Yes, they go. Although you'd think that misses might happen quite often in practise, they don't. You have a good idea of where the other dancer is and where his/her stick is going to be. I do have to say, a good awareness of your own "space" is essential.
These guys are really good, though, and watching them, even in practise, is a joy.
Enjoyed it very much. Morris music is so infectious. But I wonder, does a Morris dancer practice with the actual batton as he begins to learn the routine? It seems if someone struck amiss it would smart a bit. Thanks for posting.
