the trigger point), you're also within glide range of the airport

* Ditch alongside the carrier as per their instructions

* Land on the carrier

Back during the fall of Saigon, there was a South Vietnamese guy who loaded his family into a Cessna and landed it on the USS Midway, because he wasn't about to stay in Saigon when the NVA showed up.

Its the CATALINA DAY SPA mission aircraft is a CESSNA GRAND CARAVAN.  To guarantee the landing on the Carrier, practice tactical approaches first MISSION CORKSCREW, then climb out towards Santa Monica from the Day Spa-- you can reach 11,000Ft before the engine goes screwy. Then you just keep the carrier out the window (its right under you when you blow your engine).

If you corkscrew in and land with the brakes on the cessna WILL stop.

if you turn on the fuel pump, you can make it all the way back to the airport. and be successful also. I did it both ways.

Haha! That cessena pilot is screwed for making an unathorized landing on a naval carrier. I like TrackIR cuz it adds alot more realsism to any game with great quality to start with. Thanks for sharing this with me cuz its some prettycoll stuff to watch if it looks more real.

Hey instead of landing on the carrier, just go into your VC - look to left switch panel and turn the fuel pump ON. The character will automatically radio back to base and say 'i got the engines running'.

I just flew this mission 3 times, and I was either way to high, or way to low. What altitude were you cruising at? And I tried the AUX fuel pump. I didn't notice any difference.

Hey, Justin. I am no flying expert myself as the name implies. It took me a couple times. It appears I was at 2200' and I basically eyeballed it in. Dont use flaps, though you hear the noise, it was extending them then retracting them soon after. GL

as a student pilot u should know just to look at the panel and turn the fuel pump to 'ON' and the engines fires right up and you can complete the mission. (i know ive tried and it works)
